the triple "M" of Miku, MISA & Mincho front of stage Jamming to the crowd is a sight to behold. They really do come out to Play :)
This one was originally written as an instrumental. But Saiki loved it so much that she asked Miku to write some lyrics for her.
I absolutely loved it!
Miku is the heart, Misa is the soul, Akane is the backbone, Kaname is the brain and Saiki is the blood(also Kanami's muse) of the monster that is Band Maid

Band-Maid is playing in ATL, Nashville, and Charlotte in May if you are anywhere near those places in the south
When Miku formed Band-Maid she could not play guitar. You would never guess it the way she plays now.

There is a rebirth of rock and metal; it's just not happening from the US. As long as these wonderful bands keep coming to the US so I can see them I'll be happy.
I don't know how this wouldn't bring a smile to someone's face. Absolute high energy, positive vibes and fun from the impossibly hard-rocking band.

You were close! PLAY originally started as an instrumental by Saiki liked it so much she had Miku write lyrics for it so she could join in the fun. Now around time mark 4:45 here Akane starts messing with Saiki and gets her to crack up just a little. Watch for when Akane starts raising her sticks and makes faces at Saiki as she's singing near her kick drum......you'll hear the slight crackle in her voice. A few years ago one commenter stated this is a game they play on stage to try and crack each other up, it's called Hengao (Hen Gow). You can really see this in their "Domination" LIVE video when they all gather around Akane's drum kit. Hengao definition is "The art of making faces".
Had know idea what I was getting into, but I loved the ride!
I always play Play when I’m playing Band-Maid because Play shows how good the Maids play when they’re playing Play. 😜 Thx, Jimmy!

There's a condition most people experience when they attend a Band-Maid concert. It's called " Post Band-Maid Depression. " it wasn't enough. I want more !! Felt it every day since Oct. 12th and hoping they have a date in August somewhere near my woods. 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
Jimmy, you watch Band-Maid like I do, smiling, always smiling. They just have that thing, flair, talent, catchyness, rockin goodness. No band does it this good. All day long indeed.
Play - Live, the first song I ever heard by them about 15 months ago. Choose Me - Live was the second and I was hooked and binged everything I could find. Great song by a great band.
If you react to "Freedom" you will have the great pleasure of seeing the extraordinary Akane perform a drum solo that I think you will remember

Man, it’s a favorite fantasy of mine to be able to party out with the members of Band Maid at their End of Tour Bash! It’s commonly known that Miku, MISA and to a lesser extent the rest, “party like pirates” as she described it. What a fun bunch!😄💪🏻🤘🏻
I've heard that Saiki keeps up with Miku and MISA, but Akane and Kanami are lightweights.

Here's a band I don't think you've heard yet. Gacharic Spin. "I Wish I" "Mindset" "Tamashii Live" would be some good choices to start with. They are another all female band in the same category as Band-Maid, Nemophila and Lovebites. :-)

@@jimmysrandom If you get a chance what you'll find is that the community in person is just as friendly as they are online. I went by myself to a show in Chicago then a bunch of us went to a bar and just talked about Band-Maid and music for the rest of the night. I usually keep to myself, but it's about as welcoming a community as you'll ever find that it's real easy to meet new people.
I think the original 'Play!' LIVE was even better. This one has that awesome intro though. Sock-eh? It's pronounced more like Psyche.

Bringing happiness is the most important thing.
I've been lucky to see them twice, on their 2022 US Tour, once in NYC at Irving Plaza on 10/28 and then Nickelodeon in NJ on 10/30. It's an unforgettable experience. And yes, Miku is the ringmaster of this fantastic circus. If you like Band-Maid, you should check out a band that I just started listening to, named Glim Spanky. It's the duo of Remi Matsuo and Hiroki Kamemoto. They use session musicians exclusively, but both are excellent guitarists in the classic rock style, and Hiroki is an amazing vocalist with her throaty, raspy cigarette and whisky voice. She's Japan's version of Janis Joplin with a little Grace Slick mixed in. I'm pretty sure you will enjoy them.
I would love to see them. Someday the stars will align.
@@jimmysrandom I partially agree with your comment about Misa being the heart. But Band Maid is like a heart with three valves, and that's the power trio of Misa, Kanami and Akane, with Miku being the soul and Saiki being........well Saiki !!!!

I just saw them in Kumamoto on March 23rd and as expected, they are AWESOME! This year is your chance...10th Anniversary Tour! World Domination!!
I can say after seeing them live at HOB Chicago last November. Seeing them from just a few feet away playing these tracks raw and unfiltered is just as great as you imagine it would be.
Do not miss out if you get the chance, you never know what can happen and you might not get another.
It does feel like these women have found something they like in the U.S. as they are coming back to hit some festivals(something pretty new for them) after their tour here last year.

Largest USA tour begins in May.
They do a great show .. saw them in Chicago a few months ago and will be seeing them in St. Louis at the end of May.

Great reaction/review of this band...your description of the 'heart, soul, energy'...is spot on...they are having fun and that is their 'magic'...and again the audience is almost part of the show....also, a new video from Jan 9th 2023 Tokyo Garden Theater dropped this morning...'Sense'....very well done......Hard Cider and Band-Maid good choices....thanx again Jimmy

One of the best intros ever. By any band. In the history of Rock. Hope you get to see them live some day. I gotta wait til next year when they come to the UK.
I flew from Atlanta to DC in October just to see them play live, spent $25 on the ticket, and about $400 on the plane Tix and hotel. Worth every plugged nickel. And I'll be darned, now there coming to Atlanta in May, so I splurged on VIP early access Tix.

Flew into Chicago to see them and worth the effort for sure. First time I have flown into a town just for a concert. They just ooze joy and fun from the stage, simply amazing.

Houston (5/14) and Austin (5/15) for Band-Maid! I'm not sure if the tickets are all gone but resale might be available. They really put out a great show!
The Warning will be in Houston 5/13 and Dallas 5/14. Sorry, forgot to mention it earlier.
People are afraid to come out of their comfort zones about everything, I like, like kids who'll only eat chicken nuggets and fries. And very often they lash out and hate against things they don't understand. It's annoying. Good luck with the channel!

You’re not wrong these bands are amazing live! Saw Band Maid in Phoenix last October, Nemophila a couple weeks ago in San Francisco, and will be seeing Band Maid again in Austin in May. Can’t wait!

I was at Phoenix show and Dallas, going to Nashville this year! Saw The Warning three times last year, also! Great live bands!

Something you will notice is that when they are performing live they like to add extra parts either in the beginning as with this song or they add longer solos or duels in the middle of the songs :)

I am a huge barrel aged stout fan, BCS 2020 is my favorite.
@@jimmysrandom I'm a big Southern Comfort fan. My cousin bought actual barrels of it and transferred them into maple barrels and aged them for another two years. Talk about good stuff👍
