I have the exact same knife. I watched a couple reviews (one being yours) and I knew I had to get this one. I actually like it way better than I thought I would. I will be buying the carbon handle version with super steel. This knife may not be for everyone but if you like a light duty, small discreet not heavy, sharp and sleek edc. This is a great pick..
My scales have about 15-20% blue left....been thinking about sanding and repainting myself, as I have only very minimal understanding of the custom scales market. Although I would definitely throw a pair of the carbon looking style scales to match the OG CEO. I prefer the OG tbh.
Wow that sucks...I have had the CEO compact for about three weeks now. Like you also have been using it and I have not ran into the issues you have. Maybe I will down the road but like you...I will still love it and use it. I also have the CEO flipper and that is my favorite. Love everything about it.
Similar issue of scale wear, also first time i used the pocket clip it discoloured the scale. Also the liner lock could do with access for those without nails lol
I got a big blotch of color missing from the clip side. Had it 6 months and it happened within the first couple of months. Still for the price and size and weight it's a great little knife.
Is it really worth $54 with that size and a nylon handle? I mean with that price I would expect g10, I have several knives with g10 that are half the price.
Yeah…. It’s a gent knife. Paint wearing sucks. (I painted the scales “ivory white” w/ Krylon Matte Finish (best paint to protect you paint from scratching & wear on the PLANET, out of a spray can - don’t touch it for over 24hrs) And yes, the liner lock is a bit difficult to get at, but with practice, it’s doable. Not my fav in my knife collection, but I do like it for occasional usage.
I have the the original style in blue denim micarta made of s35vn and i hate it. That open assist i have to remove everytime to sharpen it on my stones. Boker Kwaiken Air blows it out of the water
I've got this knife, I'm not a knife guy other than my grandfather's old timer that I have put up its my only knife. It's perfect for someone who doesn't want to wear a knife on there hip everyday but want a single sharp blade that will cut most things that come up in your day to day.....and my paint is chipped too
It’s a good knife, I just need to get creative on the scales & make it look like a “gent carry knife”. When you dress up, carry this & feel like a CEO! (even if it happens to you a couple times a year ; )
If it was me I’d remove ALL the paint so that it was totally black. Then it wouldn’t look tattered. And black is fine. I want one in Ivory Micarta. SOLID Ivory…not painted. Painted…jeesh! That just screams Chinese. They MUST have discovered that the color wears off during testing…but they still let it go. Very disappointing. I bought the Blackout version of the standard size and like it very much. But after this my next buy was the classic Kershaw Blur S30V…made in the USofA. Just cause.
No metal tarnishes because it's not good metal. If it tarnished it wasn't taken care of correctly. I know nothing about knives but I know all about metal. This knife wasn't made 2 days before u got it yet 2 days in your hands and it's got problems.

Flick it straight up the knife the original ceo fires like a rocket and is so easy. Lay thumb on stud and put pressure up where the blade will be opened I don’t use my thumb nail just the thumb. If still having trouble try it way 11 o’clock have fun 🤩
That clip is so uncomfortable…. When you’re using the knife I mean Also yes, it looks like stupid and it’s as if it was added as an afterthought. Scales are way too slippery as well. Oh yeah, the thumb stud is ridiculous and it isn’t easy to open.
@@zxipz7228 I think he meant the flipper, I too recently bought one and the biggest beef is the flipper. It should carry more leverage in order to open the knife properly. The flipper also keeps digging too much into into my finger in order to open it which is not always successful.
I hear ya… I have a couple CRKT(s) & thank god the unique ones I buy, are typically under $50. That’s me & my wife having 2 drinks a piece @ a bar for dinner now days….. sometimes, you got to just try it!

If you like “gent / small” knives: yes, you should buy one. (I’m thinking of buying the “top shelf” version in the future)
