  • Oh dear. It’s finally here. I’ve been thinking of getting PS2 copy of Manhunt (with great and thematic manual) for a long time. Since I like this game (and I’m still a mentally normal person). I consider it to be good and quite unique since I don’t know any other analogs of it (Manhunt 2 doesn’t count, it’s a sequel). It’s one of the only game that used the style of snuff films and the gave the feeling that somebody is shooting at the exact moment (only Kane and Lynch 2 tried something like that, but it was different and not that cool), as well as horror elements where you have to survive and think on how, what and when to use (though the fighting felt a bit clunky but bearable and shooting sometimes smoothly sometimes not on PC. And yeah, I’ve completed this game four times on PC), really oppressive atmosphere where you’re forced to do what you do, and you feel that you’re killing bad people, but feel a bit sick at how exactly you dispose of them (and in their dialogues between themselves they feel a lot more like characters than in TLOU 2), moreover like in Terminator 1 everything takes place at night, that makes you feel less secure, especially with the sounds, excellent voice acting (whoever decided to hire Brian Cox as Starkweather deserved a raise) and the music (Craig Conner is a genius. Pigsey’s theme still creeps me out). On one hand it’s sad that the more you play, the more action oriented the game becomes, but on the other hand the prey becomes the hunter, the hunter becomes the prey. So, Rockstar made something they can do masterfully. They gave a unique experience which you’ll never forget.
