I know Echo Park and neighboring areas have seen rapid gentrification in recent years- which is not necessarily a bad thing but it’s definitely lost some of its original character as a result. I know Paige wanted to show her parents neighborhood in a recent video (but didn’t over privacy concerns), so it would be cool to see the more diverse side of EP/SL in a video from her point of view since she seems excited about it :)
@@alittlebitofjessica interesting to plainly say that gentrification isn't necessarily a bad thing... there is notable change that happens to the area and maybe that's what doesn't seem so bad, but do you realize that with gentrification means people get pushed out of their community? and by people, particularly lower income minorities. I know that they do not go around saying that gentrification isn't necessarily such a bad thing when the wealthy folks spot this cool neighborhood and take up space and drive up costs which pushes the minorities out... Traditionally there were very few Black people in those neighborhoods, but I’m with you. They were predominantly Mexican. Boyle Heights, Echo Park, and all the older L.A. neighborhoods are rapidly gentrifying. Los Feliz, Silverlake and those towns really signify old L.A. in a palpable way. Some of L.A.’s best Spanish Colonial homes are there as well as hills, views, downtown adjacency, etc. Just like in other major cities across the country, the culture is disappearing. Developers are tearing down the old courtyard bungalow apartments from the teens and 20s that were once a Los Angeles architectural staple to build ugly, soulless high rise apartments that all look alike and have zero green space. I’m thankful to have been here when people in suburbs like Compton, Watts, Pasadena, Glendale, and Altadena had livestock and rode horses to the supermarket. I lived in Santa Monica during the 60s and early 70s where I went to school with indigenous kids and the beaches were clean. Bunker Hill, Santa Monica, and other neighborhoods had old Victorian mansions that have since disappeared. My grandmother taught piano and sometimes dragged me along to peoples homes when we stayed with her for a week or two during the summer or Christmas holidays. She lived in Altadena, we lived on the west side, but as a kid I got to see all sorts of homes in Baldwin Hills, South Central, Pasadena, and other areas because of her.
@@nellel2554 Yes, there’s a substantial downsize to gentrification, when investors look at a place and say, “this place is valuable, but the people there are devaluing it- let’s get different people in,” and drive prices up so only the upper-class can afford it. But gentrification is a byproduct of evolving economies and has been happening for many decades. It’s a cyclical process. Artsy, young working professionals (like Paige) move to a poor, crime-ridden neighborhood> the area becomes cool and attracts investors> investors create better housing options, improved infrastructure, new retail, increased security> developers buy out lower-end and increase prices> artsy young working professionals are priced out> the rich start moving out because the neighborhood is no longer cool> prices drop and the cycle starts all over again. In 2005 Target collaborated with Thomas O’Brien who had a line of furniture, linens, and decor called “Vintage Modern”. Cannot wait to see the videos about your new place. As someone who has just moved to a new place, I would love for you to do process videos - figuring out a floorplan, color scheme, making your moodboards -- all of it! Was super waiting for you to talk about Drew Barrymore's line at walmart. I kinda love her.
I'm a Barbie collector, and 90% of the stuff in these collabs is a solid nope. For one thing, my decor isn't Barbie-esque, my dolls are confined to certain areas of the house, not my 'public' areas, so I don't have a lot of space that would even be available for Barbie branded items. I don't want my house to look like an 80s Toys 'R Us store. Most of the framed art photography isn't that great, to be honest, I photograph these dolls all the time and I would prop style them waaaaay better. Their "Magic Moves Barbie" print isn't even Magic Moves Barbie, it's Crystal Barbie. Did they think no one would notice? And she's not even wearing the right shoes. I don't know who buys this stuff. 😒
If you get the floor candlestick, don't put it by a window as shown and add glass candle cup things (technical name?). Made that mistake and spent a weekend cleaning wax off the floor.

John Derian did a super cool collaboration with Target two years ago for Halloween. It was unique and tasteful. Nothing like the typical “spooky/cutesy” Halloween tchotchkes that fill most stores year-after-year. His work sells for hundreds of dollars in his website as well as in Neiman-Marcus. Levi’s also had a fun collab with Target in the past two years. Things they don’t usually sell, such as folding chairs and bedspreads, ceramic platters with the trademark blue jeans colors.
