I’m a VERY proud owner of an all Tannoy 9.2.6 home theater. The dual concentric design 100% makes a difference to both soundstage & immersion and opening up the sweet spot significantly.

Interesting - do those Tannoys hit hard enough for HT? My first "real" speakers were Tannoy bookshelves ~10 years ago, and while they sounded great they lacked punch and authority.

@@parkermackenzie9848 my L & R are Precision 6.4’s and my Center is a Revolution Signature 6C. it’s obviously not as authoritative as Tannoys 10” and bigger drivers but paired with 2 subs it definitely has the depth and substance necessary to deliver an immersive experience

I recently purchased a receiver with Dirac Live and I've been very impressed. Dirac Live addresses many of the room reflection and driver alignment issues that you're talking about.

to some degree. Cannot correct seat to seat deviation from one speaker.

Coaxial designs are the best in general, which is why KEF is so successful - they mass-produce them in high-quality cabinets, with well-tuned components

Now just mate the coax drivers with a waveguide to control the directivity even more and they would be even better. Genelec has been doing it and they have some of the best measuring speakers out there.

I think a good way to improve the projection into the main listening area while reducing the reflections from room surfaces which can colour, and are unable to be controlled for at the design stage.
I'm not sure how constrained the tweeter is from it's position in Ascendo drivers.

Imo, this is why Kef is king. Amazing for home theater

Tannoy had this figured out decades ago.

@@junior-OG Kef came out with their coincident Unit-Q in 1988 and Tannoy came out with theirs in 1947. Kef got beat by 40 years.

They also have downsides. Radiation pattern changes depending on how woofer moves which affects high tones and linearly. More advanced construction limits optimising a woofer and usually tweeter to so they can't achieve a quality with as small distortion as top tier drivers.
There isn't free in audio, every design has compromises.
