This was so helpful for someone like me who's just recently learned about the game and has no idea what they're doing haha. Excited to check out some other videos of yours. Shout out from a fellow Portlander! :D
Stumbled on this video today. Great information. I am going to be buying into this game. Arcane Rising looks like a cool set and I really am into the Heroes in that particular set. I'll pick up Welcome to Rathe afterwards.
Cheers! The video is pretty outdated but a lot of my suggestions apply to Unlimited now! I plan on making an updated version of this later this year after Monarch launches. Welcome to Flesh and Blood! It's such an excellent game :)
I had the same experience with my LGS. I asked them to carry it. They said “what’s that?” . I explained it. They said they might think about it in the future. Oh well.
Thx for this video, the game actually releases here in germany these days and we are all new to it. I was about to get only CoW also becouse its the only first edition we goin to get but also goin to grabe a Rathe one. Ty again im exited for more content.
You're welcome! I've really stoked that Germany and other places (Canada for example) are finally getting Flesh and Blood! It's awesome that more people finally get to play this excellent game!
I love the game, and as i say before I'll probably get the Dorinthea deck and some booster boxes in the future and the good news is that they are selling it here in TJ soon . As always excellent video 😁
how about in 2021...when the "Free" deck is 60ish bucks on the market :( finally found a semi local game store (40min drive) bought some boxes...building decks...and now I HAVE to teach others to play
Crucible of War is a sweet supplementary set! Definitely recommend the WTR and ARC if you're just starting (or any of the other suggestions in the vid) but Crucible is an excellent next step after. I'll be picking up a couple more just to have for my sealed collection.
Great video man! Very informative. I like the recommended store list, Realer game store for sure is great for sealed product. Bill does a great job over there.
I've chatted a bit with the owner on Facebook and he's an incredibly nice fellow. I'd buy a lot more from them if it weren't for the international shipping
The fact that a lot of people are keeping multiples of the Ira welcome decks for speculation is why so many people that want them can't find them. It's keeping people out of the game that might be slightly interested but don't want to invest before trying. It's a shame
There should be a much newer and less collectible version in circulation that store should have or be getting soon. Also Monarch is only a few weeks away and with it comes new starter decks that I hope are VERY widely available as they'll be the single best way to start playing :)
It's only paper for the most part - it's called Flesh and Blood partially because they want it to be played...in the flesh and blood haha There IS a Tabletop Simulator mod for it though! (I vastly prefer to play paper tho)
@@RedZoneRogue same here and cant wait to play an actual game of it. Just posted my first video of me opening a oath of blood box and got a god pack, didnt even know that game had those haha.
if im most interested in Kano and Dash, does it make sense to get only arcane rising boxes? or do i need stuff from welcome to rathe and crucible of war aswell?
It's gonna be like 90% Arcane Rising. There's some excellent cards in WTR that are worth it but they are very rare and the chances of pulling them in a box are so slim that you might as well just buy singles. Crucible of War has really good support for every class so it's worth it - maybe just as singles though if you don't care about anything else in the set
@@RedZoneRogue thanks for the answer! how many boxes is a good amount? i know that legendaries are pretty rare, but what about heroes? do i have to get lucky and just and pull kano, dracai of aether?
Crucible would be a definate add to arcane rising for you. Wizard got really amped up from crucible as did mechanologist. I suggest getting singles after getting a box or tw of each.
Currently the only Shapeshifter is Shiyana and she's mostly just a multiplayer hero...shes also one of the most expensive and rare cards right now. Singles would be the best way to go
I really want to pick up a card game again. I miss getting into Yugioh and Naruto and Magic. Problem is, it's basically taboo to play anything but Magic where I live. Even if I found cards and started collecting and building decks, no one would play. It's super discouraging. Oh well. I always have Legends of Runeterra.
I kinda wish the game had more heroes to play as starting off. Like, 2 options each. I'd love to play Ira but blitz doesn't really appeal to me as a game mode. I also don't find Katsu as appealing in terms of character design.
So where should someone start now? Seems like a lot of changes have happened, one kind of rarity no longer exists, first sets are OOP, upcoming set is just add ons, etc
@@RedZoneRogue okay for a person that never played a card game in his life is that the easiest way to play? And can I compete with just a blitz deck against other players that spend a lot of money?
@@plagedh3 it's just the best way to get started and to learn, grab a few blitz decks and learn with a friend. They are definitely not top tier competitive viable.
@@RedZoneRogue learned a lot about FaB from your channel and I'm really excited to play with some blitz decks with the boys. And then metazoo looks very fun to collect and build and play
Hey dude! I'll be giving away a couple decks for my 4k sub celebration...I'll also be making a video showing how new players can get their hands on some "starter decks' that are custom made by some FAB stores like FAB Foundry for really good prices :)
It's because they're out of print and very rare. The new Monarch Blitz decks are only $12-$15 each, I have a newer vid opening and reviewing those too 😁
New starter decks are launching with Monarch on April 30th with a MSRP of $12. I've also recently made a video pointing folks to a few areas where they can pick up custom made starter decks on the cheap as well. The empty boxes are simply for the channel background display, kind of as a reminder of where we've been and where we're going - though 1st Ed and Alpha empty boxes are absurdly expensive on the secondary market haha
@@RedZoneRogue I am excited for Monarch! I just chose a really bad time to get into the game, my local scene hasn't picked up on it yet...but they will!
@@RedZoneRogue Thanks for informing me. I'll check it out. Before that I'll check my local Walmart to see if they have any FAB Welcome Decks. If not, I'll buy the Welcome Decks online off of ebay or something. Are the games separate between noob, intermediate, expert or something like that, or can anyone play anyone?
@@NaNa_W4NT5_F3MNM5 So LSS doesn't sell to big box stores like Walmart but there's a bunch of solid places you can get them online. I highly recommend the new Monarch Blitz decks and several online stores (like Forge and Fire Gaming) have them for MSRP. You'll likely see some for scalped prices but I don't recommend buying those. Anyone can play anyone and it's good to learn VS another person playing a starter deck too :)
Watching this with hindsight is painful lol. Getting into FaB with Monarch Blitz decks, I want the Welcome to Rathe Blitz Decks too for the collection. They're brutally expensive now.
"They will only go up".....way to early in this games life cycle to make claims like that. This game could be dead in a year. I really enjoy flesh and blood but nobody should be investing in this game yet.
For investing it's all speculation really - a complete gamble on a new game based on what you know. Some of those who were able to get Alpha/1st Edition product cheaper before the insane spikes that have already happened may either end up VERY well off - or lose everything if the game dies (which I think is technically possible but VERY unlikely - especially after listening to multiple interviews with James White, the game's creator). Those who waited may be priced-out by that point if it does continue to succeed. Personally, I'm not an investor but I know there are TONS of people who see this as the next MTG, capitalizing on that FOMO that they have from missing out on early MTG. There's already a VERY active finance group on discord and Facebook.
@@RedZoneRogue I still think it is a very risky gamble at the current price of Sealed product. Picking up boxes at 77 for alpha print was possible even 6 months ago. I honestly think it is irresponsible to claim prices will continue to rise or that this game will stand the test of time. I hope it does.
