I was there.......I remember thinking during the solo.....this is the best musical moment of my life.......shivers,......amazing .......perhaps THE greatest live moment of my life.
I truthfully didn't want it to end. Holy shitsnacks, I'm a little hairy, but I just found out I still don't have enough hair to stand up for that damn solo.
Blueskiddo it was incredible. Unfortunately the lady in front of me was spastically dancing during the whole song and solo. John's playing did not disappoint though!
I have long secretly wanted that to happen, the closest I might get to it is that old live version of money for nothing that he did a while back. I am totally with you on that, if it could be something like this would just be an incredible moment. Much prefered over clapton no offence to any fans of his.
I was there on second night, this for me was the highlight of the show,an amazing solo. Think this is from first night, but an amazing recording, thank you for posting this Atomicampo.
Steve Sett thanks Steve I'm probably wrong but other posts from Atomicampo seem to be songs that were not on second night but maybe he/she/was there both nights, great gigs though.:)
@@briancarpenter3081 hey, I'm 23 and just discovered David Gilmoure a few days ago. I listened to his guitar solos but didn't find them as melodious as john's. Can you suggest me some good solos od david gilmoure?
Gilmore and Clapton are almost retired, Gary Moore Prince and now EVH are gone, Slash has nothing new to say,, The crown rightly goes to the wonderful John Mayer,, guitar for the guitars sake alone is not enough,, you have to paint a worthy backdrop to present it,, in other words write a great song first! any doubters check out this solo,,, one of the best I have heard for years,, super tasty, superb!!!
He is in the O2 arena man. He's got a couple of Dumble amps Six string slingers I think they are named like that. And they are cranked up dude! That's why the sustain is eternal. People will argue about what Im gonna say but after playing professionally for a few years you get to understand at some point that "world class" or legendary tone is impossible to reach at a low volume. But that's only my experience! Anyways Cheers brotha!
@@eduardocarrizo9307 That sustain is what really stood out to me too. Really crisp and quite clean tone but with insane sustain. Would love to get that through my little amp at home but I'm guessing that's not happening! ;)
people that refuse to accept john mayer as one of the best guitar players alive would have probably been the same people to witness jesus do all his miracles and still refuse to accept that he was the son of god. 😂😂😂

atomicampao Yeah i know, i was in one of the "Born And Raised" shows and he was singing well. Maybe it was only this night, it isn't like that on other videos. Mayer all the way 🙋
I've lost track of how many times I've watched this. One of the best solos ever

Is there a soundboard official recording?
Same, I was there too and I don’t think it will ever be beaten. I remember watching and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It’s perfect 👍
@@scottwells6801 well said Scott. Saw him in Dublin after and it wasn’t near as good a gig, sadly.
This solo rivals the greatest of all time.
Wait a minute ahahahah
As a guitar player, I agree. He is phenomenal.
This performance is legendary level... my god
Damm, that final solo is beautiful!!!!!
I was luckily there and I keep coming back to this, feeling that 50 years from now this solo will be deemed a classic.
one of the most deep and fresh JM solos ever!
I didnt care for this song till I heard this. What a completely incredibly moving performance!
gary johnson the short but sweet solo at the end of the studio tack I what made me fall in love with this track, and this just fermented my opinion.
5:33 This shit give me goosebumps everytime
That's why I keep coming back.
Its rare to hear a guitar cry like that. It stopped being an instrument on that moment.
I wonder if John realized after the song finished that he just played the best solo he had ever played or will ever play in his entire life.
OMG, the solo at the end shots you to infinity...
When he did a show in Thailand, I was so surprised that Changing has the best outro solo, even better than Slow Dancing or Gravity imo
Thank you for sharing! this solo is mind-blowing.
I truthfully didn't want it to end. Holy shitsnacks, I'm a little hairy, but I just found out I still don't have enough hair to stand up for that damn solo.
Blueskiddo just saw him do it in person. Even better haha
CJ I don't doubt that. Must have been 10x more spine chilling. Jesus, this guy.
Blueskiddo it was incredible. Unfortunately the lady in front of me was spastically dancing during the whole song and solo. John's playing did not disappoint though!
Still mind-blown by this solo. I swear I’m back here at least every week.
This solo is why John is the best. Hits your head, heart and soul all at the same time. Only he can do this.
What a solo folks...damn. But wait wait wait, is that pino rocking at the back?!
MrAlex327 YES BABY THATS MEANO PINO HIMSELF!

OMG, I don't want to study anymore, just feel like closing my eyes and spend the whole day . ..
For the first time I'm seeing JM like a magician, performing insane slight of hand with every bend and blazing fast bend.
I just bawled my eyes out at that outro solo
he was definitely inspired that night. damn! what a fucking amazing solo!!!
chills! i did not see that coming. blown away. ty so much for sharing!
Thanks for this! I was there and it gave me chills!!
Love your work on Instagram! Keep it up! John Mayer rocks!!
John’s solo from 3:36 - 4:37 will always be a ‘Top 10 John Solo’ for me
Adoro John Mayer music !!!
John Mayer Trio even more.
Love this solo so much
My daughter Ellie took me here for a surprise birthday gift, what a great day 😊
I would be great to see him playing with Mark Knopfler
Mac J would be great af!Knopfler as Jeremiah Dixon and John as Charlie Mason

I think this song is an hidden PINK FLOYD tribute!
I literally was just thinking much David Gilmour you could hear in his playing. Stunning.
Yes! First time i heard all i could think of was how Gilmour-ish the solo and the solo progression is...one of my favorites for sure

Outstanding
How is he real?
Feeling some Gilmour in this solo
Definitely feeling some Gilmour here. What a solo!
wow. just, WOW
Digging the Pink Floyd Vibe....
JM is a musical genious
omg fml 🔥🔥🔥
That sustain is amazing. Yet, there is only a low gain drive. How does he do it?
I bet that PRS helps. Plus...he’s John. 🤷🏻♂️

Qual é o captador do braço dele??
Anyone have any idea what chord voicings the keyboard is playing in the extended instrumental at the end?
I think Em and Dm and he is soloing over C major/A minor
Anyone know the backing chords to the outro?
I was wondering the same thing. Did you find out?
I'm trying to find that out as well!
I think Em and Dm in the beginning, but I am figuring out if that changes later, but I don't think so.
That silversky is gonna sell like hot buttter

First sing a song and then tell a story!
Now let's be honest here, his voice is awful, he wasn't a bad singer, idk what Happened.
Hew was diagnosed with a granuloma in his throat back in 2011. He had an operation to remove it but it negatively affected his voice. I am actually quite happy that his voice is starting to come back.
atomicampao Yeah i know, i was in one of the "Born And Raised" shows and he was singing well. Maybe it was only this night, it isn't like that on other videos.
Mayer all the way 🙋
Rafael Schmoeler Yeah some songs he's been singing better than others. The continuum songs sound great.
I like his voice now better than ever. Everyone has an opinion.
You don't know what happened yet you are aware he had vocal cord surgery?