I personally love the collabs especially from extremely high-end brands, designers and influencers. Many of these are trying to be more relatable and tap a different market. Though many pieces may not be for me, I realize there is a market. I buy these unique pieces, once they are on clearance of course, and if no one else has it, it’s uniquely mine. Those target pieces are now collectors items! Anywho I’m down for it!
Check out EQ3 in Chicago or California when you have a chance. I was a design consultant there for sometime. Great curation of items either made in Canada or sourced from Canada. Upholstery is custom made, so you can be as classic or funky as you desire. Style wise it’s mid century meets danish.
You should do a video on ways to beautify everyday items, for example: toasters, cat litter housing, pet bowls, coffee machines, trash cans…. Just items that are not typically “pretty”. It would be cool to see how we can take items like these and see examples of versions that make them actually add to our interior space :)

#1: Grats on the home!! #2: That necklace is so cute, I'm a sucker for a nice daisy bead. #3: That House of Hackney is completely my jam, so thanks! 😆 I'll be doing a huge decor overhaul soon (more like getting rid of generic crap and selecting each piece to my tastes) and I will absolutely be buying from them. Not the paint, tho. I'll take a swatch to Home Depot. WTF $150 paint. Does it apply itself to my walls?
I actually have the ruggable Star Wars blue millennium falcon rug. My bf is nerd and thought it was a great way to incorporate him. It’s huge and my dad came to visit and thought it was Aztec, and then all the young people find the falcon 😂 it’s actually a really fun conversation piece.
Congratulations on finding a house! Looking forward to seeing it and how you decorate it. I'd love to see a Christmas decor video. Very uninspired by all the Christmas decor I see in stores.
Love the video. Yeah. Yeah. So many collars don’t make sense to me either it’s the person/company or the product. I don’t often see collabs produce something really curated or bringing something new to the table.
What?! No IKEA?! They have some of the coolest collaborations from a few decades ago, I’d love to see you dive into IKEAs past and present as a possible part two.
I came down here to see if anyone else picked this up! IKEA have been collaborating with designers basically since they began! Well at least from the 60s
Hey Paige! I love your content!!! I actually just bought a design book on prop styling after being inspired to learn about it from watching you! 😊 If you haven’t checked it out already, I highly recommend subscribing to the Homeworthy youtube channel - they have a ton of great house tours that are fun to watch, with a variety of interior decor styles represented. Maybe not all your style per se, but could be a good source of content for your future home reviews! Would also love to see a video that details how you got into the field you are working in - I am working on a career change into the interior design field myself and am always excited to see the different paths people take to get where they are! Thanks again for the fun and inspiring content, keep up the great work!
I think Selena had a cooking series and that's why the Our place collab. Oh, and I wonder if the air stream collab has a #vanlife (sorry for that, but it didn't convey what I meant otherwise) slant?
I am going to need you to do a holiday decorating video soon. All I am seeing is over the top holiday videos. At this point all I want is a plaid throw blanket and a tree. Show me cool girl holiday decor please.
I actually think pottery barn did the Collab thing first! I remember they did one with Ken fulk which looked surprisingly high end and true to his aesthetic. And Ballard designs has had design partnerships for years and years with design legends like Bunny Williams.
Wow I am so glad I found this channel! You got yourself a new subscriber! I was wondering if you could make a video on Etsy or gifts to buy for the Holidays (aka gift guide)? Love the channel btw ❤

Yeah - that paint is so expensive!!
Lenny Kravitz opened a design studio a while ago actually. I believe he completely redid his Paris home.
They call that style ‘organic modern’ and I roll my eyes every time I hear it
I know. That is a stupid moniker for just modern/contemporary basic stuff.
You started adding what you wear!! Thank you I really enjoy your style, thanks sis
Target collaborated with Philippe Starch, Stephen Sprouse, Michael Graves and many others in the early 200's. Definitely worth a look.
If you do this again please please PLEASE include the Catherine Zeta-Jones QVC bedding collab.
SO EXCITED FOR YOUR NEW HOME AND THE INTERIOR POSSIBILITIES!!!!
Congratulations on finally getting your place in LA!!!
paige you should review the auctions celeb collabs at 1stdibs
Congratulations on finding a house! Looking forward to seeing it and how you decorate it. I'd love to see a Christmas decor video. Very uninspired by all the Christmas decor I see in stores.
