I will never understand the arguement where ppl defend matchmaking being fuking rigged AF when they literally can set up that one side has average higher mmr players.
red side always had MMR advantage because of blue side pick advantage,and better position,Riot probably forgot to remove that from red side after new map changes.

Riot fucked up by letting the game be so toxic in early seasons and it became normalised.
Most players are babies and shouldn’t play ranked while the people who are truly competitive and try to win every game suffer.
There is no incentive to not be toxic or try your best, if I don’t suck, mental boom or FF the system should match me with similar players.

a problem that only affects high elo. matchmaking being rigged isnt keeping you from climbing out of silver. or gold. or plat. or emerald. or diamond. or even masters. This is an issue to a very small group of people - and it should be fixed for those people.

99.9999999999 % of players will be on either side close enough to 50 % of the time. It doesn't matter for anyone that isn't at the top of challenger or at the bottom of Iron.

I still don't get why Riot doesn't just mirror the map 1:1 and then rotates the camera 180° for red side so you always play as if on blue side, just the drake and baron pits would be swapped from game to game but we know how to use a minimap... Oh, wait, they'd need to make textures for the backside of walls, that's why: it'd require some work XD
They do this exact thing in WildRift. It tells u when u start a match by saying "the lanes are switched"
It does take away top and bot in name and makes them Baron lane and Dragon lane
riot as an indie company simply cannot afford the resources to do that unfortunately
they wouldnt even have to do any texturing, the whole map is already textured, as can be seen in the unlocked camera in the spectator tool. so basically, it hasnt happened because riot is lazy

Honestly, getting your key taken home in the trophy of the player who beat you feels like it would be a good consolation. They got to choose 3 players they defeated to show off, and they considered you worthy of that list. Recognition as a worthy foe.

Let's be honest, trophies are taken because they look good, not out of respect to the opponent. It's an ego stroke. If you want to show your respect a handshake is often enough to suffice. To encase the opponent's crushed key in a trophy to immortalize your victory is just pure vanity.

On wild rift there is no red or blue side you both have the exact same game POV and the map just mirrors
You can have duo in top lane and solo in bottom its completely random
League player base has a short memory. All MOBAs started out exactly as you describe. They developed into the meta we have today. The truth is this: no type of champ is obligated to do anything in any particular lane. Toplane is not just for bruisers, midlane is not just for casters etc. If you, the player can make it work, then do it. There is no use in complaining about things that do not affect 99% of the playerbase.

I would love to see a separation of pick order and side selection, meaning at the start of the game two things are rolled: who get's first and last pick, and who gets what side. I think this would also enable riot to balance these two separately as need be.
Rival said it the best, ppl are much better at playing red side now, plus map changes. This MMR thing should just go away. And pick order should stay the same.

When comparing 2 numbers in percents, you say that the difference between them is in percentage points. So the difference between winrates on different sides of rift is 6 procentage points.
47% vs 53% is not 6% diff, it's almost 13%, so it's much worse. Edit: to the people complaining, 0.53/0.47 ~ 1.13
Meaning your expected chances of winning on redside are 13% higher compared to blue side. I was unclear in original comment, didn't state relative winrate.

Dota has this too and changes between major patches, the normal difference/gap is 7%. It's no different from how in chess, black has lower win rate.

This trophy is amazing. They embodied heartbreak with seeing the key crushed but also respect/competitive spirit with selecting 3. This is just amazing IMO.

We have ADCs on Mid and APs on Top, Jungle, and Bot (Support and Carry).
Champions that are meant to be a jungler is in D tier while AP champions that are meant for other lanes is S tier.

