  • I want to state, once again, working on a gun off camera much easier than doing it on camera. Re-establishing sear spring at that ANGLE, on camera, felt like a circus trick. You will be doing it flat - standing over it.
Note that on hammer ("7") metal part, hold down with thumb on your desk while releasing tail on large spring. Prevents stress on parts.
But gun shoots great and promptly blasted through water-filled pop can with R-10 pellet.
Here is more help if you need it for valve removal and repair:

Was all set to use my Beeman as a paper weight but decided to replace all the o rings. Did that but messed up the trigger assembly. This video explained and showed exactly how to do it. I know have two fully functional Beeman P17. Well Done and thank you. Frank

Excellent video! Easy to understand and this really helps a lot. Thank you for explaining how this all comes apart and goes back together.

Wow-what a pain to deal with that spring. Thanks for the hard work to bring this video to us.

Hey, Alfred, I checked out your channel. You look like a thoughtful Southern gentleman. Like Ozark and Dad72.
Mama Moon salad looks like a great dinner salad. I'm gonna try it. A female friend excited to make one.
The fake bacon good move because vegetarians can try this recipe.
Your cemetery group looks interesting. Looks much more than civil war buff. Curious to get a male's perspective here. I have a client, a retired teacher from Georgia. I asked her if calling Southern women Southern Bells ok.
She said: "Well, growing up in Georgia, when women got together to talk about other women, calling them Southern Bells was like Northern women calling a gal a princess. You know, a gal who wears white dresses with flowers, won't get her hands dirty. As a guy, you probably are ok, but it's up in rhe air how that gets received. Just say lady of the South or Southern lady. Just calling me by my name is fine!"
I just call the ladies running Daisy customer service Daisy Ladies now. Alfred, can you give me your opinion here?

@@daisy880fanaticfixit9 Thank you for the kind words about my videos. I am glad you liked them. I am turning an old chicken coop into an airgun range, I will soon be doing some videos about the airguns I have about 13 and adding to as I can. More cooking videos to come also. I love all kinds of history, I am posting old photos of Atlanta on Facebook that people love to see.
As far as calling ladies a Southern Bell. I think it is just fine if you know a little about the lady. In this day and time, it seems everyone is offended by something. Just read the lady as to how she talks and the way she acts. In the South, it's about tradition that is ingrained in us from an early age so I see nothing wrong with it. Men in the South call ladies Southern Bells as a compliment meaning pretty, gracious and thoughtful. That's my 2 cents, hope it helps my friend.

Alfred, I wanted your valued opinion on a more serious TH-cam talk. I was so impressed by the care you gave the "Southern Bell" question.
Have you had to mute anybody on your channel? A cop helping me me made clear to "defend" the comments section and keep crazies out. He feels the worst move is to turn off notifications and let it be the wild west down there. You know, one rat attracts another rat. One broken window brings another broken window.
I respect your genuine Southern humility. Others, see good manners as weakness because they are primitive. Certain types from the East Coast have been a problem. Have you had to drop the hammer on crazies in comments?

@@daisy880fanaticfixit9 Thank you, my friend, for the kind words. Yes I have had to outright block people from my channel for nasty comments they were making even after asking them to tone it down. I always keep an eye on the comments that are made. Yes, people have the right to speak what they think and feel, but not at the cost of decency after all the comments reflect on your channel and on you. I always ask the person to tone it down or ask them what is wrong that they need to comment like they are doing. I only ask once and then if that does not work they are gone. This is the best way I have found to deal with those type of people. I hope this helps you, my friend.

Wow..I remember having trigger problems in the past on this gun few years back and even though I dont remember it in detail I do remember those springs being really aggravating to get right. ..especially the one you had trouble with. But I did got it. 🤯 Kudos to your work there...you done it better than I did.

Greatly appreciated. I did a little lube tune and I placed some industrial teflon tape (the yellow one) in the valve of my pistol. I chronied it at 338 FPS with 7gr gamo match pellets, after the tune, I chronied it and it was shooting the same pellet at 368 FPS.

Musgo, glad it worked out! P-17 pretty great shooter for the price. The much more expensive German version has better trigger, but once you get used to the nebulous Chinese trigger, it works well. A solid 11/2 group, from a rest, at 12 yards or more not too hard.
I like Express pellets and RS JSB in this pump gun

Thanks for gratitude. Yes, my brief foray into the P-17 was rewarding. Harbor Freight Storehouse SAE and Metric rings are perfect for that Chinese pistol.
I wish it could have been fancier video, but figured it was good enough. A head cam would have been awesome, but as long as you did this on flat table, you probably did fine.
Remember to get EXACT sizes. Close can cause ring mobility - they move around and come loose.
      005 SAE valve
      008 Metric valve
      116 Metric pump head
      008 SAE breech

Hi, I had this conversation with my local gun shop. They said the P-17 NEEDS auto safety because of how risky a discharge is during the loading process. Based on the German P-3, the original German engineers thought it was important. The Chinese stuck with it.
I understand why you would want to disable it, but the risk is really high
Try talking to Libra7. He is a serious P-17 fanatic.
