@jonport_ not workingnon it myself had it installed and yea still trying to get things done around it. My salt chlorinator i think needs cleaning but i have no idea how to go about it
Just purchased my first house after years of battling student loans. Now I'm looking at a fiberglass swimming pool. Debt until death I guess, but i'll enjoy my pool. Great Vid, thx
Similar situation for me. Currently in my starter home, throwing as much at student loans as i can. Goal is to payoff most within two years, move to the forever home in about 5, but already doing my pool research 😎
very informative - but the last stage of capping was omitted... I was interested in this element - how much cement around? how deep etc apart from that, good.
Great question and thank you for your interest in our process! We're glad you found our information helpful. Regarding the capping stage details, these are part of our proprietary techniques and are not publicly disclosed to maintain our product's uniqueness. We appreciate your understanding and continued interest!
Ah nice vid. I'm thinking of getting one of these. UPDATE: I got one 2nd UPDATE: Enjoying it. The maintenance is much less than that of my neighbors who have gunite pools. Another pro is that the floor of the pool feels nice. Oh, and the PH of the water is really stable.
Hello! We use french drains to control flooding and runoff. We also have drainage around the patio since it is pitched which allows water to run down into the drain, keeping your patio drier
I am installing a fibre glass pool in my new home. I am getting it from Swimming Pool Kits Direct and they don't install. Can you please let me know who installed this for you and their details. Also is all that I see in the video done by one contractor and how much it costed ?
If someone wants to save money, can they opt to fill it with the garden hose, even if this adds time for you to come back? Not sure what the Surcharge would be to have a truck come and fill it costs per gallon vs hose?
No, we need the water to come in fast so we can backfill at the same time. The cost is negligible, roughly $300 per truck. Time is the most valuable thing we have, and one of the few things you can never get back.
Because it's safer, and it really does not make a meaningful difference. If Genesis had it their way pools would not any suctions, just a peremiter overflow gutter.
Outta curiosity why wouldn't you make a seal like in boat building? When installing a through fiberglass fitting only tighten 70% leave sealant 12hr then fully tighten.
These videos are fantastic. Unfortunately I'm just out of your area. Have any recommendations for folks you respect to do this work near Bridgewater/Flemington/Princeton in New Jersey?
So you install in Ma , Ct , RI we will be moving here soon and those are the 3 states we are looking at. We are on Mass now . Also can you make it between 6 to 8 feel deep? Thank you
I just wrote to Alex at corporate and my email was immediately kicked back as spam! You would think if corporate is looking for inquiries to sell pools they might want to allow those inquiries to pass through to this guy! Smh
Do you have a hydrostatic valve in your pools in America ? I didn’t see one ,in NZ we do to stop the pool jumping out of the ground when the water table is saturated
@@AlbertGroup What do you do with the sump tube when tiling? We haven't cut ours off yet but just about to start the coping tiling and surrounds. Thanks!
I would have to see the lot, but if we have 8-10 feet we can get our normal stuff in, In the past we had only 6' and we used a smaller machine. In NYC they carry buckets of dirt out through the house. Crazy right! Congrat's on your new home, the right person will make it happen for you. Perfect example though where a fiberglass pool may be a challenge just because of the size. Not all pool types are right for every family.
I forgot to mention. A fiberglass pool may be carried like a suitcase, so you don't need the width of the pool for your path, just the depth. For example, a 15' x 30' pool with a depth of 6' could pass through a 7' wide opening as long as you had the height to pick it up and leaving a little clearance. I have friends that crane pools over the house every time, not me, I've always found a way around. The day will come....
@@AlbertGroup Thank for the info. We are planning this project probably for a year from now, but I'm starting to research. We are thinking something in the 10x20 range. We just want something to splash around in. The backyard space is only about 30x50.

Great Questions - We only use 2" Schedule 40 PVC - No Flex pipe. I was thinking of doing a video on why do not use flex pipe. If I get more questions like yours I'll wind up doing it.
@@AlbertGroup , really appreciate your prompt reply; your videos are extremely educational. I'm getting _really nervous_ because I have a pool going in my backyard in 2½ months and my pool guy recently said he uses flex PVC, “Tiger Flex”, and says everyone uses flex underground; I don't think it's _technically_ Schedule 40 PVC. You work in a Winter climate and use rigid. I'm now finding that many pool contractors will not use flex (anymore). I'm quickly not liking the situation I'm in!
@@AlbertGroup , Toronto, Canada region. I'm also considering something that I think is important but probably surprising to many: health quality of the pipe. Rigid PVC is used for water mains and is rated for potable water (e.g., NSF-pw); there's no such thing as a drinking-quality-safe _soft_ plastic, including “flex PVC” _tubing._
Just out of curiosity, doesn't the frp swimming pool bulge after the water is put in it without the support from the side walls? What is the thickness of the frp swimming pool? Looks like 10mm at the top.
The biggest benefit of fiberglass is that it is flexible, the biggest Achilles Heel of fiberglass is that it is flexible. You are 100% correct that the shell needs support, that is why water and backfill are added together in a certain way as to not deform the shell. The shell is somewhere around 1/4" thick or maybe a little more. The crazy thing is that the buried fiberglass storage tanks for the oil fields are thinner. They bulk up pools unnecessarily for client perception. The oil fields have engineers on staff that know what is required, but homeowners want to see thicker. If a shell becomes too thick it has a tendency to not flex anymore and crack easier. This is especially true for the gelcoat thickness.
Jack Myers Wow that crazy. I just had a 18x30 inground pool installed with lighting and a nice waterfall. It’s surrounded by Cambridge pavers all the way around. Paid just over 40k
