    I have a lamp without wiring that my daughter in law gave me, I haven't gotten around to buying everything that would make it complete lamp. I'm not going to now, it will be a beautiful bird bath. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT IDEA!

    That would make an awesome little side table for your chair just to set your cup of coffee on and maybe have a book on it.Oh my goodness.That is a cute and inexpensive idea for an old lamp.I gave away some real big Chunky.Wooden lamps with golden eagles on them that I could have taken off and that was made a beautiful side table.I didn't know that that you could use it for something else.But I gave him away anyway.Maybe I can find some method thrift store that I like for a side table

    I found a beautiful lamp base and a most unusual retro coloured glass bowl (shallow with a slit where the one portion curls under giving a finger loop to grasp the bowl) to make a bird bath/feeder. I'm excited to see the finished product.

    Been making these for 10 or 12 years. I have been using shallow clear plastic bowls for birdbaths etc. since glass is prone to hail damage. There are so many faux cut glass and crystal look plastic items. These are always lovely. : ) Small lamps make excellent display stands for cupcakes for weddings. or hors d'oeurves etc for parties.

      Anything deep enough to accommodate the bolt size. Some just won't budge without a saw, especially with plaster mould lamps. Bowls, saucers, cups, condiment dishes, votives, caps, tiny boxes, etc. Save all your unused project parts in case you may need them for another.

    • @StuckinMO
      @StuckinMO 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most lamps i work with have enough room to lower the threaded rod the half inch or so to make the rod flush with the top of the lamp. You might use a thin metal bolt or a circle of metal to glue securely to the top of the threaded rod. That’s how I’d do it anyway!

      It could. The wooden lamp base in our video is actually plastic. If you use wood and plan on putting outside you could seal it but it would still be exposed to the elements.

    It doesn't look like it is stable, considering not only birds drink from it,. But squirrels as well.

    Great ideas but I am not a fan of using glass for outdoor accessories. Glass is too easily broken creating a hazard for children and animals.
