- Let's take a look at the new V4 Arrma Granite! Will this be better than the Traxxas Stampede BL2S and Stampede VXL? Will it be the best 1/10 scale bashing monster truck you can get? Let's find out!
I love when you are curious and opens up motors and all that, that’s what makes your channel so good! I almost treat your deep dive videos are therapeutic podcasts while I work 😂👍🏻 your awesome
Nothing wrong with that! Thanks for watching :-)
@@DoRC ❤❤
You definitely can’t beat that for the price. Arrma has been crushing with new releases. I can’t wait to see the upgrade video.
Agreed. It strikes a really nice balance between price performance and durability.
You such thorough reviews... I've watched few so far and you are the only one that pointed out things like the notch for ths tie rods... A among other things... That's why I always look forward to your reviews.
Thanks I'm glad you're enjoying them!
Seen it, liked it, commented. Best RC reviews around TH-cam! 👌
Thanks!
Love how you always go in depth helps many people decide what’s good also 2 vids in 1 day let’s go!
Stay tuned we've got more coming soon
_Not only that, but this is truly one way to cut any BS from manufacturers.. help keep accountability high when they are making bold claims on boxes!😂_
@@SOMNIOHM Yeah I like to present you guys with all the details so you can make your own judgments. My opinion is fine but it's just my opinion
@ true
Totally! In depth reviews like these are super valuable and rare!
You are the only person I see that buys upgrades and the car. And I love it😂
Loving the new 3s line. The Big Rock 3s looks sweet too 🤩
Definitely it's a sweet truck!
Yes, the truck looks absolutely amazing. I love the upgrading some of the weaker points like the cut out for the spur gear. Center.Diff . I like the emulsion style shock. Which I think they already had, but I still like it. I don’t think I dislike anything that you showed in your video. And it’s really cool that you can hand this to seven-year-old and they would never ever break it on 2s . The only compliant I would have is the two in one esc. Can’t wait to see it all beef up. Things gonna be a monster. I would love to see a comparison video with the stampede of your choice in this vehicle. And you were right about the new style of Arma bodies I love them now.🔥👍🏼. Happy bashing. It looks like a hoot !! 🦉
Thanks for watching and stay tuned :-)
Hell yeah that looks like a pretty good little truck...!! 👌
It's definitely fun!
Most thorough breakdown I’ve seen. You got everything, except some very minor details. The rear of the chassis also has extra reinforcement. Very happy to see it, it was a major weak point. The rear battery stop is longer, to match the center diff case. Some say the driveshafts have extra plastic to reduce popped u-joints, I can’t confirm.
Center makes a huge difference in this rig. I’ve already installed it on my V1 Granite. Those speed punches on grass would look much different with the slipper (unrelenting wheelies). It’s so much more planted now. That black body is sweet!
Good catches! I think I pointed that stuff out in the Vorteks review but kind of glossed over them on this one.
Yeah the center differential is great and if you still want your crazy wheelies you can always earplug it
The sound of the tire rubbing the body sends chills down my spine. All the 223s models seem to do this.
Agreed. I talk about it in the next video. It seems like a really weird omission given that all you have to do is take 5 seconds and trim the body in order to fix it.
My V3 does that too, I believe turning to the right. Just barely ticks it.
I took my stampede 4x4 and put in an Arrma 4s blx with steel driveshafts and belted tires and it's a freaking blast to run.
Nice!
Fantastic bashing and review, dude! 😃
Crazy truck indeed! I loved it!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
@NahBahDee Thanks, my friend! Stay safe yourself as well! 🖖😊
Thanks you too!
Dang good video buddy! Think this truck is going to be my first Arrma Truck I purchase!
Hey me too! This will be my first arrma truck
I don't even give a disappointed. This is definitely a good gateway into the brand
Excellent video! Great useful information to be had here.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
Big rock 223s is also out. IMO that’s easily the best of the pack. The big rock is very unique blend of SCT and monster truck DNA. The skinny tires allow you to power slide, but the thick sidewalls still give you that monster truck suspension feel. Absolutely love it. Ordering one very soon
I actually didn't really like the big rock. It felt like kind of a bad compromise between a granite and an outcast 4S. Of course It's all about personal preference and I could definitely see why it would be attractive.
