The funniest part about tube screamer was always the led. It's impossible to tell if it's on or not. It's as good as not having a led.
Just like with the sound. You could never tell if someone just put a carpet over your speaker cab or if it's the tubescreamer. So no matter what senses, the tubescreamer always leaves you questioning 😜
No but seriously, thanks to Ola i see the true purpose of tubescreamer now 😋🤘, so I'm curious to eventually check it out again by myself.

@@Yupppi Try the MXR Wylde overdive! The original model ZW-44 it's a lot nicer sounding than the SD-1 and I have both.
@@Yupppi Definitely, for $45 it cant be beat. Its surprisingly tight sounding as well.

Hey man! You’re the reason I got a Marshall DSL Series. As a teenage guitarist I could only DREAM of a Silver Jubilee, but man thank you for bringing the cheapest options to the public eye for metalheads. @Ola Englund you’re the man!
Is you DSL also very fizzy? I just got mine and it doesn’t sound like any of the demos. But worst of all it doesn’t even chug
@@moai9668 honestly mine is really nice. Mind you I also have a 10 band eq in the front and a 6 band in the fx loop with an overdrive, but mine chugs. What do you mean by fizzy?

Marshall is started to dip into “underrated” territory when it comes to high gain amps. They have such a way with the midrange that I find to be lacking in metal today.

@@chambersofblood3327 am aware, even if he didn’t mention it in the video I know he has greenbacks in the Marshall. Greenbacks are pretty cool, and as it stands I know that they don’t have the saturated midrange chirp that V30s have, yet the silver jubilee translates mids well anyway
Do u have any extended speaker experience? I’m constantly looking out for options to replace my V30s
If you like greenbacks, try scumbacks! I LOVE the 2 i have in my cab. I got an H30 and a J30 (large and medium sized magnets) the mid frequencies that im getting are amazing!
The jubilee sounds best with some kind of v30.
same here along with a Soldano SLO and Diezel VH4. I have a Mesa Mark V, Uberschall, and MZero and this would be fantastic.
The first time I heard these Silver Jubilee 2525H heads was at a Ibanez guitar clinic featuring Kiko Loureiro. The Long and McQuade store had the Silver Jubilee head with the matching 2 x12 cab and I was completely taken aback on how much gain and modern Metal sounds that it put out. It is a really impressive amp. I wasn't expecting it from a lower wattage amp. It really has a full size head sound to it.
Owning one of these, it’s really where I wanted the whole “modded Marshall” tone.
The EQ is very responsive, and it takes a lot of dialing with your ears rather than your eyes. Balancing the treble and the presence is pretty critical too, IME.
It’s a phenomenal little amp. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the mini heads, but this Marshall is definitely going to be a keeper. Great tones at low volumes too.

I think all those 20 heads are great and made for deferent demographics.
Presence and treble is with pretty much every amp, but I didn’t know it at the time so I would must cut the presence and rely on graphic EQ in fx loop.
The 100 Watters sound great at any volume too. I'd like a mini to save my back though.
I have this same amp and love it. Although I wish it had a little more gain. How do you like to set your EQ?

The original did chug, you just had to drive the hell out of it with everything set at 11 same as the Std JCM. Had a JCM stack (4x12) way back in the day and selling it was one of my biggest regrets as you could get the crispiest sound from it with a bit of fiddling, there are better amps out there but a JCM just has something about it not to mention a good condition stack is worth the price of a kidney these days...
would love me a new JCM 800 half stack with clean boost in front.
Having grown up loving the Marshall sound, I am very happy that their lower-wattage amps are sounding as good as they are. I'm staring to notice the DSL creeping into videos here and there. 🤘🏻
I saw this video title and clicked FAST. Whenever you play through Marshall's you always sound amazing. It's a testament to your good playing, as Marshall's aren't one to cover up mistakes.

@@Ottophil There are definitely amplifiers out there that are far less forgiving than others, like Hiwatts. If you suck, those amps will tell you immediately, and will tell everyone else too. WAY faster than most others will. Even among the same brands, Dual Rectifiers are much more forgiving than Mark series amps are.

To me it's the best on it's own sounding Marshall for heavy metal. It's pure deep throat like distortion with heavy balls. 💀
Great grindy tone right off the bat! Nice texture! Instant seal of approval from me. Compared to Zach Wish’s demo I can really hear that active push from the pickups. It’s the first time I’ve heard actives creating a sound that speaks to me, not just at best like “yeah I can see how that would sound pretty rad in a mix”

My 2525c really chugged with a Ikon Archer. Sold the pedal thinking i could get that tone out of any overdrive pedal...nope.

Really digging that Solar Explorer Type! The reverse headstock really sells it for me. If it's available in purple I may not be able to resist the temptation. The amp sounds cool, but I'll forever stick to my trusty and badass Randall.

