I can't stand the band however this is one of my favorite songs ever. Video is great.
Yeah - 1) its weird how much hate nickelback gets. Are they generic? Sure, maybe - but the plus side of being "generic" is being for a wide audience. 2) From a marketing standpoint, I get the concept of associating "race" with particular genres of music - that is, I get why labels push that idea, and why people with a particular view of things also buy into that - but as I get older, I see how actually fucked up that is. Everyone should enjoy all types of music, all types of food, all types of everything. Diversity is always better - it's better for society getting along, but it's also better in tons of other stuff too! Biodiversity ensures survival among organisms, financial diversity ensures you don't get hit SO hard in the stock portfolio if one industry sector tanks, etc stc. Yeah - go like all kinds of stuff, if anyone says it's uncool to do so - well, trust me, there is someone uncool - but it ain't you.

And you have GOT to do Static-X "Dirthouse". And Rob Zombie "Dragula" and Flyleaf "I'm so sick". All of these are bangers. When you see the lead singer for Flyleaf it'll blow your mind. Her person doesn't match the voice and it's awesome.

Nickelback was everywhere back in the early 2000s. They were one of the most popular bands around until the internet said they weren't, and I know of people now that say they suck but back then they were singing along to every song.

Nickelback & Creed were the top rock bands in the early 2000’s. The propaganda doggin on them was insane! I never waivered, like many. They both rocked!!

This is such a good song and relatable since everyone wants that life whether they admit it or not. The video for this song is really good too. You should check it out, even if not a video for the channel. A really good song from them is Never Again, but basically anything from the Silver Side Up album.

Nickleback is from Canada... they have a lot of haters tho, cos they got really popular, really fast in the 2000's, playing a brand of radio-friendly rock. They started in the 90's - Nickleback had Chad Kroeger (vocals & guitar), his brother Mike Kroeger (bass) and Ryan Peake (guitar)... Daniel Adair (drums) joined in 2005. First record 'Curb' (1996) didn't do much... but they signed w/ a major label in 1999 and released 'The State' (2000 ), which got some airplay at the time.
The 3rd album 'Silver side up' put Nickleback on the fast lane very quickly in 2001, w/ the single 'How you remind me' becoming a huge MTV hit. As 'Silver side up' sold 6 million copies in the US, Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott (then-singer of the band Saliva) did the single 'Hero' for the first 'Spider-Man' movie soundtrack in 2002. That became another hit, as their 2nd album 'The State' also sold 1 million copies. Their next album 'The Long Road' (2003) would sell 3 million copies w/ singles like 'Someday' and 'Figured you out'. Drummer Ryan Vikedal left the band soon after and was replaced by Daniel Adair.
"All the right reasons" (2005) became the biggest record of Nickleback's career, charting at #1 and selling over 7 million copies in the US... singles like 'Rockstar' (feat. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top)... 'Photograph'... 'Animals'... 'If everyone cared'.
Subsequent albums did well... 'Dark Horse' (2008) sold 3 million copies... 'Here & now' (2011) sold 1 million copies in the US... In the digital age, record sales dropped, but Nickleback still scored #2 albums on the US charts - 'No fixed address' (2014) and 'Feed the machine' (2017).
After a few years on a break, Nickleback have a new record due out in 2022, titled "Get rollin' "
All their songs don't have that country edge. But Nickelback are badass.

Love all their songs. Do not understand the haters when it comes to them. Another band that's really good and along the same style is HINDER and of course SHINEDOWN. Love love love Shinedown's version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's SIMPLEMAN. This song is one I've sung to my son numerous times as he has been thru so much as an adult and now it will be 40 months before I can sing for him again, as he has recently been screwed over by the corrupt court system here in Douglas County Oregon having been seen in a courtroom by a judge who had let his license to practice law lapse and the judges and attorneys and public defenders office all swept it under the courthouse and sanctioned him to prison when we filed his $6mil lawsuit against them for their actions not only just his case but he was encouraging others in jail to do the same and make the court system be responsible for violating his civil rights.
“Stand Alone” by Godsmack is another badass rock song should check out , the music video was made for The Scorpion King movie with The Rock in it

To answer your earlier question, as I recall the name of the band originated from when the bass player in the band (Mike Kroeger) used to work at Starbucks, and the most commonly ordered drink worked out to 95 cents, so he constantly had to give out nickels as change. All day he said "Here's your nickel back." And he thought it sounded cool.