@@DoRCto be fair, I think I enjoyed my V3 the most when I had a Traxxas Maxx motor powering it. Regardless of if it was geared up for 3s use or down for 4s use. I could see the stock 3660 motor leaving something to be desired. Also worth noting that the platform is just optimized for stability, not stunts. My bias is definitely against the SWB trucks like the notorious
@dylanwhite6539 ah. I am biased toward the stunt truck so that's probably the difference :-)
Looks like Arrma did pretty good with the upgrades. I love the notch for the tie-rods. That was a nice touch. Does look like the center diff fluid is a little light and can use some tuning.
Yeah they always seem to come a little light from the factory :-)
@@DoRC I suspect they do that because it protects the drivetrain more being loose like that.
Looks cool i like what arrma is doing with there new cars. Just done like the esc being a combo. I love the tear down videos you do on all your cars
Yeah if you're the kind of person that likes to swap out some electronics but not all of them it can be frustrating
nice car for the little ones. I'm excited to see how it does after the upgrades. nice video, as always😊
Stay tuned :-)
Great videos as always. I’m in the middle of building a v3 granite. Got the chassis of eBay hobbywings motor esc combo. First build it’s nice to get familiar to the vehicle instead of getting rtr. Looking forward to the upgrade video!
Yeah there's nothing wrong with that. Building a car definitely helps you to understand how everything works :-)
I love my V3! I got it on a flash sale from Amazon for $249, by far the most bang for the buck of all the machines I own! Its light enough that its pretty tough to break. I am guilty of looking at my machines rather than running them hard, but this truck is the exception. But, I do have a Proline Bronco body with their adjustble posts, so when its shelved it wears the Bronco body :)
The granite does strike a pretty good balance between performance durability and value. Especially at that price it's hard to beat.
These are just great looking and great performing RC trucks!
I agree. They definitely strike a good balance between value performance and durability.
Thx for the parts breakdown!
Thanks for watching!
I'm seeing many engineering similarities to my Kraton 4s... very nice. Great video, as always, thank you very much
They're the same platform so there's going to be a lot of similarities.
I certainly think this might be a huge success for Arrma. So much so that I might try it.
Yeah it's a good one!
Nice, you've got it! My congrats! And my friends are already looking for spare parts...
Yeah stay tuned for the next video. I had some spare parts issues myself :-)
Awesome review. The one thing I will say about the 2in1 is that its very smooth and linear compared to the spectrum/blx stuff.
I completely agree. The old ESC's always had a little bit of a hesitation off the line and these don't.
@@DoRC Yep. Even on a 20t my Typhon 223s doesn't have any cog.
My sons V3 3S is great. I don’t miss the center diff honestly and have only broken one half shaft so far. 50 mph on GPS with a Zee 3s. The body pins are not a big deal
The previous version was a great truck. I think this one's better but there are plenty of people that are happy with the old version
Very cool. Looks good especially for beginners! Awesome review as always!
Thanks Glad you enjoyed!
Nice truck. I recently got my 1/8 typhon and made a brushless conversion to my typhon grom.
Nice!
Yo, DoRC great informative and detailed video on the new Granite. Appears to be very controllable both on the ground and in the air. So many Arrma offerings in the 223S line. Having said that do you have a favorite in that line? Interested to hear your feedback? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. ⭐️🏁⭐️⭐️🏁☃️
It's reasonably controllable. Being a monster truck it kind of inherently is a bit unstable but that's the nature of the beast and for what it is I think it's pretty good.
7:11 I'm excited to see what you have going with the MT12. I was too dumb to figure out how to download Multimodule prereleases until earlier this week so didn't have access to SLT until now. This has led to a ton of experimenting trying to get DCS working with it. I can get it to enable level 1 every once in a while, but nothing more than that.
Yeah I played with it a little bit but without knowing what the transmitter is doing it's kind of hard to know how to program the MT-12. I'm sure it's possible and like you said you've already made progress on it but I couldn't figure it out.
@DoRC I have actually been popping by the GitHub and noticed that the main dev has been asking for a SLT based controller and receiver so that they can get it working fully. They are in France though so effectively getting the gear they need is a bit difficult.
Nice thanks for the video Arrma does it again with another great basher!! Arrma is on top hands down!!!!!
They definitely are making good stuff!
My fav all time 3S basher!!!
Every time I get my hands on one I'm reminded of just how good these cars are.
Granite Grom BLX is what we really want!!!
I'm sure one is coming eventually.
Brilliant review! Thought the top speed might have been a smidge higher as the new Big Rock seems to claim 50mph+. Not sure if it is geared higher?
