The patience you had through the entire video gave me confidence because I always start freaking out when certain things happen, but you reassuring “don’t worry we can fix that” made me feel so much better!
This is so cute & fun. Thanks for not editing out the hard parts so we can see the pitfalls to avoid and how to fix them! You are truly a blessing in the Cricut/Vinyl world!
Jennifer, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I recently had someone else I follow offer a video on how to avoid the top mistakes people make with their Cricut. It was a one hour sales pitch for the “Master” class being sold for over $200. A big waste of time. It did, however, give me an even greater appreciation for your hard work on the in depth videos you produce. Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and insights at no charge. This video in particular was SO much clearer and easier than another one I already watched. Breaking it into the large mats is key. I’ll be investing in large mats for a large stenciling project that’s been on my “some day” list for a couple of years. Thanks again for all you do to help us at home crafters.
I've seen this done before, but your video was much easier to understand. You have the patience of a saint Jennifer and I love your soothing voice. Thanks for showing how this is done and yes it would be cool to see it done with paper as well. Hugs, Brenda
I finally took the time to watch this video! I've been wanting to make a larger than life "cutout" for my grandson. Since you mentioned using cardstock at the end, I think that would be the perfect idea for my purposes! Thank you Jennifer!
Excellent video! I truly appreciate you sharing a start to finish tutorial. You kept it real showing the tricky parts - vinyl wrinkles and managing the oversized pieces of vinyl, transfer tape, and the finished large decal. Thank you! Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
This lady is on point very professional. I am sure she's been doing it for a lifetime and now it's just getting easier for her with technology and so many ideas on the internet. I watch this channel for hours it is the go-to channel for the question she's a natural keep up the excellent work thank you.
thaaaaank you so much jennifer for such an informative, educational, and an answered prayer video ❤ all my cricut beginner's questions have all been answered
I made this assumption about larger pieces and I'm so glad you decided to tap into our minds. yours came out great I'm excited to try it! I love it!! You're amazing!
Thank you! Although I probably won't be doing this design. This video convinced me to buy a Circuit machine. I have been looking at them for years. I love that the newest machine cuts fabric. You are amazing keep going with your channel. I have now subscribed and I hope to watch many more and learn from you. I absolutely love that you didn't assume that we know everything. People that are new to this really need the detail.
Thank you, My daughter just opened her Spa. She is a Massage Therapist, in Tennessee. She also works at a chiropractors' office to doing massages. She has been a Massage Therapist for over 15 years. I want to put her signs on the freshly painted walls . I appreciate you showing me how to do it with the machines I have. Thank you so very much! Ms. Ford
Jennifer, you are the first person that explained how to layer in a way I could easily understand. I truly appreciate your awesome video and look forward to future ones! Thank you so much!
I thought being the video was very long it would loose my interest and I'd be fast forwarding a lot. NOT THE CASE! I found your tutorial very interesting, informative, and was hooked start to finish! Not only did I learn how to tackle Larger Than Mat projects, but all your little tips were extremely helpful. I'm definitely heading out to get me one of those big cutting surfaces you used!
Terrific job! Thank you for this video. I often wondered how to cut and join larger vinyl images and you took the mystery out of it for me. Thank you, Jennifer. You’re awesome!
Thank you Jennifer for another great video. One of the things I have found is that if you have a wrinkle near the edge of your vinyl you can gently work it out using your scraper. Another thing is that sometimes to get the vinyl from my 24” mat it is easiest to “drop” your mat- start pulling your vinyl away from the mat, then quickly drop (while holding mat in one hand and vinyl in the other) your hands while gently spreading the pieces apart. I have also found that sometimes I have to scrap the back of a design before peeling it off. Sometimes I will turn the design over to the back- after placing it on transfer tape- and peeling away the backer paper. Probably everyone that has had a Cricut for a while knows these tricks.
