First look at the Arrma Granite 4x4 223S BLX! It's been 4 years since the last Granite 4x4, and there have been a lot of updates! Let's see how good the truck is!

Wow really liking the new releases from Armma. The the value you get with their kits and not needing to upgrade electronics immediately is something I feel sets them apart. Nice work!
Like the other commenter I also got the Vorteks 4x4 223s BLX after watching your videos with different models.
I have been driving it a few weeks at the bike park similar to your park but taking significantly less air and so far it has been mostly great.
On the positive side it looks and sounds great and is at times scary fast for bike park use. I did break the top off my rear shock and bent the front shock shaft on the 3rd day and ended up replacing them with some proline shocks that are much beefier and stiffer than stock making it much smoother on transition jump landings.
I also got the "boost box" extended suspension arms which made it much more stable which I definitely recommend.
I would definitely buy it again and appreciate your videos giving some good real world use footage.
I got the vorteks based on your videos and I'm definitely buying this granite and big rock 223s ASAP

@RazorRC I love it, been crushing the sk8 park and this high vibe pink and purple vorteks 223s is tough as nails. Teaching my son how to drive and control it especially in the air, has been fun to watch. I will be ordering all the 223s I feel like before it's over. I'm digging on the center diff and the clippless body.
@RazorRC how do you feel this new granite stacks up to the vorteks? which one are you taking with you if their brand new and you gotta choose?
I've got a special place for the Granite because it was my first Arrma and is more of a stunt machine. I like the acrobatics!

Great review and just like anything I get the version I want or upgrade comes out within a month after me getting the previous but This is the only model of Only 3s Arrma I have never owned or built from used parts over the past 3 years, never owned new 1... My vortex BLX is the only one I still have rocking after 2 years and however long before that with the previous seller, but bulletproof compared to other brands I had the privilege of trying. One day I will have a granite brushless that I don't have to assemble through parts hopefully, if only disability paid more and covered this on the insurance ha!

Mine too. I just ordrered the Big Rock.
Once the ones I have wear out to the point of replacement heck yeah . The granite and big rock both are awesome with a 4s outcast combo , 17mm hexes and 4s lps , wide kits but big rock has the wide arms . So much better and can still bottom out . Some toner upgrades like steel diffs but in the summer on 3s stays pretty cool if heat is an issue . It’s worked so far anyways going with a higher esc and rocket fan . Plus running them on 4s is almost like a 4s outcast but not quite 😂. Yeah , check it out if you get bored or it’s gets sluggish . I think that’s what happened is it s fast enough for a kcrc and ripping and gets good air when I first got it and got used to that and then tried the 4s lps on all stock stuff and really liked it . I was worried about breaks for awhile but haven’t had any in half a year . Then I got used tot he 4s tires and wanted to actually try it on 4s with a paired combo and it’s the G spot !

This looks sweet. I like the updates. They pretty much corrected all the issues. Razor, do you think the driveshafts will hold up better in this version versus the last?
Honestly, I never broke a driveshaft in the past.
I was into the hobby in the early eighties to very beginning of 2000’s.
I jumped back into it 2 or 3 years ago.

I wonder if they thickened up the motor plate. That’s the only thing that caused a failure for me ! And I’m glad to see the reenforced tailgate area of the body, mine shredded after 3 packs! I hope they sell the body mounts separately, I would like to add that setup to my existing Granite.
The motor plate got thickened I think in the V3's IIRC, it went from 5mm->6mm.

The granite was such a badass truck I had the original in Orange and it was one of my favorites when I traded it in to get the Typhon 3s I wasn't displeased though

The center diff is the nicest improvment they made. Im not a fan of these 2 in 1 receiver/esc combos on these bigger rcs though.
So I changed the last granite to big rock and I think I liked the granite better for off a ramp . Could be just me but I think it s a better jumper . I run the wide kit and 4s backflips on both with the outcast combo on 3s
The bumpers and skid plates are one piece now. Good for bouncing off stuff, bad for replacing worn out skid plates. Overall a lot of great improvements. Most are already installed in my V1 Granite. The best 1/10th MT just got better?

I like the Granite better, but I like to jump it 30ft., so... the Vorteks is better on the ground.
@RazorRC if you were to put Granite shocks on the Vorteks, I wonder if it would flip a little better and still keep it's stability on the ground? Maybe a little bit bigger tire too?

I'm really torn between this or the Vorteks. My original Granite 3s has really had the living poop beat out of it and hardly anything is original anymore. My Typhon kinda became a donor and slowly disappeared so that the Granite could just kept on bashing. In a seriousness, I'm pretty rough on all my cars but I always seemed to really dish it out on the Granite. It was almost like a challenge at times to really damage it. That rear of the body was just always mashed. I do have the typhon arms now. I want that center oil diff though!!!
Well as I have the v3 I think I'm going with the team corally kagama 4 s maybe a vortex , I'm not a brand shill but I do always have fun with an Arrma.

Arrma been on fire the last 18 months. Now we just need the rest of the 6s line getting the v6 Kraton and Notorious treatment and new bigger 8s exb Typhon and Mojave and they'll be set for a while.
Does the stability control stay in last set position, or do you have to set it every time you turn it on?

Personally frustrated with Arrma, the wheels can still fall off randomly with the CVD/wheel axle design on the 223S vehicles. It is a known issue that the screws can back out on the wheel axles, but in my case the screw itself sheared. My wheel is now off and the axle has a sheared screw stuck in it.
Of course...I just bought the V3 to get into RC. 😢
If you got the mega; upgrade to center diff module. If you got the BLX, enjoy it. It's the exact same truck. I recently got the mega granite dirt cheap on sale FULLY planning on putting the center diff in it. And with the price of the truck and the diff, it's cheaper than the new version. Only other thing is adjustable turnbuckles, which is pointless for 99% of people buying it, as it is a basher, not a race truck.
It happens, but hopefully you got a good deal! The V3 is nothing to sneeze at.

The bigrock 3s now is an EV. Yuck. The granite looks better now with the colours. Im tired being shoved EV down my throat and now the back of the bigrock screams EV to me😑. Does the old body fit?
