- On this adventure I hike into the mountains to metal detect some old stone ruins and find something worth the walk laying right on top of the ground.

Definitely the coin. A rare piece of history.
Only you can make a boring day interesting and enjoyable! Thanks for sharing.
I like the new addition of putting the metals up above when you’re hearing the detector nice Brad ! You are definitely my favorite metal Detectorists to watch. 😊
The 3 cent coin is definitely the most exciting!
And the beaver dam!
Yes!
Cool! Used to love to metal detect. Dry n wet. Always enjoyed it. Never got rich. But i think the thrill of the hunt and exercise is the real pay off. "Today's the Day" as Capt Mel Fischer used to say.
The 1852 Trime all day. The leatherman is nice and functional but... Only 18,663,500 trimes were minted that year. They were only minted from 1851-1873. What a fantastic find. Thank you for another awesome video. 👍💯
So enjoy your discoveries, and commentaries.
My hometown of Fontana California was famous for its large hog farms before the Kaiser Steel Mill was built there to support military efforts in WWII.
We would go digging in the empty fields where one hog farm had stood many years before.
Some of the finds included hand painted marbles, Orphan Annie Radio items, doll heads with the sleeping eyes made in German by Steiner. Railroad locks and tableware from the Southern Pacific Rail Road, a metal tag from RKO Studios, sterling silver silverware and watch cases, coins, cast iron toys, and jewelry.
A friend found a old tobacco pipe with the face of a soldier with lamb chop sideburns and plumes coming down from this helmet.
He was about to throw a blackened piece of metal away, but decided to keep it.
It turned out to be a large silver brooch from China, with a dog playing with a ball under a tree.
Trains full of garbage from Los Angeles would be dumped there for the hogs, but what interesting items found their way there also.
Brad, have you done much detecting near Pittsford Vermont?
A kinsman by the man of Roger Stevens Jr., had built a grist mill there before the Revolutionary War.
I can't help but wonder if some of your old finds came from my ancestors or people they may have known there in Vermont.
Thank you for sharing.
Hey Brad,
Your finds may be less than amazing to you.
But most of them are things many of us may never have seen in our lifetime.
I am seventy five and did not know we ever had an American three cent coin.
Now thanks to you I know that.
Thank you.
The 3 cent piece is very interesting. Thanks Brad…
The dog took the umbrella and ran. I like that guess!
That Three cent piece is great. Even in the very worst condition that would be worth around $30. I think I like this better than the multi-tool.
Thanks for the hunt and particularly the wonderful nature photography! I’m so glad to find a metal hunt that doesn’t repeat and repeat “ggoooold” or coins, or Treasure. You are happy to have a three cent coin, a silver Spanish whatever, or a button. I’ve unsubscribed from my first detecting video that I watched for years because the “treasure hunt” was the interest, not the interesting things that made the things treasure. That along with the 1000th widget which made it as interesting as grubbing up bottle caps and pul tabs. You have a great eye and a channel worth watching even if it were mostly pictures of flora and mushrooms!
I love the pictures of fauna & flora
Friday morning and a metal detecting video, thank you.
The Leatherman for sure. Too bad you don't know any leather craftsman who could stitch up a nice custom holder! (Wink!)
Friday morning, coffee and Brad are nothing better to enjoy while eating breakfast. Nice finds with the multi-tool and the Trime. Another great enjoyable video. Have a great day.
Since many old clocks were weight driven it is possible that the small pulleys are from them. The weights were suspended from a string that went up around a pulley then back down to the clock works. Love your channel!
You missed your calling dude, you should be a film maker in Hollywood Is there an Oscar for TH-cam videos? The Oscar goes to Brad for best cinnamatography .The story lines behind the objects that you find sparks the imagination "how did this thing up in the ground?" Class act Brad .
Brad Martin: I admire your content and very much appreciate the way you encourage viewers to 'like and subscribe or just come back next week'. It's needlessly effective for me because I am subscribed and do come back each and every week, but importantly appreciate the fact that, while I know that you do appreciate the new subscribers, you but do not BEG for it because you've no need for it because your productions speak for themselves - absolute quality. TY!
