I have two of these fabric boxes, they work great. The ONLY problem I have with them is some of the boards on the bag and boards tend to bend as little, therefore bending the comic. I’m thinking of re-enforcing the inner lining with thick cardboard so the inside can have extra support and keep the books lined up better.
Good video, defintely gonna order one of these Leffis boxes. I'm new to collecting but want to keep my comics as safe as possible and storaged somewhere more appealing than a carboard box. this is perfect.
Welcome to the best hobby there is! Haha I really do like these boxes, the only complaint is they are not built to stack. But they look great and work wonderfully.
I would buy a short box from Gemini Comic Supply and then get a Comic Book Sidekick. www.sidekicksupplies.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhb60BhClARIsABGGtw9ybUR6Gui1KNGX9M98KecgZhSystvJOkiJJ4XHBQ0sGoWcWootVaUaAqzGEALw_wcB
There's some for 5 packs on Amazon for $38 right now. Plan to get a sturdier option though, but this could be perfect to put on a bookcase or other shelving unit.
When storing comics in a box, is it ok for them all to face the same direction? I have heard from some people that you should alternate upside down or even facing each other every other book.
Hey Adrian, I have heard the same thing and for long term storage I would agree that alternating how the comics are facing would be a good idea. Thanks for checking out the video.
I found a brand called eloboon, its box is very strong, and can be fireproof and waterproof, for my comics in the basement, moisture-proof this function is fantastic, with a handle and with a lock, now I slowly replaced the BCW with this comic box.
Never thought about amazon, but Usps Medium flat rate boxes are free and work perfectly as well! I will definitely be ordering a fabric box to try out, Great video!!
Thanks for promoting other options to store comics. I have a similar brand to this one that cost a little more. They look nearly identical with a different name. As you mentioned, these are nice and hold books really well. I've stacked a couple of them for a little while and they held up well. However, I ultimately went with the plastic BCW short boxes. I bought them in bundles of 5 for around $115 from Amazon. Since I'll be moving in the not too far off future, I think the plastic interlocking bins give me a better, more secure option to transport my collection.
Thanks so much for watching and I would love to move over to all plastic BCW boxes, but right now that would cost me an arm and a leg to move my full collection over to them. Maybe once I retire and have nothing else to spend my money on. Ha.
Girl scout cookie boxes work well for temporary storage. I have also tried the cloth and vinyl box but didn't like the handles. I am now moving to short boxes in the stored draw housing and loving easy access to books. The housing is remarkably sturdy too.
So I too keep all my comics in the basement like you do Bruce but sometimes I want some upstairs to read. This looks much better when other boxes. And we all know dealing with wives that this will look nicer then the white short box and she won't mind as much lol
I got one of the fabric boxes and they aren’t sturdy enough for me. After a few month the books start to bend.. I just store my readers and extra bags and boards in them for now. It’s my “to read” box after a year.
A caveat on the fabric box that I have noticed on Amazon comments is that depending on the brand some of them are not high enough to allow for a divider. Just something to look out for.
That is interesting, in the ones that I bought I did not run into that issue, but that is a good thing to look out for. Thanks so much for the comment.
@@BruceStephanieComics For example the comics you put inside in the video. Can you tell me the exact size of the comics you put inside by width and height please? My small comics are 10.75 height and 7 width. My big ones are 11.5 height and 8 width (all in inches)
Those look real nice, I just do not trust em for support. I do take in consideration, I move my boxes a good bit, and like to be able to stack, so I will continue with em, but a great idea for anyone looking for other options! The BCW boxes are pretty good, but my LCS carries Gemini short and long boxes, never going back. All of it is double-boarded, feels super sturdy, and have zero issues stacking em pretty dang high. Just another idea if someone like the same style as me :)
@@BruceStephanieComics Okay cool. Thanks for the update! I've been searching for a quality case w/ no success. I guess I'll have to keep using my cardboard amazon boxes for now. Tried the BCW and the box itself did not fit together properly. Arrgghhh.
I have a question, can this bin also store doujins (doujinshi) as well? They're basically like self published Japanese comics, novels, magazines and other content.
I've been using Amazon boxes when in a pinch too. Unfortunately not being able to stack them kinda ends that idea for me, but I'm pretty content with drawer boxes tbh
Those soft cloth ones from Amazon have a terrible plastic smell that gets dee into the comics and will never go away I wonder what chemicals they use and if those chemicals would react with the comics some day
Do not trust the handles on those fabric boxes. I have had two handles tear-free when I was picking up boxes. The fabric boxes also don't feel as sturdy and rigid as bcw boxes especially when they are full. I ordered five of them and as the months of gone by I have been less happy with them and have reverted to standard bcw type boxes
I’m not really into comic book speculation, or anything but I watch your videos anyway because I supporrr….never mind. You did something g different. Shitty cardboard is that stuff they use on the ones with cool print on them.
High energy and a creepy basement, at first I was unsure about this video but it was pretty good.

BCW has a plastic Box with a divider the divider can be used as a back stop.
@whatdupdoh I have seen those, the thing I don’t love about those is price. They are very expensive.

What brand of box did you get? I have not had any issues with the 5 boxes I have.
Some Cat Litter Boxes are the right size (to reinforce the interiors), taller than books, sterile and strong enough to stack.
Is it durable to stack? I only stack 2 so one on top of another
I have not personally stacked them, but a few guys in the discord have. But I do not think I would stack these
@ dang ok well much appreciated I did hear it in the video but I just thought maybe after someone on here has

I have big comics and some hardcovers. Do you think they can fit there?
I don’t think they will. These fit modern comics well, but there is not a lot of extra room
Oh, and what do you recommend in this case? Ive looked in amazon and everything is for small comics

Gemini short boxes... I wonder if they are cheaper than BCW, I will need to investigate. Thanks for watching as always!
So this will definitely not store CGC slabs well then? Or can they fit horizontally and stacked inside the leefi box?
That is a great question. I just tried a slab horizontally and they are too tall. You can not close the top once it is inside
