    This is a groundbreaking moment.
It could set the benchmark that shows tech companies you can create privacy focused, interoperable devices and still have a solid business.
The companies that collaborate will be the winners. The companies who do not will likely isolate themselves.

“Privacy means people know what they’re signing up for, in plain English, and repeatedly. That’s what it means. I’m an optimist, I believe people are smart. And some people want to share more data than other people do. Ask them. Ask them every time. Make them tell you to stop asking them if they get tired of your asking them. Let them know precisely what you’re going to do with their data.”

As a longtime user, I wanted to express my gratitude for the project's growth. It's been inspiring to see it evolve.
What truly inspires me is the commitment to the grand scheme, prioritizing the project's vision over immediate profits.
It's fantastic to see such a focus on building a strong foundation for the future, striking that perfect balance!
    Keep up the fantastic work!

This Project really evolved since the first time I installed "an Open source Smarthome Software that couldn't do much and was unstable as hell" ... This was back with a Version number somewhere between 0.10 and 0.50 i beleive^^
Now, It became an important Part of my Home - and is still getting better each year.
You and the Community is doing an incredible Job - it's almost hard to keep tack with all Changes, new Features and Options :)
Especially the last 4 years were amazing.
Thank you. And I'll keep contributing in Support, issue Tracking, maybe Feature solving whenever it's possible for me.
    🎉

Looking at the future of open home it looks bright. Thanks you all for your hard work.
With home automation becoming more and more a part of our daily live there will likley be a point where we don't allow it to fail on us.
For example if want to switch from locking my doors with a key to electronic door-locking It cannot fail.
I need to be confident before I take that step. If 100% uptime isn't guaranteed likely I will not put them in based on risk.
I didn't get a view on that. There are for sure technical solutions but that will come with increased complexity and cost

Great stream, huge props to all of you and the community! Top notch on all levels. I never needed HA Cloud since I have a VPN but recently subscribed just to support the project ❤ The Voice recognition sure is superior via HA Cloud but I was still blown away how well the built in self hosted voice stack worked on my RPi 5. Excited to follow the future developments. Thank you all!

I think if "Home Approval Factor" is really important, then we must accelerate permissions for users and guests. It is critical that guests or kids or non-tech-savvy spouses can have a dashboard that is simple and made for them but they also can't navigate away from and only has access that you want them to have. Power users are super capable of making these custom dashboards with a user/group in mind, but there isn't a way to restrict what they can access. Please implement these roles/rights that can restrict what dashboards are available! including a group for non-logged in users (anonymous users).

Privacy could also mean our private data is in our control and can be sold on our terms at our agreed price, rather than commercial entities taking your data and making money from it, with no choice from the creator.

I see the attraction for people who want interactive chats with you guys, BUT! Is there any chance you could produce compact versions of your presentations in powerpoint-style, with just the bullet points and descriptions, rather than conversations? TL:DL (too long, didn't listen) I mean, 3 bloody hours? I'm pretty sure it could be cut down to about 15 mins of bullet points.

These are all nice words, but with every update HA has actually become more complicated and worse.
A year ago, HA still worked smoothly on an iPad Air. 2 works and displays securely.
Today, the screen constantly freezes and shows me values that have not been correct for a long time ... if you then operate a function, you are informed that a new contact is being made. The screen then takes forever to refresh and you can finally edit the part.
ESP Home with its constant updates now works so badly that I will probably change the system altogether, apart from the fact that only nerds understand these constantly changing keys that require nothing more than obscure codes.
There is a lot more to report, but the bottom line is that the app has become increasingly unreliable ... I now praise the proprietary apps from the manufacturers, which don't have all the bells and whistles, but work reliably (even on an iPad that is no longer new).

    Home Assistant is great.
I just wish you would stop putting X forward as a bad actor, I guess out of political conviction.
Be aware that X is defending free speach. Just look at what happened in Brasil & Austrialia.
X did not comply with censorship calls in those 2 countries, while other social media plarforms did.

That whole thing with Brazil feels like a PR stunt, similar to how Apple refused to unlock a phone for FBI a while back. When it benefited him directly, Musk was happy to enact censorship.

LOL you should keep everything private and the main project of ESP HOME announced is ... A CLOUD. No way I will use that thing. Not a good trend, and I don't need that.
