Had a full ghostbusters cosplay for a bit now and even built my own 1:1 scale proton pack with lights, sounds, and using the Spengler’s wand with a modified ghost trap, but until last night I didn’t have a PKE meter but now that I have one this video worked wonders for, especially because I don’t do much soldering and have felt kind of stupid for owning one for a while now, finally got some good use out of it and it worked PERFECTLY. Thanks so much.
Great tutorial! really easy to follow along! i was confused at first as to how the mod changes the functions...so heres what it does. The left button turns on the PKE, the right button makes the wings go up...you can hold the right button down and they will go all the way up, or quick presses to go up in bursts. the left button also acts as a switch between the wings going up and down.
This may be the greatest mod ever! Now my pke is 100% better! I dont know anything of electronics and even i could do it! Thank you so much!! Im gonna let my gb team know about this mod, its a must do!
Yo i got this baby done yesterday with the mods! The pke completely stopped working but after doing this mod its working fine and better than before, I've never used a soldering gun so I'm so proud of myself ngl, using something dangerous for the first time and not hurting myself but also doing something right at the same time😂😂😂
It's been many months since I last commented, only just got round to doing the mod today and it's worked like a charm thank you very much. The rubies is not as fun to work with as the Spirit one you had, but I managed it nonetheless. Also muted the speaker as I said I would.
@@ebwarg Indeed, luckily I didn't break it! Re-reading my old comments I think the one I just modded was actually by "Imagine," I've got a rubies one on the way, got me confused haha. I'm assuming the two are on-par cheapness-wise. Thanks for the great video!
I've fixed a hidden tactile switch on the back of the handle activates the power and alternates the wing directions. The og button is now a dummy switch while the demo button can now be held down to move the wings. My channel has a great video on how I did this.
Could it be possible to switch where the button is so the left one is to move the wings and the right switches its direction? Also how does one change the wing sequence?
Yeah, just switch the position of the buttons. As for the light sequence, I believe I put the wiring diagram somewhere in this video. The reason I haven’t made a vid showing the details is that I rarely manage to open the wing covers without damaging the circuit board.
I couldn't care less about the wings going up and down like the movie. All _I_ want is a mod to turn the demo button into a button to make the lights and sounds go faster when I hold it down and slow down when I remove my thumb. In a _perfect_ world both would be superb, but I'll gladly take what I can get. :)

You are a wealth of knowledge for us modifiers :)

Hey I’m one of the retro ghostbusters with A.A. Ron! Lol nice!

Yeah, it’s (even) more cheaply made, and thus more fragile.

@@DalekWindmill IIRC, Imagine and Rubies are different labels for the same company.
Thank you so much for showing this. Question. Does it mater what blue wire you jump?
No, either one of the wires attached to the button will do. Same with the wires attached to the motor.
Thanks again. Did this lastnight to mine. Love it.
Did you have any more ideas about completing the mod without soldering? Great video!
cool mod... when i get the one from walmart i will do the same.. thanks for this (Dan)
Cool idea and a very easy mod to do. Thank you very much for the info i did it in a few mins and now works great
Thanks this helps a lot

My channel has a great video on how I did this.
Could you do a mod where the motor goes faster so the wings go up as fast as the movie?
By the way can you show the mod for the sound on and off switch?????
Could it be possible to switch where the button is so the left one is to move the wings and the right switches its direction? Also how does one change the wing sequence?

Could you make a video, for a mod where the lights and sound go faster when you make the wings go up, and they go slower when the wings go down?
T.R Animatronics Sadly, that’s beyond my current abilities. I wish I could!
You can’t do that without a custom board.
not bad, ill probably do this mod, however id prefer one button for wings up, and the other button for wings down, that would be the ultimate mod.
Hey this video is great! Just did this to mine thanks to you!! I may be 5 months late but is there anyway to adjust sound speed?
I think that would require replacing some of the circuitry. Definitely above my skill level!
@@ebwarg Waaaayyy above mine too haha. Anyway thanks so much for all of your videos! Definitely entertaining and helpful!

@@thenerdofalltrades8190 I'm resigned to that. :D