Found your channel recently after I purchased my first real detector (Equinox 900). I have a trip planned to Oregon in August to the oldest mining town in the state and cannot wait to poke around and maybe find some little pieces of history there. I'm fascinated with all the great stuff you find.
Can’t wait to see what you find. 👍🏼2nd Subscriber here. Keep Diggin! LL
Make sure you have the 6” coil for that, the iron in ghost towns is nuts! Small coil will help separate through the nails and cans 👍🏼
@@huntinquincy4238 Thanks so much for the advice! That will make it easier to fit in my suitcase as well. Heading all the way from Florida to Oregon.
Where at in Oregon are you planning? I live in eastern Oregon if you have any questions.
Good luck! Ghost towns and the desert are my favorite places to be.
Glad you are back on Fridays. It may have been slow, but enjoyable none the less. Thank you for showing the nature you come across.
I love the nature walks with you every week and I find that my joy at your happiness when you find wonderful and interesting things makes my days happier! Keep hunting!!
Some days are like that, seems gloomy, then wow a treasure. :) coin very cool and multi tool is good shape. I would say a good day out. Thanks for sharing as always.
No one person can find everything and treasure is not always defined by its monetary value. I love history and I love imagining what was going on when these items were seemingly lost to time. Thank you for bringing these items and their purposes back to life.
Nice find on the Leatherman! I've had a couple of the mini versions and unless you lose them the airport security because you forgot to take it out of your carry-on 😢 or leave it in the elements to rust solid, that tool will last you the rest of your life. They are extremely well-built! One of the few things that still are.
A typical day of pure metal detecting with mostly average finds. Both the Leatherman and 3 cent coin are keepers: it's a hard choice. Good video, Brad.
The decorative silver piece(like button, but no shank) is likely a bead that slid on a chain as a necklace or bracelet.
The knife is the best find
I've bought plenty of leatherman's. But I'd much rather have the trime .
Sweet Leatherman find!
found a leatherman exactly like that a long time ago when I went fishing in this pretty remote spot. Still got it in my bag. Thanks for this one Brad, love all your content, but these classic videos are just the best to me.
What a nice walk in the countryside. ☺ Some good finds some not so much. But what a way to spend the day!
Good morning from Copperhill Tn. 😊
My go to guy on Friday. Fun finds!! Thanks Brad💚💙✨
Epic find. I have a surge for at least 10-12 years. Love it. The round pulley looks like a wheel to an old toy metal truck or car.
Wow. It seems like you expect to find something awesome every time . Everything you found today was an amazing piece of history and definitely worth saving
I’ll take the coin. I got a
leatherman! I enjoy your videos! You’re the first channel I ever subscribed to , way back when! Thanks for the fun!
The old house my brother's and I grew up in New Hampshire had window weights and pulleys. It was built in 1880. The windows were all single pane glass. You can imagine we broke just a few while rough housing and throwing stuff around the house when we weren't supposed to.
The thing you thought was a button might be a furniture tac! The trime is a great find! Keep on digging!✌️😊
Love all the finds Brad. Congrats on the Trime and the Leatherman. I have to say the Trime since it's still on my Bucket List. Take Care Brad
I’d say the trime is the find of the day. You can always buy a leatherman, they don’t make 3 cent pieces anymore.
Growing up my Dad would often find those old window weights and we used them as boat anchors. We would tie three of them together in a cluster to the end of an anchor rope. They always worked great.
I did the same for my rowboat as a teen.
The item at 7:00 looks like the end of a hat pin.
i thought so too. because of that one hole on it.
the Leatherman is a cool find, but the time is the find of the day. great content.
Fantastic channel, thr green mountains in Vermont are beautiful.
3 cent piece for sure. Thanks Brad for the video
Another great adventure, thanks! Pretty cool finding a trime way up there- I've been at this since 1991 and have yet to find one. The Leatherman was a nice little bonus!!
WOW! Love the little coin😮❤🎉
Always so enjoy your informative videos
Good to see you back!
great stuff thanks
Hell yeah! Keep dropping dole vids man. Stay safe 🐥👍🏼
That is one of the best Leatherman going. Love mine, good find, use it with confidence!
Awesome hunt thank you so very much for sharing 👍👍❤️
I bet the decorative circular item, hung from a necklace. My Grandma had an old necklace with something similar. I am glad you got a silver coin and a leather man!
