It's got everything, from powerful passages of inner torment to sparkling dance-like sections to the mind-blowing fugue at the end-- maybe the greatest 4 minutes of all "classical" lit from the U.S.

I don’t need to be educated that Barber wasn’t a serial composer, but perhaps you need to educate yourself and read things more clearly next time?
My favorite moment in this is at 20:18 when she GRADUALLY releases the pedal. I’ve never thought of overlapping the blur of the moment before and letting it bleed into the next moment of articulate writing, only to gradually clear it. It’s such a cool effect.

There are quite a lot of uniquely great contributions in this rendition. The The almost improvised texture change at 9:30 was brilliant, and the sudden lifting of pedal at 18:45 transformed what would've been a lull in the action into an interesting development. The 4th movement tempo was a bit slower than I like to play it, but this made me reconsider that choice.

It seems there is a little distortion to loud notes in the upper middle register, probably miked up too much. Still a great recording though. Or maybe the piano is a little too bright in that range, sounds a little tinie to me.

The dynamics are incredible. The delicate shifting from loud to soft, fast to slow. My attention is riveted through out.
I like the way she plays this piece. Vibrant and mysterious simultaneously. I am becoming a fan of hers.
