GCLR at the BGRA - A Day Excursion

Welcome to Episode 3 of the GCLR visiting the Butterley Garden Railway Association.(BGRA) We are delighted to now be part of that association, and members have created a wonderful railway.
The theme for this video is based on a Day Excursion (railway people will know them as an ADEX). The summer stock hauled by The Beast takes the train over, and is joined by “Allan” and "Bulldog" who were taken over on a special train a few days before the excursion.
We see a short ballast train being run with Bert on his bulldog is in charge of that, and Bert cant keep away! while the excursion train takes a trip round the railway, Allan is prepared in the sidings and then takes over the train.
This was a opportunity to learn and gain that confidence to drive Allan, and what an absolute joy it was to see and hear him running round, and coped well with the curvature and inclines along the line, which helps so much with the confidence of the cameraman, but also read learning too!
The excursion was also run to meet the glorious locomotives belonging to Joe, who runs the Wessex and Mercia Light Railway, we have put a link to that railway below, do go and take a look, its a wonderful railway. The locomotive names reflect the Kingdom of Mercia.
Two further locos came to visit us too, and were hauling coaches that reminded me of the rather nice Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway in Switzerland.
A really splendid day, lots of experience and confidence was gained, which will now open doors to new adventures.
