I caught a 4lb large mouth, and as I pulled him in my daughter (who is 6) hooked a 6.5lb while essentially playing around on a 2 inch grub....she beat my pb without trying. That’s funny my daughter done the same thing when she was 5 lol now that 5 year old got married yesterday wow they grow up fast
Thinnner gauge hooks = better hook ups, but require less pressure being applied.
Thicker gauge hooks = more force to drive a hook through, but won’t bend as easily.
I avoid eagle claw hooks, they seem too thin for me, even on ultralight, only using 1-2lbs of drag
