- I'm back again with another massive, overgrown yard transformation. In the last episode I did the front of this property, and I'm back to finish it all off. This one has everything from mowing to power washing (must keep the power washing fans happy). It also has some small repairs to a gate and fence, which is a nice touch. Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working. All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved.
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

What separates George from ALL THE OTHERS is the TIME he spends on each property, and the fact that he treats each property/client like it's his own yard or family. Most others don't do that, and it shows in his work.
I agree over here in the US there are some that leave thick grass on the lawn, but he probably wouldn't blow it back on his lawn and he has millions of followers I unsubscribed just for that reason
Yes they do. The others as you say it, do a lot of hard work cleaning up lawns that might have trash or other debris you can’t see from the street. And then they do a great job in mowing the overgrown grass and use their weed eater for all the overgrown weeds. And they do clean up all the grass clippings and weeds in large bags and take it away. It’s a shame you put down all the people who also do amazing yard work, fixing and make their client happy, help clean up abandon homes to look presentable again. They all do a great job. It’s funny when people watch certain videos they’re fixated on, and bash other TH-camrs of the work they do. Lol 🤦🏻♀️

@@lanag492You unsubscribed his channel? 🤷🏻♀️… Why the need to bring up what lawn care people do here in America? Lol.. How would you know that they leave thick grass clippings on the lawn? If you actually ask why or research why, homeowners or gardeners, leave grass clippings on the lawns they just freshly mowed. So you’ll be happy to know it is a good thing that they do that. Grass clippings improves lawn quality, returns nutrients to the soil. I’ve been taking care of my lawn for years and I learned a lot about lawn care. So it’s not because they’re lazy. But it’s a shame that the Americans who watch videos from another country, and then Americans compare other ways of life from another country as if they’re so perfect., some Americans always need to make their own country look bad, you could always move to another country! That fence line was a challenge! You did a great job! Thank you for fixing her gate and fence for her. Sometimes the little things are what matters most. I didn't realize how bad her sidewalks and drive were until you got them wet! The difference is amazing and so much safer for the whole family. In the backyard, all the problems come from neighbors who don't take care of their trees and shrubs. Once again it proves that there is no need to plant anything near the fence.

Bravo! Well worth the wait on this backyard. The transitions and POVs were nice and there was some good music in there. You have really given this family back their space, and made it as perfect as was able from the starting condition. All the small things like fixing the gate, putting up a more viable dog block, and mending areas of the fence really just put the icing on an already delicious video! 👏👏👏👏👏

@@alanatolstad4824 I watch here for the music and then on V2 for just engine and tool noises. Sometimes the music is good enough to have going in the background while I do other things around the house. This particular episode had some really nice choices.

LOVE the music George! The fence was truly a hot mess. You did your best! That really was some wierd grass. Epic transformation my friend. Well done! The best videos are when a person’s yard is completely cleared of all waste and rubbish and returned to a clean slate. There are so many yards out there that are chockablock fulll of discarded rubbish. Thanks George for cleaning up these yards.
Another attention-to-detail follow-up project for this family. I think you just might be the top two as far as yard transformation projects go. This family should be proud that you gave them back their outdoor living space to enjoy. That is a lot of green waste that you are cutting down, and doing it on your own not having anyone to help you. It would be nice for whoever owns that motorcycle to come out and help. Beautiful job! Seems like the overgrown bushes next door have encroached on this property. Too bad you could not cut them back so you could push the fence back straight up. Those bushes next door are really overgrown. As always you have done a magnificent job . . . . .

Hi George, in this episode you acted like a real magician... you doubled the garden! How high can you get to prune with poles? At 13:51, well, the camera can be deceiving but...wow!!! Looks 6 meters up💪! One question: you always say that in Australia you can cut everything that grows beyond the fence, but in this case, where the fence falls due to plants growing on the other side, who should repair it?