Love this, I am going to try this for my granddaughter for Christmas, she wants a huge unicorn stuff animal, so this would be great to go with it. Thank you 🙏
Hi Design On A Dollar! Did you make the larger than mat Unicorn for your granddaughter? If so, can you share your experience in making it? Thank you and Happy New Year!
You go girl! You made the project less scarier than what I thought it was and always explained awesomely. Thank you so much for being a Cricut Superwoman; don’t know what we would do without you!
I agree with all of these other comments that I am reading.... I appreciate that you showed that you still need patience and perseverance no matter your experience level in creating these projects, as well as talking about how to keep from making the mistakes that can make even basic projects harder (like how to keep things from sticking together, and using painters tape like an extra hand, etc.) I'm about to start some bigger projects, and this is going to make the process quite a bit easier. Thank you.
My 1yo just sat and watched this whole thing so excited. She kept shouting "Me! Me!" while watching, so I guess we are doing this for her and her twin sister's new room.
Thank you for a great step by step tutorial. I would also like to see the paper version. I have been cricuting now for about 4 years and you have become my go-to gal for anything "how to" related! Keep up the amazing work!
I've been intimidated by my Cricut my husband bought me as gift last Christmas. I found your channel tonight, and I'm inspired. I love how you cover all the bases and trouble shoot challenging situations. Thank you, and I look forward to watching more!
Be ready to face intimidation many times!!! I swear it is part of the Cricut culture!! Have had my machine for a couple of years and there are still times that I get intimidated. Be gentle and kind to yourself- you will master it. Happy crafting!!
OMG Jennifer, you did such an amazing job. You have so much patience. I really appreciate that you did not edit anything and showed me how to fix some of the issues which could come up. You are such a real person. I appreciate your expertise and all the hard work. Thank you again. I look forward to trying to attempt to do a similar project. lol
I want to see the B-roll footage on this one, particularly the part where you throw the empty wine bottle at camera guy (greg?) hahaha, very frustrating project obviously, you look exhausted by the time you finish it. Oh.My.Gosh! You are the most patient person on Earth. You sounded so relieved when you started applying the "sun spots."n "This is probably the easiest part of the whole project." I would have been turning the air blue well before that point.
Great video, buy I would like to see something made with card stock. It would be nice to see how you take the card stock off the mats, how you tape them together to look seamless. I can see how vinyl is easy because it's adhesive, but a video with card stock and the types of glues and tapes to use would be helpful. And how to stand them up. Again, great video, I wish I had your videos when I first got my machine.
Dear Jennifer! Thank you so much for this video! I’ve done smaller wall decor projects for kids but I’ve really wanted to make a larger one but didn’t know how! I want you to know that I know you worked hard on this long video so we could see all the steps. Your hard work it truly appreciated! Thank you so much!
My husband just bought me my first Cricut for Christmas. Though he bought it early and I know its coming I can't wait to get started. Your videos are so informative and I have learned so much before I have even opened the box.
I so appreciate this tutorial - your step-by-step-step instructions were a big help! Also made me feel less of a klutz when I saw you getting wrinkles and creases when you were placing the vinyl down so a big thank you as well for showing us the real rather than the ideal. Just a note, I don’t recall where I saw it but thanks to another tutorial, I started using kid’s snap bands to keep my vinyl and wrapping paper rolls closed - I can get them at the dollar store and I can see them easier after getting the vinyl and am now ready to put it away. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great video, but I cringe at how much vinyl and transfer tape you waste! I hope you just spread everything out so much because it was faster for the video, but you could have moved a lot of those pieces much closer together to save on your materials. That stuff is expensive!
Same here, when she was saying to "spread things out" I was like what??? you mean smash them in together so you can have huge chunks leftover you can use for the small bits of things later on, right? RIGHT?! I'll be honest, with my Midwestern penny pinching ways I purposely offset my materials by 1/8ths of an inch both down and to the right so I don't have the 1/4 inch waste the Cricut forces on you... I mean I got 4 extra ornament blanks out of my acetate by doing that!
