  • Having contacts and friends that supply you with free ewaste and scrap is awesome... unless most of what they have are printers, here is how I quickly free up space and get out the valuables I am interested in. Enjoy!

My yard will take them as shred, so I do the same...take the cords and cartridges and throw the rest in shred!

I really needed the space, other wise I would have taken them in for shred too. This was fun though. 👍👊

Tina hates printer's lol. First printer I have one the same as that lol. Best thing about them is the wire's that plug them in lol.

I'm surprised you are not removing the scanner heads out of the printers. There are gold bond wires in them. They are easily removed as well, just break the top glass and reach in and grab the bar. Sometimes the chip in them is not even covered with epoxy. You can easily recover the gold with a small razor blade.

I shall keep this in mind for when I get another pickup with a lot of printers 👍👊

YES. The BEST part of these scanners. Always looking for them.
Collecting as many of these as possible. There is also exposed chips/gold on some.
      Pure gold.
Plan is to scrape it off of the board, melt and pour.
Hope to make a vid of it all.

    Ha ha. 👍😀
    15 minutes ?? Hammer Time. 🙂
This is definitely faster than my method and was enjoyed.😉
I took two printers apart yesterday and it took at least an hour an a half.
    Recovered bits:
    Scanner head with exposed gold
    Circuit boards with gold
    Drive motors
    High strength metal rods
    ....more.
Ar first, I thought you were going to drop them from the fifth floor and pick up the bits that came out. 😉😀

I needed the space more than whats in them. 😅 oh and I live on the 6th floor 😋

Hey Ralph, new sub here in 🇬🇧, what part of the world are you?
Not much value in printers them lol, this is why I never pic them up it would cost more getting rid of the plastic than you would make from the gold out of it.
This is also why I stopped scrapping CRT TV’s to much plastic and glass to worry about.

Hello and welcome to the madhouse! I am in luck to live in an appartement building with a large dumpster room under it, so I can dump whatever I can't get rid of. So I do like CRT tvs, but not printers, they usually come with bigger pickups. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊👍

Wow that's a lot of broken printers. I have a Canon and misplaced the cord somewhere in my move so now it is a decorative coffee table. 🙄