Claimed top speed is always going to be done on a smooth surface with lots of room for run up. Practical off-road top speed will always be lower. I suspect the granite on road will also hit 50.
Great review i wonder what they are gonna do with the big rock
It also released today.
Thank you for the very informative video!
Thanks for watching!
I've got a 3S Big Rock BLX, a Granite 550 Mega that I'm upgrading, and a 3S Vorteks BLX on the way in my effort to see which configuration I like the most, and which upgrades help make it the most reliable. I love the ability to share so many components, but finding differentiation between models and versions (and which components are the best among them) is a bit of a challenge!
Yeah those three trucks are pretty similar with the granite and the Vorteks being nearly identical
Great deep dive 🎉
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Loving the content. You do great work. I have just started an rc channel. I wanted to Thank you for all the RC information and the insperation. I just posted my first video 😅😅
Sweet I'll check it out!
I knew this would be coming any day now!
Yeah it was inevitable :-)
I just love the relases we're getting this week. Punisher, Bigrock and Granite
And on the racing side a Hobao and new Tekno truggy
Ofcourse im going to ask you to do a comparison between the new Arrmas and the latest Corally since they're sorta around the same price with the RcHobbyexplosion coupon
That's not a bad idea.
Random question are you able to use your laser cutter to make your own diff gaskets? Or is gasket material not a good candidate for laser?
Yes you definitely can. A laser cutter will easily cut paper cork and even silicone sheet. I would go so far as to say that the laser cutter is the best tool for making gaskets
I think its funny in pretty much every video right after you say "it handles well" or "its stable" you always roll it. lol
Yeah I also find that funny :-) keep in mind though that most of the time what you're seeing is my first couple of packs with the car so I'm still kind of trying to figure out how it handles and pushing the limits and whatnot.
very well done and informative Video.i only got 1 question: are you only into Traxxas and Arrma when you talking about the closest competition?otherwise i see no reason why you would not mention the TA Rival MT10 as he is at least on par with the Granite.
To be fair I probably should mention other brands more. I think when you're talking about Traxxas or Arrma The main competition is going to be the other one though simply because people who are looking at one are most likely to also be looking at the other. Brands like TC team associated etc are in there and they're worth looking at but based on parts availability upgrade availability etc Traxxas and Arma kind of stand alone if that makes sense
Looks great, apart from how the fronts balloon wildly with a bit of lively throttle input. Otherwise I look forward to the upgrade content, and see what improves.
Yeah that's just because the center differential doesn't have thick enough fluid in it. Fortunately that's easy to tune
My V3 Granite cried while watching this, and i had to put him in the corner with a grilled cheese sandwich and a juice box.
I'll be the first to admit that I'd take a 2 in one rx\esc in exchange for the rest of those upgrades. Because I don't even want to start calculating how much it cost me to do those on my V3 and still it doesn't have a center diff or that nice body.
The slipper clutch was my biggest gripe and I'd happily use their poo-ey old smelly SLT tx in exchange for the center diff alone.
Way to go, Arrma.
Yeah if you want most or all of the upgrades you have here I think your best bet would probably be to sell your old car and just buy a new one
You have a funny way of writing, made my day
Looks nice, definitely some awesome improvements. Do you prefer this or the Kagama 4s because here the Kagama is only 15% more expensive.
That's a tough one. They're both really good vehicles. I think I would just decide based on whether you want something that's smaller and more handy or larger and more stable.
@@DoRC have you seen the new punisher 4s? Looks like it's absolutely the same as the kagama 4s except the body.
@TheSaintBoss Yes that's why you didn't see any information from me on it. It is identical to the Kagama other than the body and slightly different body mounts to accommodate the different body.
Curious to see how those ProLine shocks do. Reviews on them are terminally mixed. Thanks for wrenching for us.
Stay tuned!
Absolutely Prefect
It's a pretty good truck.
2 videos, I had to flip a coin to decide which one to watch first.
Stay tuned more to come :-)
Great video. I just subscribed to the channel. My question do you think these body posts from the new 223 as vortex and granite will fit on the older ones so I could throw on the new body?
I was just thinking when this would be dropping today while I was out making a video. Today has been a good day. The new Corally Punisher 4s, and now this. #gootimes
Definitely some awesome cars coming out lately!
Traxxas vxl stamped for sure!
For sure. You either go with the one that's the same price and get a lot fewer features or you go with one that has the same features and is way more expensive.
