I hope you enjoy this fun metal detection. I find some pretty cool stuff and am ready to head back to this camp for MOAR relics. Please don't forget to like and subscribe. Chigg Here is a link to a video where I talk about these artifacts: th-cam.com/video/Ak01b53xDcI/w-d-xo.html
I love Chigg's videos. He's the Champagne of TH-cam. My favorite. Tannic acid is the active ingredient in the best anti-rust formulations on the maket. Put it on a rusty part and it darkens to a purple black. It's so good at stopping oxidation that they apply it to rusty guard rails in northern states. I bought a can of 3M spray to hit the rust spots on my car to slow it down. 33 bucks a can. I've never seen anything work like it.
A great day for Aquachigger finding civil war relics. This goes to show that good stuff is still out there. You just have to do the research, get permissions and go looking. No one does this better Chigg.
Chigg would be really cool to find someone that collects and actually fires muskets and rifles. Do a demonstration with him showing how the weapons were loaded and fired. That would be a very interesting video I think.
Good afternoon my friend...Spectacular discovery...Very inspiring and motivating .Good luck ...Greeting from Indonesian traditional gold prospecting 🇮🇩⛏️⚒️💎😍👍👍👍
I'm glad to see someone else has come to the same conclusion as myself on the theory of "pain bullets!" I've always said that was a myth, and for the same reason you gave. Great video Chig!
@@aquachigger Just saw an ad a couple of days ago for 2 bullets. They said one had teeth marks from a hog and the other had "human bites". I didn't bite.
17:45 that plant your metal detector is resting on is called mullein. You dry it and can use as either a tea or a smoke. Helps naturally pull out the phlegm! FYI (strain the tea cause of the hairs)
Chigg’s so many musket balls and Gardner buttlots. Loved the hammer gun piece and the horse tack buckle. I hope you go back there for more civil war relics.👍👏😀
I really enjoyed this video because of how excited you got finding all of those bullets that were dropped. Period maybe in the next video you’ll find gold coins…. we can always dream.
A great Confederate camp . I believe I would go back if possible , I'm thinking emm' Confederate buttons , buckles who knows. Great video Chigg thanks.
I wish I could do this. I would like to metal detect Civil War sites. But with health issues I can't. I visited many battle sites which was very interesting.
Great finds. I live in Massachusetts so i wouldn't find any of that stuff. Especially in a city or town environment. Thanks for the educational adventure
Fresh lead is very soft and easily mailable with a hardness of 1.5 moh's. You can easily scratch lead with a fingernail. That white coating on old lead is Lead dioxide and it has a hardness of between 5 and 6 mohs. Hard enough to break your teeth or your fingernails that have a hardness of 2.5 mohs. Those bullets were much softer when they were new. A person can easily make teeth impressions in pure lead but not lead dioxide.
I have tried it on fishing weights I made myself. While I can put divots in the lead rather easily the marks look nothing like what I have seen on civil war bullets. I agree its wild animals chewing on them!
I saw an awesome idea the other day and seeing how muddy your hands got in this awesome video made me thik it might work you you as well... Take an empty laundry detergent jug rinse it out pretty good and jut put it in the back of your truck and use it to wash your hands and what not. Wouldn't suggest drinking out of it though
Squirrels will actually eat the tops of the lead boots on your vent stacks on roofs. Apparently lead doesn't effect certain animals like it does other animals.
So how much is a dropped Gardner bullet worth in perfect shape and color? Looks like your on a great site looking forward to more thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
Mr. Chigg, can you tell me what diameter the buck shot are? Are they .32”? I’m asking because I would like to experiment with making some buck and ball cartridges for my Charlaville musket. It’s a .69 caliber.
Doc, "Here Jeb....bite on this while I work on ya." Doc, "Dang Jeb.....I didn't say try and bite it in half.....now I gotta fix them gawl dang teefs." Could that hammer be from the left side of a double barrel shotgun?....or as a cajun says.....a twice barrel.
Farmers let their hogs forage. Pigs would find a mini or round chew on it & splt it out= teeth marks. Or eat something that had a bullet in it. Umm not getting graphic about it.
@@aquachigger I'll never be first, Beau, but I will keep working at being the best! Have to admit though that you've got a great bunch of friends, fans, and followers! Tough competition.

Awesome bullets Chig. I'm glad you show the junk, I dig alot of junk. Rk.

