If IndyCar went back, the racing experience overall would be better because the cars are more reliable & safer now than they were back then. Makes sense to me that they should go back to Michigan & Pocono and bring back the 500 mile Triple Crown...
So glad I was able to see racing like this at the time. Now watching it is a tease, something we’ll never get to see again. So disappointed roger sold the track to crapcar.
Thanks ISC for becoming a monopoly for stock cars to only race on. They could easily and safely run on there today. However will anybody go the race is another problem.
It's funny that it was the fourth least voted race of the five they shown on their community post and it seems like it would have the most views of all of them lol.
28:00 the last Mexican driver known by the Mexicans. Also a good angle of the squared super speedway helmets used in 95, later banned because they weren't as good as the round ones dissipating energy in a crash
Guy Hobbs (David's brother). ESPN (ABC) would supply the pictures, but add extra commentators to cover the USA ad breaks for ESPN International. It was like a 'rest of the world' commentary if you like. Over here in Europe we would hear Alvaro Martin and Guy Hobbs a lot of the time if ABC was tape-delaying races like Surfers Paradise etc and during commercial breaks.
No, that was the July 1996 Michigan race. Emerson was trying to pass Greg Moore on the outside going into Turn 2 on the opening lap, and they made contact- Emmo went smashing into the Turn 2 wall, and ended up breaking his neck... I was at that race.
Emerson was planning on returning to the cockpit in 1998, but then ended up crashing his ultralight plane in September of 1997. After that, he decided to hang up his helmet for good.
Please allow me to post full race footage of CART races from 1990 to 2002 in Japanese Footage with only English commentary is unfair If you don't do this, I will never watch the IndyCar series again
Bring back MIS!
big ovals in general
Easier said than done when ISC wants nothing to do with IndyCar racing at their tracks except Iowa and thats only because of HyVee.
@@tommythetreat000 and ISC ruined Iowa
Huge respect for showing this!
Multiple chassis manufacturers
Multiple tire manufacturers
Multiple engine manufacturers
And millions in tobacco money which is never coming back.
It is simple. But they became socialists
Michigan AND Pocono need to be on the schedule!! RIGHT NOW!!
Would be cool if they brought back Cleveland as well.
Miles is scared of big ovals
A 500-mile race at a big track that isn’t Indy, my beloved
I remember 1995 Marlboro 500 from Michigan International Speedway. Very Classic video.

Long live CART
12:00 Emmo's interview sadly became a reality 😥
Cleveland 1995 and Michigan right afterwards. The best 2 races ever in open wheel racing
We need MIS back on the IndyCar schedule.
This is one of the best two car race long battles I can think of. Fantastic race.
Sam Posey, class act RIP.
He’s still alive
The Lola T95 looked like a bullet. Beautiful!!

Yesss!!!! More of these, please.
Tony George ran the whole thing into the ground.
Without TG there would be no IndyCar racing at all.
Cart owners are pretty much the same. As guilty as TG
Bring back Big Ovals please
Yessssss this was the first full race I attended as a kid!! (Did Qualifying/IROC day in 1994).
Plz bring back MIS 🥺🥺
the then cars are simple and stylish shape.
Besides, plural chassis manufactures were so interesting.
Grande Téo José
No catch fence around the track except for the front stretch? Wild.
Drivers had more respect for one another when there was more natural risk
Salazar 🔥🔥

What’s even worse was that Roger sold the tracks he used to own to ISC, then the rest was history when it comes to NASCAR and ISC being one
People would go if it was promoted but isc isn't going to help indycar
@@Indyracer12 we only have Iowa (an ISC track) because of HyVee, and now ISC ruined Iowa for IndyCar
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT
I wonder if hi knew what he knows now if he would have sold it
@@Indyracer12 IndyCar would have a better schedule now if Roger didn’t sell the tracks he owned (that isn’t Indy)

Who is the commentator during the ads break? I don't recognize the voice.