If u use a aspirin pill while soldering on the coated motor wires it makes it so its easy to solder. I dont know why it works.. i just know that it does..
It works because the ingredients in the pill, when subjected to high heat break down into a couple of fairly strong acids. Those acids dissolve the enamel coating.
@DoRC sweet.. all i know is its definitely the way to go if u gotta do it
This week the arrma granite v23 😊
:)
You should see if the new chassis will accept the 4s diff without grinding away the excess plastic like the old one. Though it will probably be easier on the big rock since it's the LWB chassis. Still would be great to know if it would be worth it to upgrade my old big rock 3s chassis to better accommodate the center diff.
It definitely will. The differential that comes in this is identical to the ones that come in the 4S vehicles.
Need to pre order one asap
Do it!
how would you compare this too the mt10? awsome video
I say they're pretty similar. I think this one has the edge due to upgrade ability and availability of parts but they're both really good trucks.
@@DoRC awsome thank you for ur reply.. m2c has came out with the upgraded hinged pins and motor mount plate for the mt10 should fix its weak spot after the arms
To me it seems to be like the Vortex V2 with a Granite body. Am I wrong? Great video😊
The vortex and the granite are essentially identical other than the body bumpers wheels and tires.
I wanna see vendetta next with this new lineup change that be awesome
Yeah it'll be interesting to see if they put the center differential in it. It's not quite as important with on road cars especially smaller ones but we shall see
@DoRC yup arrma is surprising us all
That looks awesome I love my Granite
They are really good trucks.
Yay!! Can I have the old one? 😂
I don't actually have that one anymore.
@@DoRCahh oh well! Btw it does look like the front knuckles are totally different. At least compared to my v3 vorteks
@magnusstone Yeah they are updated. I don't think it's a dramatic change at least it doesn't look like in the pictures but they did a bunch a little updates to these
We have 3 V3 granites. 1 for me and 2 for the kids. They are blast on 3s and can take a beating, especially with a few upgrades. Mine has 6s shocks, big rock arms, 25kg servo, and rear Hot racing diff clam shells. Just got a Oktay front bumper and slipper plates to add. I hate how the bumper grabs the ground on under rotation flips.
Yeah it can be a bit grabby.
Glad to see they’ve beefed up the back of the body. I wonder if the new body mounts would fit on the old Granite, I’d rather do that than buy a whole new one!
You might need to buy the new upper bulkheads as well though it looks like they're in the same spot.
Looks great, but the chassis slap tho...
Arma coming out with a Granite 223 makes me feel fairly certain that the Kraton is next. Hopefully sooner than later because I'm considering getting another mini eRevo but these look infinitely easier to work on.
This is actually the one 10th scale but yes the Groms are easier to work on
Great video as always im so stuck on what to do i have a Vortex&Big Rock v3. Then when the v4 came out i wanted a typoon more until i see the BG v4. But i dont own a granite either maybe i should get it. Wish i could affrd all 4.
same man, i got a senton and v3 vorteks. but i’m stuck between a typhon or this new granite for my next one. are you more of a basher?
The Granite should be a different enough driving experience from what you already have that it would be worthwhile to own.
I give you granite 40 bucks 😂 you need everything
@RcPlayer-tt2vw what version i have chargers batteries and and radiolink remote
Saweeet!!! I gotta get me one!❤
It's definitely a pretty sweet truck.
cool video. you had a lot of positive things to say about that rig. Is this video, or are you sponsored by Arrma?
When it comes with a pile of branded parts, I always assume they got it for free.
I'm not sponsored by them though I did get this car for the purpose of the review. That being said beyond the natural bias we all have I do try to be as fair as possible. These 3S granite trucks are some of the most versatile vehicles you can get and most of the complaints I previously had about them have been addressed in this version so honestly there's just not that much bad to say about them. That you in one system is a bummer if you're the kind of person that will upgrade the ESC but not the receiver or vice versa and the fact that the tires at the body is kind of a head scratcher but overall it's a really good truck
"seems really stable for a monster truck too" as the car rolls in the distance lolol
my biggest issue on these 3s and 4s (older ones) cars were the diffs and slipper clutch and those seem have been taken care of. the metal pinion gear combined with the center diff should make the drivetrain last practically forever on 3s, and tuning a center diff is way better than a slipper clutch for handling. i do have concerns over the 2-1 esc and the extra weight from the components. on a swb granite it shoudnt be too bad but i remember the lwb cars liked to crack and break their chassis especially if you added weight, which the center diff definetly does. all in all tho this seems to be pretty much the 1/10th scale basher king the 3s platform shoudve been at release.