The rhythm clip pull is for the clean channel…it enables different clipping diodes for a crunch channel….the EQ is also plate driven,so it’s very responsive,which was a unique design for Marshall….it will chug with a drive pedal in front,but it’s more of a classic hard rock sound….great amps though…I have an original 87 100 watt that I bought brand new back then….I almost like the new small version better..
such a killer amp for anything from jazz, country, blues to rock and metal.
You should post the settings for the final settings you get from each amplifier. Because I am struggling to fucking find good settings for my 50 W EVH 5150iii

My favorite amp for years. I don´t understand the hype for the old ones. I owned a 2553. Sounds awesome but the 2555X sounds also amazing and will blow you away.

the push/pull knob ola used actual did nothing, there is a second push/pull knob you have to use to get a use of it, nice ola fail :P

I had an original, it sucked. my friend still has it. It sits in his closet waiting for a descent offer, you want it. I'll hook you up. He uses' his Sodano's. This new ones sound better, could be the cab, or the post production?

You should do a ibanez tone blaster I love them spring reverb amazing cleans and nice lead channel with a effects loop the usually go for 250 bucks for just the head it's an idea for ya ola
I've been recording with a Marshall DSL20 to a celestion in an iso box with a 57 on it. Sounds great with those EL34s cranked, it sings like my 100w Marshalls.

The DSL and Jubilee are great all around amps so versatile

I had a mini half stack back when I was into black label society and went into full blow Pantera mode and noticed Marshall's are on so bassy
I have this amp, it’s awesome, thinking about adding the the studio vintage and studio classic too to my collection
I find this shit so funny, whenever i see ola trying stuff, diling in tones and all that, I never understand what he means when he says "oh wish it had a bit more of this (mids; low end; etc) or that (bottom end; highs; etc)", but whenever he changes something in the tone i notice it most of the time, all whilst not understanding what he´s doing and his thought process behind it, i guess that all of that will only come with years of experimentation and messing around with tones and different gear. i do learn a lot with ola this this stuff though

Pre-amped pickups are always going to give you more boost(Chug)....would love to hear it through a non-pre set up....

Is the Neumann TL102 better infront of a cab like this compared to an SM57 ? Do I get a fatter sound with the Neumann than the SM57 ? I am looking in to improving the audio from the cab to my Focusrite 2i4...

Finally played one with Seymour Duncan super distortion pickups aaaaaand it sounded like ass. Played through another guitar with Burst Buckers and sounded beautiful but not metal. Still, it's crazy you got that hi gain tone out of a mini Silver Jubilee without an overdrive in the front. Please do WIC with both passive and active pickups 🙏 Ola.

This amp sounds exactly like the vs30r I have. Like exactly, I bought and returned it because side by side they sounded the same. VS30R was $50, silver jubilee $2g. Wired a speaker out on my vs30r and run it through some V30's.
Sounds insane with the boost. Would be nice to hear in a full mix, a la old school Ola amp demo video
I don't know about Marshall "catching up", they are really falling behind with metal amps. All they have is the DSL and JVM amps and haven't expanded their range of high gain amps or put out any new high gain oriented designs.
If they wanted to keep up they would finally bring back the Valvestate amps and give those monster metal tones the Valvestate amps are known for. Instead it's just repeats of old classic Marshall tones, which they are good amps (minus the Code), but there is no love for the Valvestate.

I've had some trouble getting my 2525c to sound right, but I kinda fixed it by using the old method of "everything at noon and tweak from there"
dime the output master and use the the Lead master as your volume.
Good speakers and a smidge of delay in the loop.
With active pickups almost everything chugs🙃

I never played in a Jubilee, can anyone tell me the difference to the original jcm 800?
The Jub was meant to be a 'new' JCM800, some people call the Jub the hot-rodded version of it. Actually it’s even called JCM 25/50. But right now, they are different beasts. The Jub sounds naturally way darker and somewhat fizzy compared to the JCM800. It is a two-channel amp, but one might also say that it has three: Clean, Crunch, Lead. Crunch due to the push/pull-configuration. Also it has a lot more Gain (without a Booster) and prolly more.. mid-range? However the JCM800 has a lil' more punch with a booster.
I wouldn’t use the Jub without an EQ(-pedal), unless you can crank him up. Without the right volume, it might just sound too muddy even for practice.
Also the amp is really loud, even on 5watts. So you might wanna grab an attenuator for the Marshall minis in general.

I have very different question, how tf are you not deaf from blasting this amp at full 25w power at almost half volume, i have my dls20 and if i put it on max power at this volume i cant almost even stay in that room, let alone next to the cab, just HOW ? xD
Dude , not dialing it in right. Need to get the MV at least 7. Then the amp completly changes, and lower the gain knob on the right to around 6. Without pushing that MV , it's just doesn't open up the amp. If you keep the other gains lower it will thicken up, get bright with more punch.
i have an original 1987 silver jubilee 25/50 and both 4x12 top and bottom cabs i bought new in 1988

That rhythm clip your on about ONLY turns the clean channel into a drive channel - it does nothing when the main distortion channel is engaged
