- Central London saw thousands of Tommy Robinson supporters gather on Saturday 1 June, with demonstrators in balaclavas waving St George's flags and setting off smoke canisters.
Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, called for the protest demanding Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley resign over what Robinson claims is London's 'two-tier policing' system.
The Met Police reported identifying individuals in the crowd linked to 'football violence' and anti-lockdown protests.
As demonstrators marched down Millbank, some let off smoke flares and air horns. Footage shows a Robinson supporter in a grey Nike hoodie being arrested by police, escorted away by three officers.
Police confirmed two arrests near Parliament Square: one for 'drunk and disorderly behaviour and assaulting an emergency worker,' and another involving 'racial abuse' towards a woman.
Earlier, nine members of the counter-protest group Nine Youth Demand were arrested for allegedly refusing to stay on the pavement. They had aimed to block roads in support of a Gaza ceasefire and another protest was organised by Stand Up To Racism.

There was 2 Leftwing morons planted to cause trouble yards away from where I was standing in Parliament Square but security ( or bouncers?) dealt with it quickly. The protest was peaceful. I am not a fan of the MET but they did well to keep the leftwing loony’s out but they can’t keep everyone out. The patriots responded very positive when the 2 Left Wing plants stated causing trouble among us. The Left wing loony’s were accusing the patriots of being under cover cops to try to turn the patriots against each other.

I'm a 76 year old English woman concerned about the way this country is going and proudly attended the rally yesterday. By the way, I am not a far right fascist although they like to call us that. Although the police kept a lowish profile they were out in force and were geared up for trouble in the way they were dressed. They did try to stop me and others getting to Parliament Square by shutting off Whitehall etc. saying that perhaps I would be safer with the anti-racist mob! How dare they try to tell me how I should think. I'm too old to have been brainwashed at a young age as they probably have been.

I don't believe Tommy has changed at all. He was always on the side of fairness and putting England/Britain first. The fact that the Met Police felt the need to put out this tweet about the rally just proves Tommy’s point about two tier policing.

I am a 62yr old grandmother who went to the rally on my own because I am so fed up of the way this country is going and the hypocrisy. Extreme Islamists are taking to London streets every week and nothing is said about them. There was no trouble that I could see amongst the thousands that attended. I didn’t take part in any demonstration during lockdown down, neither am I a football fan/hooligan. And not a drop of alcohol passed my lips. The Police did take a back seat so this tweet from the met is very disappointing. We had a great day and there is more to come because people are waking up.

And i support that rally, i watched all the lives from Tousi tv, Shady Shae, etc, who were there in the rally, Tousi made a speech there, Shady Shae is black, and Tousi tv is Iranian. Niyak Ghorbani was even there and made a speech and he's also a brown Iranian guy. How on earth are people still calling rallies like this 'far right', 'football hooligans', 'racist' etc, it is anything but that. To call my brown self, Shady Shae a black man, and Tousi and Niyak two brown Iranian men, to call us what? Are we racists? We're talking about Tousi and Shady Shae, a brown man and a black man who support this movement and supported this rally and combined have 1.2 million viewers.