Yeah it seems like me saying that in a video causes some sort of poltergeist which makes the truck roll over. Normally I'll go back and re-record it but I just couldn't be bothered in this case :-)
And yeah this drive train should definitely last longer than the old ones did
Well the first new Arrma I like the looks of.
It's a good looking truck :-)
How are those cvd drive shafts holding up? Are you on your 3rd set yet 😂.the upgrade ones cost 45 dollars a set, and that alone will set you back $100. Granite is my favorite 1/10 truck, even more than Maxx, but It can't take the abuse like the Maxx does. It looks like Arrma has addressed alot of the issues, and I will wait until I hear some more report before I get one.
Stay tuned:)
Awe man I should have waited for that!
Fortunately pretty much everything is direct swap compatible so you can upgrade what you have.
@DoRC I have the newest arrma Tyhon... I might turn it into a big rock
Looks cool for sure but i would love to see a whole new platform instead of cars that have been around for years with small minor upgrades. Arrma Granite V34 2050 Edition. Lol :)
Yeah there are advantages and disadvantages to that. Anytime a new platform comes out it's going to have problems and whereas a fourth version of an existing platform isn't as exciting it is going to be more reliable and often a great value.
@ for sure man totally agree. Would just be nice to see something totally new. Traxxas do the same they have been recycling their models with new bodies and colours instead of giving us a new platform which will take time to get right but would be worth it in the long run. Great vid as always just my thoughts of course!
@beyondRC I completely agree. There's nothing more exciting than a new platform!
Buy a car from a different brand . That's your answer
What platform do you want that is missing? What do you need that Arrma doesn't offer? These cars are extremely tough and easy to work on.
I appreciate they are continuing to perfect an already fantastic design.
Arrma Has Been On Their Game Lately.
For sure :-)
Since we have similar soil pull the center diff and check the bearings My V2 Kraton eats a set every time I take it out that center diff in a module is a bad design it acts like a vacuum sucks all the sand into it
I have since then and didn't have any problems with it.
@DoRC good info hopefully something changed or 4s is putting down more power creating more vacuum I dont know I destroy a set every run
Ooooohhh, that looks purdy.! 😉 😉
I love it when manufacturers keep evolving & making changes to an already decent platform. (while keeping cost cutting to a minimum while still remaining affordable)😉
Each version is slightly better than the last & if they listen to the buyers & get it right, you should eventually end up with an awesome RC.!! 👍 👍 👍
There's an argument to be made for an entirely new platform, it certainly generates excitement... But new platforms often come with small problems (sometimes HUGE problems, Traxxas 😉)
Hence the evolution process.. It's a Chicken & Egg kind of thing.. Kinda.! 😉
THANK YOU.!!
Another great video.!! 👍 👍 👍
Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍
For sure. A new platform is obviously the most exciting but there's something to be said for a well-refined truck!
@DoRC Absolutely.!! 👍 👍 👍
I'll take evolution over revolution.! 😉 😉
Honestly, I really dont like the 2in1 esc/reciever combos. The first thing I always do after a short test drive is changing the reciever for my remote control.
Other than that a really good truck, but in my situation no buy since I already gave the TA MT10.
Apart from that, I am still waiting on the Granite Grom Brushless😂
Yeah if you're in the demographic where you would replace one but not the other The two-in-one would definitely be a bummer.
Granite my favorite ❤️
It's a pretty good truck.
Nice car bro
It is very cool!
Wonder if I can mod the clipless system onto my old Granite
I don't see why not. You might need to get the updated upper bulkheads but other than that it should work fine
Waiting for v3 Mojave 6s 😅
Yeah hopefully we'll get updated versions of everything
Arrma TOP!
They do seem to be providing a pretty good combination of price and performance.
How many versions of the same car are we going to get? Pretty soon it’ll be on V10😂. No hate here just wish we could get a new platform.
New platforms are definitely more exciting but these refinements of current platforms make for really reliable vehicles
Hey man what’s better this vehicle in blx new form or the big rock blx???? Or they both same except for wheels size and body???
