One thing I still can't believe hasn't been done yet is a peephole door cam that doesn't alter the exterior appearance of the door. I doubt I'm alone in this, as it seems many condos do not allow any modification to the exterior appearance of a door, which immediately means the Ring Peephole Cam is out. If Ring or someone made a very similar device which looked just like a normal peephole from the outside, MANY would likely buy one.

Hey sorry, just with everything going on in the industry we felt it was more important to jump on some of these things, but I'm working on that video this week. It's less of a review and more of a how to get started with the system. But over that series I should be able to give you a really good indication of what the system is about
An interesting set of products, but how many of them can be controlled when (not if) your Internet goes down? So many devices simply stop working while your internet is down, and while this is unacceptable to many of us, that doesn't seem to have filtered down to the companies making these devices. Do they not realise that their market would be bigger if they supported local control, rather than being locked into their proprietary cloud infrastructure. Since one of the biggest problems with smart home devices is finding out whether they support local control, it would be really good if videos like this mentioned whether they did or not. Keep up the good work.
Thanks @@AutomateYourLife, and I know that I, and others, probably sound a broken records, but until more manufacturers start being up front about their products connectivity needs, it's a question we will have to keep asking. It great to see matter mentioned with respect to so many of these products, but we've yet to see how many manufacturers will open up their full API to local control. I suspect at least some will try to hide 'premium' functionality behind a cloud service paywall, and we have to be ready to push back against that.
Have you seen the robot mop/vacs that use a belt instead of spinning pads? Reviews show very obvious superiority in how well they clean compared to the pads that don’t pickup as much since the belts can clean themselves off as they go instead of pads that potentially spread what they’ve picked up along the way everywhere they go
If I’m understanding correctly, will I be able to tie my Phillips hue hub to the m3 then control my hue bulbs with conditional automations triggered from existing Aqara sensors in the Aqara app?
What kind of insight do you have on Amazon wanting to charge for Alexa use? I just asked Alexa and she said that it is a possibility? What else could we move to without being charged?