Enjoyed, as usual, particularly because I have often lost umbrellas in our Wellington (NZ) wind😀
Really like the slider animation at the top of the screen and little animation where the reaction occurs. Good one.
Beautiful photography!
Trime in a heartbeat Brad!!
Brad,
The windows in our late 19th century farmhouse had sash weights which allowed the windows to
open up or down and remain in that position.
They were boxed in on both sides of the windows with the pull off the top.
IN hot weather we could open the top pane down and the bottom pane up for cross ventilation
Cheers,
Rik
Great finds for a slow day
Congrats Brad Ty again for sharing always great video to watch
Fun finds!
Leatherman for the win today. I've been carrying a Leatherman since beginning. I don't feel dressed without one now.
I have a leatherman, two actually, so the three cent coin is tops for me. Any silver coin, especially one that old is very cool. Thanks for another fantastic adventure Brad. Keep up the good work.
Brad the coin would be my favorite find . Blessings
Nice adventure, Brad. Keep digging those'70s signals. I found a fantastic 1812 officer's button one day after about 40 shotgun shells.
We have found military buttons and small silver coins, but never a Leatherman Surge! I have a Leatherman Surge but I had to pay the $150 for it LOL, if I found one of those it would definitely be my find of the day!!! Another awesome video Brad, very productive "Slow" day! Keep up the great work and good luck on the next adventure! From Jim and Mason🙂
A brilliant and passionate video adventure every week. Great job Brad!
As a coin collector, I would choose the trime all day! Great hunt Brad!
I heard the US post office were the primary traders of three cent pieces during the short time a stamp was three cents, hence the small number minted.
The trime is the find of the day!
Great find on the Leatherman. Amd the trime
The pulley reminds me of the old radios. Yes a string was looped around it once and another pulley on the opposite side of the AM FM window to move an arrow to the corresponding number of the station being received. Just a hunch
I think the trime is the star find. Love you videos. I look forward to friday videos from you. Also thank you so much for giving me ideas of what some of my finds are when I send you pictures. I also love the nature aspect
Great content as always, i watch from France, in the train that brings me back from work, have pleasure to watch, thanks!
So many comments before mine someone is bound to have told you the pretty non button is the decorative end off a ladies hat pin. You can see the hole on the edge where the shaft of the pin has rusted or snapped off. I'm a collector of sorts and that era made a lot of very pretty pins😊
Thankyou for your trime.
You're a good old educated American dude thanks!
Great vid. As per usual.
I have to say the trime was the coolest find that day, well worth wet feet in May!
I say it's tie!!
Love your site😊
Loved this episode and the coin was my favorite to see.
Earring? LOVE this channel, many thanks Brad!
Trime every time! well done Brad.
Good video, glad to see you out there looking .....that little thing you found.Did it.Have a whole in that button looking fine of your.
Solid hunt in my book!
I’d rather find the trime any day😃 always enjoy your videos!
Definitely the trime!!!
👍👍👍
Someone cried about that Leatherman. All good finds! 👍🏼LL
The Trime all day long..awesome find.
You found my leatherman!! (I've never been to Vermont). I did lose that exact model 2 years ago and I'm still heartbroken. Until today I'd never heard of a Trine coin. Cool. That wierd bobble/buttony thing ... maybe it used to be more round or oval and got mushed. If so, maybe it was a decorative bauble that would hang off of a curtain tie or some such? Curious.
Finding a trime is just amazing but the leather men tool is pretty darn cool also.
It's not a boring day to us Brad! You scored big with that three pence and that letterman wow!!
I remember having to replace the cords on the windows in one of the places l lived. Sure made a huge difference in opening and closing those windows!😊
I am looking for a Leatherman, especially one like the one you found, but I definitely would take the 3 cent coin. A beautiful piece of history!
7:07 hatpin minus the pin. 9:00 to small for window weight. Pulley for grandfather clock weight.Cool digs !
First time in my life I have ever heard of a Trime. Interesting!
The Trime is the find of the day. You won't get a trime in your change any day soon, the leatherman is still on the market.
I would love to find a trime!!!!! God Bless Us All!!!