They're similar though the Big Rock is longer and wider. This is going to make it a bit more stable though a bit less stuntable. Under the hood mechanically they're going to be pretty much identical so really it's a matter of which one you think looks the best and whether you want something that's going to be a bit more stable or something that's going to be a bit more stuntable.
Will the clipless body mount fit on the old arrma granite 4x4 blx ?
I believe so but the upper bulkheads are also a new part number so you might need those. They look the same where they mount but they could be different.
The key difference between mod gears and pitch gears, is that mod is metric. I was hoping you’d mention that.
Good call. I was more focused on the practical differences than the technical side but that would have been worthwhile to mention.
🐐
Thanks for watching!
I was wondering just exchanging parts to my V3 granite would that work instead of buying a new RC?!
Yes you should be able to interchange whichever parts you want though things like the center differential could need slight modification to your current chassis.
IMO the slipper clutch in the v3 made these a very hard sale vs the traxxas cars. Now, V4 is crushing it. The stampede VXL does have a bigger motor, but none of the other Traxxas competition do (unless you pit the jato 4s against the Typhon 3s) but you still have the HCG chassis and unusable servo. I definitely want to own one from the lineup for myself but I would feel comfortable recommending these over trx
Yeah based on either price or features this thing definitely has the stampede beaten.
Love the center diff addition, the only thing missing is widening it just a bit. It is definitely a great upgrade for no extra cash. I wonder if I can pick up another V3 cheap...
ps Would you pick this over the Redcat Valkyrie?
Stay tuned on the widening :-)
Probably. The Valkyrie is bigger but I think this is better quality overall.
Derby city said he liked the vorteks better please do a comparison video
There's not a whole lot to compare between the two. They're pretty much the same car just with different tires a different body and different bumpers. The somewhat lower center of gravity will make the Vorteks handle a bit better and the somewhat higher center of gravity will make the granite a bit more stuntable
What was that noise during the bash. Was it the tires hitting the body or gears
It's the tires hitting the body. I forgot to mention it in the video but I do mention it in the next one :-)
This is definitely a better version of the granite. I like the clipless body system and all of the upgrades. The most thorough review of rc's fresh out the box. Great Video.
Glad you enjoyed!
@DoRC yea just wondering if all the upgrades cost up there w ol traxxas🤣
Between the 223S 4x4’s, would you say the Granite, Vorteks, or Big Rock is overall more bash friendly, namely regarding stunt/air control?
If you're wanting to do stunts I think the granite is your best bet. It's short wheelbase high CG fairly large tire design gives it better air control than the other options though the big rock and the vortex will be more stable on the ground.
@@DoRC I have 223S electronics coming in for my son's brushed Stampede 4x4. Depending on how that works out I may be looking at the Granite for him. Or I guess a Vorteks with heavier/larger tires might give it more air control?
@jrmbtr The granite tires are actually quite a bit larger than the Vorteks ones and will give you better air control
@@DoRC I think you mentioned in another video about the DSC not working on an electronics swap. I am experiencing that with Typhon 223S 1/8 electronics I put in my son’s Stampede - the DSC turns the tires the opposite direction that it should. Are you aware of a way to resolve that?
I just did the bind instructions. I think that may have fixed it.
So can I bind to a different radio? Say a dx6c spektrum 6 channel?
Unfortunately no. The only transmitter that it works with currently is the 4-in-one version of the MT-12 as it has universal capability.
Do any of the new parts fit on the older version like the body mount system.
Yeah pretty much anything is compatible. You might need to get the new upper bulkhead shock towers to fit the new body but it all should be compatible
Also the motor mount system with the center diff. I was just about to put an outcast power module in my granite.
@@andrewbrown8927 Yeah it's the same as the 4S ones. You might need to do a slight bit of modification to the chassis to make it fit if you have the old chassis but it will fit
@DoRC awesome thank you. This is another reason to like arrma. Making things backwards compatible is a huge plus.
Somewhat related question, what do you use to keep everything clean when doing diffs and especially shocks? I’ve been using paper towels and it gets lint in my shocks.
Mostly paper towels. It probably does get some lint in there but I usually just sort of ignore those problems :-)
What I dont like about the 223s Arrmas is the much shorter battery trays, due the the motor module housing the centre diff. I have a number of batteries that are to long to fit in these new shorter battery trays. One thing I liked about the older Arrma's, you never had any trouble fitting any size packs in.
Yeah unfortunately that is a downside to the short wheelbase with the center differential. I think it's worth the trade-off but I also have batteries that fit
