Really fascinating to see all the different art styles. The Pacific Northwest looks beautiful as do Secrets of Paradise and a bunch of others. Squid Cake so adorable! For sure thought of Daneille Noel when I saw Ethereal Alchemist. Looks like they used the same printer as the Moonchild and they did the borders the same exact way as the Moonchild. The art is less layered than Danielle's work though.

I love the concept and look of the Tarot of Oneness. I may need to add it to my collection. I think it may be a great way to change a perspective of a reading or to enhance one.
It really is a lovely collection of art, I do have to spend some more time with it to see how it reads. I often just use my knowledge of the tarot to read cards that have animals as I don't get as much out of them. If that makes sense.
You picked some dynamite decks there, I have the following decks: Tarot Of Oneness which is fast becoming "the" new modern classic tarot deck that seems to be all-emcompassingly perfect, I love it, I'm not keen on court card name-changes but they are at least completely cohesive so you barely notice the change, The Ethereal Alchemist Tarot is absolutely stunning, if not slight impractical size-wise for shuffling, but the images just bounce out of the cards, it's almost 3D. The Pacific Northwest Tarot is also a real gentle, simple but very elegant animal-themed deck that is really a stand-out animal deck, in which there are plenty of about, it doesn't top The Brady Tarot though! The Phantomwise Tarot is now one of my all time favourites, a mass market deck with almost indie quality and really beautiful cards that get the message over with the most mininmal image, really a stunning deck.
I just saw the Tarot of Oneness on your newsletter and had to find a walkthrough. It's absolutely stunning, I got emotional over some of the cards. It's so well done! I went straight to etsy and was sad to see it was sold out 😔 hopefully there will be another printing soon. I got the Buffy Deck on pre-order because I'm such a fan, and was pleasantly surprised to find it was not a pip deck (as most Insight Editions are) and the artist had to have actually been a fan based on their choices for the cards. Of course it could be better, I do hope Insight Editions will start putting more care into their decks instead of just trying to push out for sales. I was very disappointed with the Hocus Pocus deck and would not have bought the Buffy Deck if I had not seen more of the deck first.
Yeah I feel you, I was hesitant with the Bufft deck after the Hocus Pocus deck too but I'm so glad it's so well done. I'm sure the creator for the Tarot of Oneness is going to do another print.
Lots of people are going to tell you to read The Night Circus because it’s fans are so in love. It’s a good book, but it’s strength is in the atmosphere of the setting and action. If that’s not your thing then you’ll feel bogged down in it all. I live my BTVS deck! I haven’t read the guidebook either, but I’ve heard there are some mistakes in it? Apparently Insight has already put out a statement or something about making corrections.
Hi Ethony! You do not need to read the Night Circus to use the Phantomwise. I have seen a couple of interviews with the author/deck creator Erin, who said they are independent of one another. She created the cards simultaneously while writing the book, but the cards are not tied directly to the story or characters. The only similarity is the circus spin to the cards. That being said, I did love the book and think,you should give it another try!
I have 5 of these decks, and more new ones that you didn’t mention, I’m such a huge fan of the Tarot of Oneness 😍 I have the Buffy deck, but part of me wants to binge watch the show before I start playing with the deck 😂 The other decks I have are the Phantomwise Tarot, Keeper of the Sacred Bee, and I was sent the Crystal Magic Tarot to review. Another Kickstarter I only just got, and can’t put down, is the Fantasy Garden Tarot 🤩🥰

With the Buffy deck, 17 out of the 40 minors entries in the book are incorrect and don't match the images. And Insight Editions has basically said they're not doing anything about it until the next reprinting some time next year. That is an unconscionable amount of errors and the fact that they're doing nothing about it has sealed the deal for me that I'm never buying any of their decks ever again. I enjoy Buffy, but I'm so glad I didn't buy the Buffy Tarot deck.
The Rebel Heart Tarot, I like, and I've used it a few times, it's a fairly good reader, but there's something about it that I haven't quite clicked with yet, it can be a bit disjointed albeit very unusual and interesting, but there is a bit of lack of flow with it though.
I'm undecided about Keeper Of The Sacred Bee Tarot, I have Journey Of The Sacred Bee Tarot which is beautiful and very cohesive and has a very easy flow to it, the Keeper Of The Sacred Bee Tarot however as pretty as it is, looks like it might be a bit "samey" in terms of how many beekeepers can a tarot deck hold up before it get's monotonous? I may feel differently once I have it in my hands, I suspect it may be one of those decks that you need to have with you to know rather than seeing on videos.
Buffy is tempting, but I'm afraid I'd just go off into dreamland thinking about the show instead of actually using the cards, lol. The Keeper of the Sacred Bee tarot is beautiful! I was trying to update a comment I wrote about the Tarot of Oneness and I think I accidentally deleted it. I said I had just ordered it and was very excited to get it but I wasn’t aware it was coming from Canada and was shocked by the shipping. Well, I just got it and - it came from Illinois! So I paid the really high shipping from Canada yet it was shipped from the US. I thought that was sneaky. Maybe others should be aware.
They start in Canada and end up at distributors around the United States. They had to pay for the shipping to get these decks from Canada, so they are just trying to offset the cost. I had no problem getting mine from Canada and I only was charged $4.20 for shipping. Altogether, after a 40% discount, this deck ended up costing me $18 and it arrived five days after I ordered it.
I keep coming back to Oneness deck, it's been on my wishlist forever 😂 I might need to cave and get it this year. I just got the Spacious Tarot (my current favorite lol) and it kinda gives me that feel art wise. Also ❤ Buffy toooooo! If the apocalypse comes... Beep me 🎉
when the minor arcana are not illustrated with scenes that show the meanings, but show just the suit symbols. For example plain playing cards, the Tarot de Marseille, the lord of the rings deck from Insight edition etc. Personally I'd say that even the Gill Tarot does still qualify as a pip deck, though there are more hints on the meanings.
Squid Cake Marseille Tarot is very pretty, sweet and compact, but for some reason I expected more from it, it may grow on me though. I know Marseille decks are traditionally pips but I would have loved it if the deck had illustrated pips and if the cards were just a tad larger.
That's the Marseille though they're designed that way for a reason. If Jess did another Tarot deck that was in that stype but RWS it would be so awesome.

Yes sometimes that happens for sure. Especially decks that have unique symbols etc