Nice Hunt Beau. Was the Gardner bullets made at the Richmond arsenal? Take care my friend.

Hello from Arizona, Chigg. Great video and love seeing the relics.
I hunted with a round ball and patch with my muzzle loader for years and took a bunch of deer with them.
I wish I could do this. I would like to metal detect Civil War sites. But with health issues I can't. I visited many battle sites which was very interesting.
great location. what color uniform would you have worn ?
Maybe that small horshoe looking thing was the heel plate on a boot issued to a soldier?
Looks like a broken chain link or something like that.
Very nice hunt, thanks for sharing. 😎
Gotta love a good lead day Chigg!!!
I like the bullets👍👌😊
Small and heavy..keep em coming!
Excellent
Hi Your hobby looks like fun. I plan to enjoy it when I retire soon. Maybe the spike you found was for a tent.
I so love when you find artifacts of that era < I live in northern MN so won't find any of that cool stuff ,,,

Thanks, happy to hear you like them.
@@aquachigger i do like them, its really awesome that you find old relics like bullets, horseshoes, old coins, buttons, basically anything.
Let’s be honest, the real stars of the show are Bobbie Wobbs and Fiona. The Chigg is a runner up.
Squirrels will actually eat the tops of the lead boots on your vent stacks on roofs. Apparently lead doesn't effect certain animals like it does other animals.
That is correct. We sometimes find rodent teeth marks in them as well. Lead tastes sweet.

Really like the dig's chig. What state was that in? I learned something from your video when I start hunting again here in North Carolina.😊😊
Good day...
g'day.
I wonder if the hammer was from a double barrel gun. It looked like a left hand side hammer
It is. They were common for Confederate Cavalry to carry.
chig man that flat oval iron peace is fire steel fire starter ring
16:35 😂😂😂😂
US Army buckshot cartridge was 12ea .30 caliber balls.
Bo, have you ever found any Civil War soldier bones while metal detecting?
Maybe.
Hello Chigg, with all the Gardner bullets you found in a small area, do you think that might have been a Confederate camp?
Whooo hooo!
Overtime got me.
Sorry to hear that. Time to relax I hope.
I wonder how many of them bullets you find have taken someone’s life went through them
Mr. Chigg, can you tell me what diameter the buck shot are? Are they .32”? I’m asking because I would like to experiment with making some buck and ball cartridges for my Charlaville musket. It’s a .69 caliber.
I believe they were usually .31, but .32 is close enough...lol.
Yay, yankee bones!
A couple years ago, I dug a gold guilt Mississippi Volunteer Corps button (MVC) .
I’ve always wondered what its worth?
Depends on its condition.
It is in excellent condition …
Why is melted lead so common around civil war camps. Were a lot of their bullets being hand made?
They poured some of their bullets but most of the time they used the powder to help start a campfire and throw the bullet in the fire.
What time did this video come on at?
Aluminum Naughty Conspirators Trying to lead you astray tant Happening today!!!; )😂😅
Hey Chigg
Pigs chew on arrowheads too
Humans bones for sure!! Some poor soldier got his arm shot off and you found it and the bullet
Isn't the Gardner bullet the only bullet made in the South "during " the Civil War?
No, there were many other types.
was wondering - what is your greatest find '')

Looks like they dropped more bullets than shooting them 😁
I’m sitting here waiting for that talk
What chewed on the lead and why?
Watch the video and learn the answer.
Yea, I jumped the gun thanks.@@aquachigger
Who else likes all his videos within ten seconds of watching? Lol
that plug at 4:10 approx is clearly virgin ground which is awesome.
Yep, it was wooded and never turned by a plow.
Wild hogs will chew on lead to why I don’t know

That buckle looks like a shoe buckle it is shaped like the top of your foot
Ok
I wonder how many pigs died of lead poisoning?
My teeth are strong enough.
Farmers let their hogs forage. Pigs would find a mini or round chew on it & splt it out= teeth marks. Or eat something that had a bullet in it. Umm not getting graphic about it.
An orange?
Aluminium foil, not Civil War era- no, certainly not!
In that time, aluminium was worth more than gold!
I heard if you bite the bullet your dead.
That's if you buy the farm.
If the amputation didn't kill them lead poisoning did!
Now we know why the south lost. They dropped at their bullets.
I can't bite it i didn't have any teeth im gumless🌝
