And to top it all off, spanish drivers are generally very careful with cyclist. It is the safest place I've felt on the road, drivers actually follow the law of keeping 1,5m away from cyclists who, bytheway, are allowed to ride side by side. Maybe everyone knows someone who cycles so it is best to keep it safe.

It's been four years since I was there and it appears there has been an explosion of cycling businesses. It's the roads and the culture that respects bicycles that makes Girona special and now I fear it has gone too far with the commercialization of those elements. But, where in America could that happen? Where is America's Girona?

Wonderful place. In the old days it was not so nice to live. People packed in, often scraping rent to sleep standing for the night, or slum it outside. No waste disposal, it was chucked out of the window, everything! Worse of all - there were no bikes and few could afford a horse! It's amazing how much the industrial revolution has improved the lives of so many. Perhaps too many of us today just sit at home in front of screen though. Reminds me to get out and get some adventures. Loved watching yours though, best use of the screen!

The jewish quarter of Girona disappeared at the end of the Middle Ages, in the year 1492. I guess that the lady mistook with the dates.
