    You guys are totally right about the spec of this amp being switchable from 20w down to 5w - its me getting my 2550 & 2555X amps mixed up - sorry!!

      +Leuff 5 watt is definitely fine for room practice - the volume you get depends a lot on the speakers you are using though and the acoustics in your room etc. Usually it is more than fine, you can even use a 15 or 30 Watt amp to practice in your room, (you roughly need to double the power to gain an increase of 3db) - depending on the volume you want, your pedals, guitar etc.

    I can say that 2525H with 2x12" vertical cab sounds amazing when played live. I was expecting much based on youtube reviews etc. but when I started playing it myself, I was blown away. Its such powerful setup! If you expect that 20W of tube power is "not loud, enough for home" then you are totally wrong. It is enough for practice with full band and for gigs in smaller clubs. For home usage is 5W switch, which still is makes this amp sound great, punchy, and incredibly loud. Seriously, I am never going higher with output master on 5W setting more than 4/10 (input gain 5/10, no clip engaged). Best money spent ever!

    • @davidhoban9919
      @davidhoban9919 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How quiet can you play this at? I have a 50w boss katana that I keep at volume 3/10 to stay below 85db at home (measured using an app), but I'd love to get a 2525h or c, just afraid I won't be able to use it at home without upsetting the wife and neighbours

    I own the 20 watt head and even though I’ve owned a few Marshall’s before it including the DSL40C and the Class 5. This is the best Marshall I’ve owned so far and the best sounding. That with a Les Paul and its pure kick ass hard rock Guitar tone.

    • @vuriby
      @vuriby 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey I might buy the head too, what do you think about the clean channel, is it pretty dynamic/ sparkling ? Ever tried a fuzz pedal on this amp ?

    They did make a mini version back in 1987...the 2553, and that has the 50 watt to 25 watt switch. Had matching 2x12 A and B cabinets, with G12H's, or the V model with Vintage 30's, and it was called the 3/4 stack. I own one, and was hoping to see with this video if the 2525 was a suitable substitute to keep the vintage rig at home, but still gig with the same tone.

    I have had the Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee head for almost six months now. And for six months I have had mixed feelings about it. One day I think it sounds great and the next it sounds just ok! It just seems like something is missing. Then a day ago I purchased the Marshall DSL40C. Needless to say I was blown away by it. It just sounded way more Marshall to me. It had that growl that I love from a Marshall amp. I run the Jubilee through a cab with vintage 30 speakers so a cab change wasn't needed. I don't know......maybe I am going a little crazy for thinking a foreign made amp sounds better then a British made one.

    You said it's 50w and can go down to 25w. As far as I know, it's 20w and can be reduced to 5w. That would also make more sense with a 25w speaker in the combo, as 50w would blow it.

    The Jubilee and 800 sound pretty faithful to the originals, but the mini plexi comes up short. Not that it sounds bad, because it's not, it just doesn't sound anything like a plexi. Then again, at 20 & 5 watts, how could it?

    The only thing I can say is that the simplifier has served me well over the years and I just happened to run across this old demo, but truly when I got the combo, the speaker absolutely sucked. I would have never put a green back in what I wanted to call a silver jubilee, it changed the voice thing of the app and I thought it really was terrible. Either way changing out that speaker and adding an extension cab change the whole picture. Thanks again. Enjoy cheers for the future. 20:11

    I think Captain Lee needs a Gretsch. This is the best playing and tone i have heard from him. Plus he totally has the look down.

    I have the combo version and it’s amazing. I just wish the clean tone were a bit better. It DOES have a lot of headroom on the clean channel, but it could use some jangle.

      When I play my Strat on that channel, it's straight up glass heaven. Even prettier sounding than my Twin.

    Trying to decide between the Mesa V:25 or the Marshall 2525. I like both tones!

    I come back periodically to hear the intro jam here

    The 2525 is actually switchable from 20 watts to 5 watts, not 25 watts to 50 watts, right?
