I'm diagnose with cancer, i have just 2 years to live, i've never been this scared to die, i'm just 35, i cry everyday wishing for a miracle to happen. i don't know why im saying this here. put me in your prayers.
Sharing my double vision experience here ☺ I have double vision when I look at a distance caused by Strabismus (Esotropia). Have Strabismus due to wrong prescription glasses and looked at my phone for too long and my eyes can't diverge well when I look far, my left eye turns in when I look far. I've been wearing prism glasses for more than 10 years and previously my prism power was 8 (4 base out in each eye) but noticed my double vision got worst even with prism because my double vision increase from 8 (4 base out in each eye) to 10 so I started vision therapy April last year. I never have any surgery on my strabismus because I heard surgery does not solve the root cause and the eye turn will come back later on because the root cause is due to brain and eye connection. Now I'm still wearing prism glasses as my treatment glasses during vison therapy. Vision Therapy helps me a lot to re-train my eyes and my brain connection to work together as a team, my prism glasses power reduced from time to time to reduce my double vision. And now I'm starting to wear contact lens at night for vision therapy, prism glasses during the day time for vision therapy. Now it's down to 4 (2 base out in each eye). My goal is to reduce to 0.
Thank you for getting back to me. I have had nystagmus, amblyopia, strabismus and visual crowding for 73 years. Visual crowding is the worst for trying to read. The only to deal with this problem is to a telescope to see the chalk board in school. I was a math guy and got a PhD in mechanical engineering but let me tell you it wasn't easy. All the little symbols all mushed together and drove me crazy. Thanks again for your U tube videos.
I'm 16 years old and i am noticing double vision in my right eye only... When i see screens it increases and whenever I'm outdoors in nights i am also noticing glares and flashes of lights and whenever i come home after school i can see things clearly double from my right eye .... But the worst thing is when I visited eye doctor he said that everything is okay no need to worry and i thinkhe did not checked my eye in detail because i could read that 6/6 letter chart ..... I m stressed about my eye and doing my own research about the problem and trying to solve it in the most possible way i can.... 🙂❤(Thanks for reading) ... :)
Full time diplopia here came on slowly since I was a child..I also was diagnosed with scoliosis and have titanium rods holding my spine in place so it won't curve anymore since I was 16. I have psoriasis as well and have always wondered if maybe I have MS or an autoimmune disease
I have functional neurological disorder (FND) which is becoming popular unfortunately but usually goes misdiagnosed. I have had double vision 11/2 year and I have day and night. Also my left eye is bulging out and my right eye droops to the point that closes off. My neuro-ophthalmologist has diagnosed me with TED but I’m curious to know if you @DrEyeGuy have seen a case of TED where only one protrudes? Thank in advance for replying and very informative and on point video by the way! Thanks!

I'm trying to find any information about seeing purple vision. My daughter told me every so often she will see purple vision for 5 to 10 seconds . She said it can happen 2 to 3 times a week and she thought it was just normal. Her doctor referred her to an eye specialist. She's only 10 .
Thank you for your video, full of good information. I've have had Eye nerve palsy 3 times (2018, 2021, 2023) and although after much test and MRI's doctors are not sure why (I do have hyper tension but controlled) However, although it may sound outrageous I can relate all three occurrences to getting cold mist/splash water from 1)lake, 2)ocean and last one 3)cold water ride, into my eye. In each case I remember feeling pain during the water event. In each occurrence after the event, about two weeks later I would get the eye nerve palsy. Which normally resolves itself 6-8 weeks. To the point where I no longer bathe in lakes/ocean when there is a chill/wind in the air, and I stopped doing cold water amusement rides. So I'm wondering if I susceptible to a weak eye nerve or possibly viruses affecting the nerves in these events. I know it sounds far-fetched, but I'm trying track any triggers.
Wow, thank you for sharing! Sometimes people have to turn into detectives/investigators to figure out triggers and causes. I hope you figure out yours for sure one day.
I noticed i was seeing two images back in 2021 didn't even know DV was a thing. Eye specialist says it's decompensating esotropia plus my age (67yrs). I wear prisms which work for me.
4:13 see I knew it I knew it, I can blame my strabismus on somebody dropping me on my head as a baby, I knew it, thank you 😀😄... just kidding. but it is funny to tell people I was dropped on my head as a baby as to why I'm cross-eyed 🧐.

Love how you show what a symptom might look like for that person……I’m 52 (woman) and suffer from Fibromyalgia, my vision is very strange, it varies, from eye to eye, 1 day the left can be so blurred I can’t even read, then the right can be the same, the blurryness can vary in severity, rarely both are really bad at the same moment thankfully, they vary so much I don’t know when is the best time to get an eye exam….. after watching your video I’m wondering if it’s down to the Fibromyalgia now….. I use glasses from the store +3.00 and going by your chart that’s way stronger than I should need for my age, but if I don’t use them I can’t read, not sure what to do….. thanks for your time x
Hopefully your eye exam will go well and help you know exactly what power you need, or if you need prescription glasses. I hope they can help with the alternating blur as well. Thank you for watching my videos.
I had double vision. It went away when I began making my own cream soda so it would be sugar free. I think the magic ingredient is the real vanilla. I didn't do this for the double vision... It was a pleasant side effect. So I now drink vanilla water or homemade cream soda every day.
Mmmmh I really don’t think it’s the vanilla… I think it’s the fact that it’s “sugar free” and if you haven’t already you should get checked for diabetes asap
I had this from my last pair of prescription/transition eye glasses. Really frustrating when the optometrist told me to give it at least 90 days for my eyes to adjust to the new prescription. Wearing these glasses for more than 4 hours resulted in temporary double vision when I'd take the glasses off. They did another eye exam and concluded there must be a defect in the lense they couldn't see - so they put new lenses in the frames but I still experienced it. I wore those glasses for a full year, ugh. Right now I'm dealing with another pair of glasses with 'issues' and will go back this week for a 4th visit to fit just 1 pair of glasses. This sort of thing has happened almost every year for the last 4 - maybe I need to find a new practice - getting frustrating to have to visit the eye doc 5-6x a year just to get a pair of glasses I can see out of.
Thanks for commenting. This occurrence can be annoying.... when you need glasses to see, but the glasses are messing with the eyes. But it can be common for the glasses to be inducing prism and double vision if they aren't made right.
How do I get rid of the double vision if it started to occur last 2 years maybe it started when I got my glasses but I noticed it right when I had Covid and happens every day now constantly unless I look out a certain part of my right eye. Is it able to go away? I want to be able to wear contacts and I don’t think they make those with prisms. My eye doctor just rx prisms but I haven’t gotten them yet. Also what are your thoughts on neurolens ? I’m just trying to figure out the best option without having to increase the thickness of my lense bc I’m already a -6.75 and -6 at the age of 27. I just don’t want to have to keep increasing my rx. Also if I wore my current rx for 2 years and maybe it caused my double vision how would I know? Sorry for all the questions, thanks in advance for the help!!

Dr., Is it possible for mild Vertigo to be a cause of these symptoms too? No spinning symptoms, just Diplopia... can last around 30 minutes until sitting back down and relaxing then vision returns to normal.
Diplopia can come from Vertigo, as balance is linked with the inner ear and eyes. Diplopia can also trigger vertigo. So it's important to make sure to get the eyes checked out along with everything else.

I have thyroid eye disease
