    Thanks for this.
TIP: i had issues with the knife pressures, even when i set them to the minimum is design space were cutting right through the my vinyl backing. it took some trial and error, but i managed to fix by raising the height of the blade holder. works a treat now!
now i need to 3d print some blade holder collars so i dont have to guess the height the blade should be at!
BONUS TIP: if i can do something cheaper I will. So I bought some flexible cutting matts from the supermarket, i cut them down to size and i use making take to fix my vinyl to it - you can also buy some spray tack to make it sticky. Works out about the 1/3 of the price of the Cricut matts, and i also got 4 matts in the pack!

I so happy you did this video! Now I have to buy a Maker3! I have a Maker and the reason I held back on the 3 is having to use the Smart Vinyl!!! I am NOT paying for Cricut supplies, they are NOT worth the money and are NOT better than Siser!! I wanted it for the ability to make really big decals just like this but that Smart vinyl thing just had me shaking my head! I was ready to buy the Joy and figure out how to splice decals to make them really big so this helped me a lot! I am fine with having two Makers!

If you take the weed box and duplicate it three times then you will have 4, take all 4 and center them together then weld them. Then put your decal picture in the weed box that you sent to the back and group them together and then attach. Once you cut that it will cut the box out so you won’t have to use scissors to cut the paper once you are done weeding.

Thank you Monica, I have been searching for days on how to create a longer project without having to buy smart vinyl… I don’t own a cricut maker 3 yet, and I was trying to justify purchasing one. What would be the point if I have all these beautiful colors from all these different brands and I can’t use them w/Longer cuts.
Thank you so much for showing such an easy example, I already taped together my 2-12” mats to cut something longer on my current explore air 2. Thank you for sharing! This video alone was enough to convince me that it is possible to overcome the limitations of possible vinyls for large designs and opt for the Maker 3!
One thing I’m curious about is in your video, you showed that not only was the maker 3 tricked into thinking it was continuously cutting smart vinyl, it seemed to be cutting 2x faster as well. Does this mean when using a mat with regular vinyl, cricut can cut 2x faster if you specify you are using smart vinyl instead of on mat?

( a mountain and a few different trees) I sent the trees back and brought some forward and arranged them, but when I went to cut, it cut the trunk through the mountain, and some of the overlapping trees. so when I weed it, It pulls up half the tree and mountain. I have done lots of research and I can't seem to figure it out.