Thank you, Jennifer, as a beginner Cricut user I have had a tough time working with applying vinyl. Getting mixed up with when to mirror or when to turn vinyl facing mat. I appreciate this tutorial so much. thanks again.
Glad it was helpful, Sonja! Don't worry about getting vinyl information straight! It just takes a while, and experience working with it! This might help out, too! 😉🥰 jennifermaker.com/ultimate-guide-to-vinyl/
Bless your heart! This looked a little aggravating to do, especially the purple, but you hung in there like a hair in a biscuit, as we say here in the south! Enjoy watching you, even though I love my silhouette.
How were you so calm and getting these things lined up so straight so fast?! This gave me anxiety! I’d have ripped all of my vinyl, had a full blown tantrum, and lit my craft room on fire! Your level of zen during this project is #goals. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh, no, Laura! I always want you to have fun with your crafting, not get stressed out with it! Remember that I have been doing this for a while. When I first started, it didn't come so easily! And, crafting being crafting, things sometimes now don't come so easily! When that happens, I just put things aside for a while and come back to it later when I've cooled down! We are all human! 😁😍
I'm thinking of purchasing a Cricut machine but wanted to watch a few videos first. I watched three of yours today and really enjoyed them as well as learning a lot. Thank You!
I love how you explain it all it doesn’t let me sleep at anytime like other you tubers (sorry not sorry) do I love the step by step , the sound of your voice perfect balance of narrative etc thank you for all of your content 🙏♥️💪🏻
I watched your video and was amazed. That worked the crap out of you but I really enjoyed what you made. I got my Air 2 a day ago so I am learning how to use it I am SO frightened. It"s so much to learn and I am 74 years old. Wish me luck!!!!
wow I have never watched you do such a long video. You must have needed a nap after that. I think my take away is great but one thing which was eye opening is even though you are a pro you run into the same kind of things we all do. I love to see how you are problem solving as you go along! I learned a lot - have not done layers yet. Rolling up my sleeves now!!!!
So while watching this video I want to tell you thank you. I was asked this question not long ago and when I answered I drug out the word suuuuurrrreeee??? as a question, lol. Also, I am so impressed with your professionalism, I was able to notice when you started wishing this project to be over but you kept a smile, explained everything in detail, and even gave your thoughts without losing your cool. Shout out to Greg for helping once again. Lastly, I wanted to say GREAT JOB!!!
Awww, thank you for your kind words! I think it's important to show that I am a crafter just like everyone else! Some of my projects go smoothly and others are a bit more challenging! 😂 I will pass on your greetings to Greg - he is a HUGE help to both me and our entire team!😍
OMG! Jennifer you did it again. Thank you so much for your tutorial. I learned so much - saving and moving pieces to another vinyl which I did not know. *Thank you soooo much!* _You are one of a kind and that's unique_
Wow, thank you for making this tutorial. You are a true professional. I could never teach like you because I would lose my cool. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
You are so calm! I got anxious watching and found myself holding my breath at times. Lol. Thank you for this amazing demonstration!!! This was great and I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving super size wall decals to the professionals. 🤣
This would take me three days! You are truly a gift to us. Thank you for all of your hard work! I have a challenge for you - what the heck can we make from all of the paper rolls (tubes)that come with each package of vinyl/htv? I hate to throw them away. I don't want to make candles. Can you think of something creative? I think I have enough of the tubes to build a raft!
Haha! If you build that raft, I'd LOVE to see! ;) You could always use them to store things! This was made from PVC, but you could do something similar. :) jennifermaker.com/craft-paint-storage-organizer/
You are a professional...methodical, meticulous, just down right impressive...flawless. You were event spot on with the dots. Maybe I’ll try something like this when I am feeling a little less intimidated. But I will become a subscriber!
You have patience galore, and you kept it the whole way through. Wow. That took so much for you to this video. Yes, like the others all said, you hung in there and got it done with all the real issues that can happen. What a job, great video! Did you have a glass of wine after that?
