Great video..! I basically had the same problem but my c4 is a 95 so it has the Optispark... anyways there was no dielectric grease behind the Ignition Coil plate that mounts to the head on the passenger side behind the power steering pump and no dielectric grease under ignition control module and the small short wire that runs from the Optispark to the coil was in very bad shape... my c4 was purchased 2021 with 87,000 miles was totally factory nothing has never been replaced on it... after replacing that short wire and the Ignition Coil and Ignition Module my C4 came Alive... very strong I have also changed out the Electric Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter and the Fuel Pressure Regulator and she runs Amazing...! It's been said that these components should be changed on the C4 after 75,000 miles... hope this helps someone...
maaan I got my 95 in 2020 and I’m having that problem now. Cranks but wont start. It use to start up like a champ! I changed my ignition coil and module, the opti, spark plugs and wires and that MF still ain’t turnin over. Now the shop sayin it’s the computer 🤷🏾♂️
My 91 would do it to me, it would start just fine for a week or maybe a month and i would park it in garage and get in it next day and just crank no start, so i leave it for later to figure why, a week goes by and I try to start it and it fires right up. drives fine for a week or two. then same thing no start ,wait a week try to start and nothing, it did that to me three or four times didn't know where to start, finally found a you tube vid on the ecu and changed it, starts every time so far now, I guess they go out a lot if you don't smear a lot of heat sink grease on the back.
Good video. I always learn a little. I know those rocker arm covers are not aluminum. Not sure what they are but they really look nice when all cleaned and polished. Thanks.
I don't think you can polish the valve covers I think there some kind of composite material, I tried for a long time to polish mine and it didn't happen nor did the intake, I'v heard that you can but I didn't have any luck they look really clean but not shiny like when you polish aluminum. the only way i got any shine on valve covers and plenum was to get the pinstripe tape from auto zone the one that is made from Mylar and cut it to the length of the groove'd lines on the covers and the top of intake so it looks like the lines down to the distributor cover are chrome, it looks really good and hasn't crumpled or peeled up in the three years its been on and if it gets bad just peel it off and cut a new piece, it looks like a little chrome but not cheap or stupid. And for a five dollar "chrome" look even if you don't like it it's not permanent.
Ive got an 85 also, the plugs seem touchy on those, the last mech told me if it happens again, go two steps hotter with the plugs. I dont drive mine much, nor very hard and its missing again, so I better look at the plugs again.
I found a map gas torch to be the easiest way to remove the fouling material from the plug. after i get the acura project on the road ill be changing the vettes valve guides
Check the fuse block on side of dash there is three fusses i think they are 3,8, and 24, those are the ones that control the injectors and fuel pump. it might be the problem. And you already changed the ignition control module, so it might also be a clogged fuel filter. or the vats system. have you done a fuel pressure test, did you check the fuel pump relay? Oh and did you make sure the plug wires were on the correct plugs. simple shit like that can make you crazy. good luck.

Thanks.
I agree, that huge clamshell hood is one of my favorite parts of the C4!

Having the same issue with my 3rd gen camaro,
I thought the timing was controlled by the car, on my 85 i never have to set the timing, i think the ecu does it. now I'm confused.
the tpi still has the distributor and timing marks, Id recommend a better timing light mine is a little dim and hard to see the marks on the pulley.
Was yours the 7 pin Delphi ICM?
How’s it running lately ?
sold it, it would probably make for an interesting marketplace story sometime
I have a 86 corvette won’t start I put a fuel pump, coil, spark plugs, Module and it still won’t start what the next thing to check
have you given it a shot of starting fluid, if she fires with that you know you have a fuel issue, if it doesnt fire, probably a spark issue
Check the fuel pump relay
