    Just a fabulous production and not only a great history of the Giants but a great look back at the Parcell years and the greatest time in their history. Wonderfully entertaining to see the connection they made with New Jersey.

    I'm a born & raised Brooklynite who moved to the Jersey Shore area in 94. I loved this video & it gave me goosebumps. However, one thing they got wrong. There were no mention of the NY based Giant fans at all. All my friends & family including countless thousands of NY Giant fans before the move, stayed loyal to the Giants after the move. It's not like they moved to L.A.. I don't know one NY based fan who stopped following them because they went to N.J.. In fact, most of those crowds at the stadium were Newyorkers.
    It was misleading in this respect.

    • @roflcopter117
      @roflcopter117 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, also maybe it is a bit arbitrary but MetLife is closer to the NYC city hall than Yankee Stadium is. It's not like NJ public transit doesn't also terminate in Manhattan. It's part of the area, however if they wanted room they could have built it Upstate instead of going across the Hudson.

      @@roflcopter117 That's why NY is politically one of the worst states in the union. You think they learned after losing the Giants & the Dodgers.

      I don't mean to troll you. But the Cowboys shouldn't even be in the NFC East. At least based on geographics. They only did that back in 1970 because of the (Cowboys vs Indians) Cowboys vs Redskins thing. Look at all the teams that were realigned back in 2002. Moving Tampa Bay, Carolina, New Orleans and Atlanta to the NFC South. Moving the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks to the NFC West. The then St. Louis Rams have a long rivalry with the 49ers. St. Louis is called 'The Gateway To The West', hence their gateway arch monument. If anything, the St. Louis Rams should have been at worst in the NFC North with the Bears, Packers, Lions and Vikings. But since the Rams are back in Los Angeles, it's a mute point now. Just for note, the Los Angeles Rams franchise started in Cleveland back in 1936. Moving Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Tennessee and Houston to the AFC South. Now if The Texans are in the AFC South, how the heck are the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East? I understand the rivalry thing. But the Cowboys should be in the NFC South. You can move Carolina, Atlanta or even Tampa to the East. The Cowboys will still run into the Washington Football Team (Commanders), Eagles and Giants from time to time. I think the Cowboys being in the NFC South would help their travel, rest and overall well being as a franchise.

    I have been a Giants fan since 1982 so I am fortunate to have witnessed all four super bowl victories and one loss and I'm proud to say that every NFC championship game played in the meadowlands the Giants have came out victorious and even more held their opponents to 0 points and in this time span of being a Giants fan I've had my share of ups and downs and there have been a lot of downs but when the team is been on fire it makes up for it and I definitely love me some Eli Manning but I know that this team will be back in the super bowl giving us our fifth Lombardi trophy hopefully in the very near future so go big blue and yes I will say they are the New Jersey Giants

    I'm sorry but this documentary from NFL Films, which is usually pretty reliable, is misleading. Watching this you would think that after the Giants left New York, New Jersey is 100% unified in its love and devotion for them like Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Dallas, etc., for their teams. Rubbish.
    I was born, raised and have lived within a few miles of every town, deli, restaurant, etc., mentioned in this program. So I would point out the following.
    Yes, because they are the older franchise, moved to New Jersey first and have had more success, NORTHERN New Jersey is mostly Giants territory. But it's NOT uniform and this is NOT Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Cleveland, etc. To watch this documentary, you would never know that the Jets have also called the Meadowlands home SINCE 1984 - even before the Giants won their first Super Bowl. And yes, I know that the Jets fanbase trends more to Queens and LI because of their having played at Shea Stadium. But you watch this film and you'd never guess the Meadowlands had a second tenant. And of course the Jets are now ensconced in their new training complex in Florham Park, NEW JERSEY.
    Also, except for occasional brief periods, the Giants and Jets have been so dreadful for most of their years here that this area is heavily populated with Cowboys, Steelers and Patriots fans, as well as fans of a bunch of other teams, not to mention that the whole southern part of the state from what, Trenton south?, are Eagles fans. The metropolitan area and definitely the state is fractured in its fandom and not uniform at all.
    This cult like devotion to the Giants depicted in this documentary? As if the Giants are a 365 day a year obsession? Again, this is just a small number of fans. New York - and when I say that I mean the New York metropolitan area because only politicians and some parochial fans care about the NY/NJ thing - is, was and will always be a baseball town. Even when the two football teams have a pulse the talk remains Mets and Yankees - every day of the year.
    Finally, two other corrections. I don't know what the big deal is with Moonachie. Giants Stadium, both old and new, is in East Rutherford. And Wellington Mara was NOT the driving force behind turning the Giants around in the late 1970s no matter how many chairs he was kicking into pieces. As most fans know, he feuded with his nephew Tim - they both wanted to hire different people as the GM - and Pete Rozelle had to step in to broker a resolution of the deadlock and that's how George Young - the architect of the turnaround - got hired. Young is shown in this documentary at the press conference when Ray Perkins was hired, but I don't think he's otherwise mentioned or acknowledged. Strange considering that he's the guy who was the most responsible for the turnaround since he hired Parcells and built the roster.

      Spot on ZZ Smith.... This is NFL propaganda at best, anything to create hoopla and dollars. If the good folks in NFL marketing had their way every NFL stadium, every bar and restaurant, and each and every living room with a television would be packed with gullible adoring fans with disposable income. I'm sure they read the comments from time to time to gauge the effectiveness. I imagine they'll replicate this in all of the older established NFL markets; anything for a buck you know. Lol! They even stuck a token black guy in there to make seem balanced but it came off as contrived.

      lol how about you drop the manifesto and just say you're an Eagles fan

      @@erikromatowski9342 First, it's obvious you don't know what the word manifesto means. Second, you post a snarky reply but you haven't responded - or disputed - a single thing I said. And you can't because I'm 100% percent right. Third, I'm not an Eagles fan although why that would matter is beyond me - since I'm 100% right. Finally, I'm old enough to have been at Giants Stadium for Giants-Cardinals in 1978 when the guy flew the plane over the stadium with the banner ''15 Years of Lousy Football....We've Had Enough.''

      you said northern jersey is mostly Giants territory which is true so there’s definitely a lot more people that share their love for the Giants there than any other team. even if the entire state of jersey doesn’t belong to the giants they still own new york city and parts of connecticut too. shut up