Thank you soooo much🙂🙂 I’ve had all my wall decals in carts to order but you gave me inspiration to do my own, I didn’t know how but now I do‼️ you are so awesome 😊
Your videos are AWESOME! Ive learned how to use my cricut in seconds because of your. I now have the maker, explore air 2 AND Joy! I am addicted. I'd love to see some more content working with Infusible ink. I am having the hardest time with that. Thanks!
That is awesome! Thanks so much for watching! I am hoping to go live on Facebook today for a new Infusible Ink project! You can find it here: facebook.com/jennifermakercrafts/
This is amazing and so helpful. I have no idea what I’m going to do with the skills this taught me but I know you just taught me something incredibly invaluable
The patience you had through the entire video gave me confidence because I always start freaking out when certain things happen, but you reassuring “don’t worry we can fix that” made me feel so much better!

(sorry if this is "common knowledge") with Cardstock make sure you use the light stick (purple) cricut mats.

It has been much easier than rubber bands for me.
I'm so glad you find the information helpful! Thanks for watching! 💗
Love it, was worried about how to do this.
Jennifer, your videos had inspired me to reconnect with Cricut. I have one of the Pre-explore early models and liked it. But I couldn’t afford the time then. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing! 😃
I want to try this, but it’s giving me anxiety just watching you work with these big pieces!
im just like wow too expensive a gamble lol
I appreciate you showing how to deal with wrinkled vinyl. It’s great to see that even professionals deal with stubborn issues 🤗.
Right? I deal with and make plenty of mistakes! :)
You're amazing I can't wait to get started on this! Thank you so much!

Awww, thank you for your kind words! I think it's important to show that I am a crafter just like everyone else! Some of my projects go smoothly and others are a bit more challenging! 😂 I will pass on your greetings to Greg - he is a HUGE help to both me and our entire team!😍
Wow how smart to figure that out! Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of us newbies.
You are so welcome!💗
This is the cutest thing EVER! I love it Jennifer. I'm glad you made a video about this!
Thank you!
OMG! Jennifer you did it again. Thank you so much for your tutorial. I learned so much - saving and moving pieces to another vinyl which I did not know. *Thank you soooo much!* _You are one of a kind and that's unique_
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for your sweet comments, they truly mean a lot to me!
You should try it! You can do it. 😊❤️
Nice job with such a large decal! Your patience is admirable!
Thank you so much! 😀
Wow, that was amazing! You are truly inspiring and a fantastic teacher. Thank you for sharing your gift and talent.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching! 😊🌻
How didn’t I know about moving items to another mat! I feel like there is so much I don’t know! Thank you Jennifer
I'm never gonna complain about the price of ordering big transfers on ebay ever again! That looks like a lot of work. Thank you for that
No problem!
Don't even own a cutter but watched your video. Was a long project even with the sped up parts. You have the patience of Job. Well done.
I was glued to this video! Bravo!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Oh my! You have so much patience. Beautiful project! Thanks so much!

Happy to help! :)
You are a professional...methodical, meticulous, just down right impressive...flawless. You were event spot on with the dots. Maybe I’ll try something like this when I am feeling a little less intimidated. But I will become a subscriber!

I do already subscribe and as always thank you for being so professional to show your mistakes and how to fix
You have patience galore, and you kept it the whole way through. Wow. That took so much for you to this video. Yes, like the others all said, you hung in there and got it done with all the real issues that can happen. What a job, great video! Did you have a glass of wine after that?
Oh yes, a lovely glass of Chardonnay! :)
Thank you soooo much🙂🙂 I’ve had all my wall decals in carts to order but you gave me inspiration to do my own, I didn’t know how but now I do‼️ you are so awesome 😊
YAY! Happy to help! Best of luck!
Wow, I agree, you kept it real! Thank you! Wish I could do multiple thumbs up!
