If there's one football boot that Adidas has protected over the last 50 years, it's the Copa Mundial. It's still made in Germany and you can still buy what is arguably the most legendary football boot ever! Limited edition colorways have been available here and there, but for the most part, if you wanted a Copa Mundial, you had to buy the OG. That is until now.
In today's video we take a closer look at what is more or less a modern "remake" of the classic Copa, the limited edition Adidas Copa Mundial 20, which is one of two boots featured in the Eternal Class pack. It combines a modified Copa Mundial upper and the modern Copa 20+ soleplate, but here's the most shocking part, they aren't made in Germany! No doubt they look cool, but are they any good, and for $100 more than the OG, are they an actual improvement? I answer these questions and more. Does this count as a real Copa Mundial?

Pretty awesome release! Heel tab looks weird without the OG logo. Would have liked to have seen them update the laces to the same shape but better not so easily pulled material (or just some SR4Us)

Hey Josh, you should bring back to little part in the on feet review where you lace up the boots. I don't know why but you tieing the laces on a pair of football boots was so satisfying to watch. I don't know if this was just me lol. Keep up the good work

Hi josh. How does the sizing on the Copa mundial “remakes” compare to the current Copa 20? I have Copa 20s in size 42 eu and they’re getting too tight in the mid foot so I want to buy the remakes. What size would you recommend? (I’m 14 so I don’t want it to fit super tight out of the box.)

This White LE is my 3rd pair of Copa Mundial, the other 2 pairs are Classic Black and Brazil WC LE which are both my favorites. The heel padding of this White LE is very thick and hard which is totally different from the previous ones and this hurt so much and causes blisters on my heels. Anyone have the same problem?

Love copas but they suck on turf and firmer grass which is all I have to play on. Thought about finding a cobbler to put a tiempo soleplate on my copas, but that would be morally wrong. The grip would be great though...

I was looking forward to this review and was wondering if these were made in Germany. I do believe it is a fail not having this made in Germany yet asking a higher price. Also I am not happy about the heel at all. It does look bulky compared to the OG. I appreciate you pointing these quirks out. Unfortunately I’m going to pass on this release...as much as I love my OG copas.
Put it in black, and I might be a fan. I have never been a fan of the old school rolo stud pattern of the copas.
I also would have preferred black. I do like the conical studs tho. The OG studs are actually quite comfortable. Made out of that rubbery material which may help.

Definitely not! You'd likely need a 10.5 or 11 in modern Copas.
Josh I wear a size 12. Am I just blind or did they REALLY only make them up to a size 11.5, when they make literally EVERYTHING in a size 12. But if they don’t, would it be too uncomfortable going down a half size?

Those shared almost nothing with the original other than some styling cues, so I'd say they didn't count as a true Copa Mundial.

The classic copa mundial is still the greatest football boot ever made. I give props to Adidas for at least making modernized copa and stick to upper leather. I used to like the Nike Tiempo Legend but the latest models have less and less leather. Nike need to bring back all leather upper Tiempo.

The sole plate curling over literally destroys the touch of the Copa & other classic boots.
First contact with the ball should be kangaroo over the foot....NOT a plastic chopping board pretending to be a football boot.
This cannot be remedied because the modern sole plate must curl over otherwise it cannot not be glued on.
BTW ...Adidas Germany only makes the original Copas ( & made to measure specials ? ).

I 20+ is a special pair of boots, although not for everyone. The 20.1 is solid in a lot of ways, but has some design quirks that I don't care for. There are reviews for both of them up on my channel if you're looking for more detailed overall opinions.
