My dad is a big Puma fan boy, he’s been that way since coming back to East Germany from Yugoslavia in the early 80’s when he was ~13, however he did own a pair of absolutes and he still really loves them.
I wore these when I was in high school. The press are my favorite boot of all time, the look, the feel, the color ways, the design, the tongue,just an amazing boot. Kids these days will never know what it was to wear these.

Personal favorite predators ever were the Predator Powerswerves in the UCL colorway... BUT these had incredible colorways. Especially in gold for the World Cup, and gold and white just for ZiZou.
I do have an OG pair in all black with red accent & red folded out tongue. What I've noticed the biggest difference is the roominess of the toe box in the remake. The nice thing about the Absolute is how sleek it looked, really like a sports car with a classic Adidas wedge like profile but this remake has a lot more rounded front, making it much more bulky looking. Once the leather stretches, the forefoot is going to be slicing all over the place. I also love the "semi gloss vs high gloss" upper material contract, which is lacking in the remake, everything is too shiny and is why you get a cheap looking feel compared to the OG. Another small detail that they've missed is the elastics that hold down the lace cover is actually 2 tone. Mine is black on one side with the Predator branding embroidered in red, then red on the reverse side. Overall the OG feels much more premium than this remake. I was lucky I stumbled onto my pair in a warehouse sales almost 10 years ago for ONLY $80 Canadian.
My feet are super wide so the lacing system looks messed up but I do wanna play with these when spring comes around, I might put thinner laces in my pair to keep in line with the ‘updated’ aesthetic

Hi! First and foremost, I would just say keep practicing!! Work on it or whatever you want to be better at, work at it everyday. You’ll see results just be patient. As someone who loves shoes, I can tell you the shoe won’t matter or even help you get better. Are others more comfortable than some? Of course. It all depends what feels good for you. But if you have a skinny foot then I’d say give the mercurials a try! Nike has a great 60 day return policy if you buy from them. You can return them at any store as well. Remember your position shouldn’t matter when deciding on a shoe. So good luck! No matter what shoe you choose. And remember to keep practicing!!
Your football boots/soccer cleats won’t improve anything,mate.. the only best advice I can give you is just keep practicing and grinding until you’re good at it plus watch videos on certain defenders like Sergio Ramos,Virgil Van Dijk,Harry Maguire(I know he can be shit but his long passings are good) and a few more to improve. Football boots are the least of your worries and you should choose based on what is comfortable on your feet not based on your position.
As a defender,I’ve worn literally every every type of football boots in the locker. From ultra lightweight and thin boots like the Mizuno Morelia Neo,Nike mercurials or adidas f50 adizeros to something comfortable and padded leather uppers like the Mizuno Rebulas,Nike Tiempo Legends and adidas adipure along with synthetic ones like CTr360,Magista Opus or T90s from Nike or even classic predators specifically(absolute and powerswerve) even despite such number of boots I’m still the same player as I once was and still is. So don’t stress on,lad wore what’s comfortable for you and that’s what I did
I wish it was not white, or at least that it is not an og colourway. It should be a law that Pred remakes should first be released in black, red and white first, iconic colourways second and lastly the other real colourways Also the whole point was the Power Pulse system, cannot believe they removed it. They better not commit that heresy with the Powerswerve.......