It's actually more of an honor to keep your keys in a special place, rather than in a drawer with all the other crushed keys. It kinda makes you stand out, even after being defeated by a worthy opponent.
To me, having your key chosen would be a sign of respect, like “you’re one of the three players I’m most proud of defeating”

HOT TAKE: they should revert the mid lane wave changes from a bit ago to re-incentivize priority roams and coordinated jg/mid ganks and dives on side lanes.
The problem is not adcs being OP and mages being weak. The issue is that the comparative advantage mages have of range, pushing and wave control is completely useless with the farm fest it is mid. ADCs scale like mad, and that’s all mid is now, so why not play champs that just scale better.
That entire patch when they added the wave changes ruined so much of the game for me, Made respawn timers make solo kills near worthless and ruined top and mid roam timers.
I was always certain that losers queue isn't something that Riot intentionally created but just one of their systems having a minor bug which results in unfairly balanced teams. This red/blue winrate discrepancy only makes me more certain of this, or maybe it is exactly that bug which causes that phenomenon.

This game should have been set up as playable from one side only, with positions mirrored so that everyone feels like they are on the same side.

Actually losers queue has been a official thing for some time in WR at least, we even had a patch trying to balance it because people found ways to exploit the system

6% more wins sounds a bit misleading, since they are not independent. 3% more wins automatically makes the other side -3%.

I don't actually think it feels bad to have your key at the bottom of the trophy. One one hand, sure you wanted to be the winner, but on the other, that means that the winners thought of you as a worthy opponent. Out of every team that they left in the dust, they considered that your key was worth displaying together with their own.
Red side always gets the last pick which is much better in SoloQ. A lot of people want to play their favorite champ, being blue side means u have to play what’s broken for the first pick and not much people gonna do that. Meaning u won’t get a broken first pick and still get counter picked.

1-EWC(esports world cup) has in my opinion been taken away forever. Its not a world cup because its not country vs country like normal sports. Its Org vs Org and sadly i think the name was chosen just to drive numbers and money. I have always wondered when will esports be as big as physical sports and when will i get to support my country even though we will suck.
2-i love the lane swap meta for the simple reason that teams are looking for wins everywhere. Its very hard to enjoy the same champion vs champion every game in esports especially since theres so much to watch these last few years. Its important to adapt because i know we all love T1 but its human nature to want to watch underdogs overcome odds. Hope fearless drafts become a thing of the future aswell. And remember that its a team game. So stop putting each role against each role all the time. Sometimes you get senna and go 5k down in gold other times u have to fight a rumble as a tank. Let them swap as much as they want and enjoy the popcorn
As 53/47 is about 1.13, red side wins 13% more games. However it’s 6 percentage points more.
They will do anything to fix red blue side problem instead of making league players able to put their uhd on top of the screen
Okay, I dont know if this would fix anything, since obviously, a lot of things look like they would work on paper, but in real life, the stats may show otherwise, but why not just go with the Clash/pro style of picking champions, as well as have the two last picks pick at the same time. This way, each side gets 2 counterpicks, and the last pick on each team doesnt get a counterpick.
Imo this trophy is an amazing concept, really represents the "on top of everyone" aspect of winning. If you lose and get upset your token is encased in the winner's trophy, that's on you, you failed, you should have been better, that's all. I like it a lot.

I wish they’d have a camera option like Wild Rift, where no matter what side you’re on it looks the same side wise.
Controversial take here- It would definitely have some growing pains, but LoL switch their map up for a future season to be more like Heroes of the Storm's Cursed Hollow map would be a GAME changer. That map is the largest one in that game, and is effectively SR at a 45° angle, and slightly rounded (minus a river). This means it has plenty of room for jungle camps and space between lanes, and no matter whether you're left side or right side, you're playing at an angle that is advantageous for a wide screen monitor, no matter what lane you're in. Riot clearly experimented with this with Nexus Blitz, but that's just a 2 lane version. A gigantic 3-lane version would revolutionize this game forever and kill the Red/Blue debate for good.

As a casual player who just likes to have fun, I miss old league where things were less balanced, XP was less relevant, and dying once on top lane didn't mean FF15. League used to be so chill, now people are giving away 3 kills just to get a single minion wave and still come out on top due to being half a level ahead. Or Baus getting bannable scores but manipulating XP gains and losses so that he can still come out on top. If you told a 2012 player that inting would result in winning, they'd be so confused.