Have been refreshing TH-cam the whole day for this video haha! Excited 🌻
Also all the celebrities that have book deals, makeup lines and podcasts, it is a lot!
congratulations on getting the place ahhh!! ♥️♥️♥️
An artist I frequently buy from gifted me the original of a piece she collaborated with Anthropologie on.
Watch out LA, here comes Paige ! Congratulations 🎉👍
Oh my god congrats on getting the place in LA! So happy for you!
Love the video. Yeah. Yeah. So many collars don’t make sense to me either it’s the person/company or the product. I don’t often see collabs produce something really curated or bringing something new to the table.
So excited for the new home decorating!!!!! Eeeeee yahhoooooo !!!
The olive green locker i got the same one in ikea for 90 bucks in white. You can paint it any color you like
What?! No IKEA?! They have some of the coolest collaborations from a few decades ago, I’d love to see you dive into IKEAs past and present as a possible part two.
I came down here to see if anyone else picked this up! IKEA have been collaborating with designers basically since they began! Well at least from the 60s
Congratulations on your place !!! Can't wait to see you make it yours 💖
Can you do a home review of Julia and hunter havens? 😊
Hey Paige, congrats on your new home! Would love to know your thoughts on holiday decor and how to make it look non-cheesy.
Omg.. I actually puked a little in my mouth when i saw that ceiling fan from the Kelly Clarkson collab.. i.. i.. just cannot.
Congrats on the new place!!
Hey Paige! I love your content!!! I actually just bought a design book on prop styling after being inspired to learn about it from watching you! 😊
If you haven’t checked it out already, I highly recommend subscribing to the Homeworthy youtube channel - they have a ton of great house tours that are fun to watch, with a variety of interior decor styles represented.
Congrats Paige ❤️🏠
Congratulations on your new LA place.
So excited to see your new place. Congratulations!!
Please do a rug review! Finding a good rug has been so hard!!
Feels like a lot of the colabs had those rounded armchairs - it looks a little unimaginative seeing them all together like this 😅
Super excited for the LA content! As someone who just moved to LA, I'd love to know where you end up shopping for stuff for your place.
I am going to need you to do a holiday decorating video soon. All I am seeing is over the top holiday videos. At this point all I want is a plaid throw blanket and a tree. Show me cool girl holiday decor please.
The Pottery Barn designed Airstream is 115 -165K
congratulations! Looking forward to see that content! 🖤
Congrats! Is it a rental or did you bought it?
You should do a review of Lenny Kravitz's AD tour! It's quite interesting
Yay!! Congrats on the new home!! ☆♡☆
I actually think pottery barn did the Collab thing first! I remember they did one with Ken fulk which looked surprisingly high end and true to his aesthetic. And Ballard designs has had design partnerships for years and years with design legends like Bunny Williams.
Woohoo! Congrats on your new place!
I love how you’re talking about Barbie like she’s a designer lol
Wow I am so glad I found this channel! You got yourself a new subscriber! I was wondering if you could make a video on Etsy or gifts to buy for the Holidays (aka gift guide)? Love the channel btw ❤
coming soon :)
When the hell is a brand collabing with Paige?! 😂
Also, Calderone is pronounced as “Cahl-deh-rohne.”
Paige, you should check Lenny’s farm house in Brazil. Sooo beautiful!
Actually, it’s four syllables: cahl-deh-ROH-neh. The last “e” in Italian isn’t silent like “e”’is silent in English at the end of words. Peace 🕊️
Paige should collaborate with the DIY Home Center since she loooves DIYs 😂
@@awesomelife3710 But it is silent in Spanish. We pronounce it without the e and many people from Spanish roots have that last name too and spell it without the e.
lol @ the eames couch having the exact same color pallet as jungalow collection
ive actually been SO curious how you feel about ruggable
omg lenny kravetz has great taste, you have to review his AD tour
Furniture collabs are the new makeup collabs. They're everywhere. Some are great. Some are so-so. Sometimes the big name is heavily involved and other times it just feels like a cash grab.
Congrats on your place 🎉 just started the video and I’m so excited to learn more about your personal decorating process
Congrats on your LA house btw!
Omg I have been waiting for years to hear your take on Athena Calderone's interior style because she is SO praised and I don't like it... and I knew you wouldn't either haha
