I admire RT, and Burnie for initiating this vlog series, for uploading this for the fans coming from outside of Austin/Texas for RTX, it gives insight as to what Austin has to offer, and if you enjoyed your visit, a little intro course to what Texas has to offer.

Definitely, can't tell you how many times I've felt so full I thought I wouldn't eat another bite. Then I wind up eating like 2 pieces of pie and a slice of cheesecake or something. Dessert stomach is definitely a thing

It is actually scientifically a thing. The sugar in dessert makes your stomach expand, therefore creating room for itself.

Can confirm, Cheese or Margherita Pizza is an interchangeable term here in the UK.

Maybe so, but the restaurant clearly says "NY style Pizza", thus you must adhere to New York standards, which clearly separate plain/cheese pizza from margherita pizza.
So cheese pizza will come with tomato and basil? And how do you get just cheese on pizza? lol
then the whole UK is factually incorrect about pizza. this is beyond a cultural or linguistic difference, it's just wrong.

In Delaware, we bbq everything in all kinds of sttles. We honestly don't care because bbq is bbq to us
a BBQ is different from grilling. Grilling is throwing food on the grill and fast cooking it. BBQ is smoking the food slow and with wood chips.
I'm from Oregon and we do the same thing.
This video just makes me happy. Hungry, but happy. The Burnie vlogs are some of, if not, my favorite videos ever done on Rooster Teeth. And this one is near the top. I'm watching this Dec 31st 2020, and it makes just as happy to watch it now as it did back then. Just thank you.

According to Rhett and Link, there's actually always room for dessert. Something about sugar tells your stomach to expand and make room for it.

I remember my friend and I were in Austin for RTX the day this came out. We never had a chance to try these place but it was still a great trip filled with good memories. RIP RT ❤

this is just accentuating the visceral pain i feel remembering how long i've lived in austin oblivious of RT, and how many times in my life i could've unknowingly passed them in my daily life and missed an opportunity to meet my future favorite youtubers.
So like, where should I eat when in Austin?

Any of these places are top. burgers at Casino El Camino are solid even though the bar is pretty rough. But literally any one of the places they visited in this video are great.
Aivan Bolambao Joe's Mexican food and Bakery, Hopdoddys, Hut's hamburgers, literally any BBQ place(Franklin's, La BBQ, and miklwaits preferred), Ramen Tatsuya, Amy's Ice Cream
I love those clouds during the time lapses, with the dual layers and the lowers ones moving more noticeably faster than those above...always loved that sight.
So know you know what places in Austin will have the longest lines at RTX!
As a native Austinite of 23 years I can attest to all these places. they are all so perfect and delicious. Plus there are many restaurants with the same kinds of foods but different twists. you can never go wrong.

Jon leaving is the most heart breaking part of the video but when you got responsibilities you gotta follow through with them
Fun fact: The stomach relaxes to create more space when you ingest sweet, calorie rich food.

I saw this on your Instagram live yesterday and the fact that it's out and edited beautifully today is astounding. You can really see that Burnie puts the effort in to make us happy and I'm extremely grateful, you helped me not be so sad after leaving my sports team at the end of the season. I live in north Texas right now for school, but I'm from Austin, and I have to say I was shocked they didn't pick a Thai restaurant or an Indian food restaurant. Austin has great places, and you can't get them anywhere else in Texas
I don't think they could possibly add anymore restaurants without getting really sick.

Why would that assumption be made? The purpose of RTX is to meet and interact with fans, so why would RT staff contradict their own purpose for the convention, and avoid fans?
I meant that RTX attendees will overpack these places making them in all likelyhood inaccessible

In the us there's different types of BBQ Memphis, Texas, Etc etc
Different regions in the US prepare BBQ in different ways.
Vikturus22 he should have been saying part of the country, not part of the world. Also BBQ in America doesn't mean grill like it does in NZ, AUS, etc
There's a difference between BBQ and grilling here. Grilling = hot and fast (burgers, hot dogs, steaks, etc.) BBQ = low and slow with lots of wood smoke (ribs, pulled pork, brisket, etc.)

Could have used some glamour shots and descriptions of the food because watching this didn't really make me want to eat at any of those places. It just looked like a bunch of people getting sick. The other vlog Burnie did where they went to a bunch of BBQ around Austin did a much better job of making me want to eat there. Heck, I'm still craving Austin BBQ from that video and have thought about getting some shipped to me, if it's even possible.
Yeah, that literally had zero production value, but I doubt that was the intent either. Just a cool thing to do for con folk.
You could just google the restaurants that they went to...
And I thought this video was suppossed to be about picking THE place to eat in Austin. I thouht they were going to pick the best place out of all the places they ate at but they never did. If they weren't going to pick between the places, what was the point at eating at every one of them?
This was a very considerate upload. I'm going to be in Austin tomorrow with my family, and we should be choosing at least one restaurant to visit while we stay. This is a great opportunity to help us pick from some delicious looking locales, while simultaneously introducing them to the lovely RT people I keep telling them about.

How? Because where you live, they mean the same thing? Well in Austin, and NY, and most of the US, they don't mean the same thing. And guess what. *Homeslice is in Austin*, not wherever you live. Ellie has been living here long enough to know that by now
John Hackett 100% correct because where ever you are from you'll call it what it is called there for example near all of Europe calls it Margarita and the U.S. calls it cheese. Just because it's called something else doesnt make it incorrect

A+ air shots with the drone throughout the video. RT has been improving so much in editing and filming and production in general much more recently I've noticed, from lets plays to live content. They never dissappoint 🤘

This is the first if his vlogs that I've seen and god is it aesthetically pleasing.
I agree with Babs....secret sweet pocket for dessert..never fails me, especially for ice cream.
I'm so glad (and nostalgic) that I got to go to at least 2 places mentioned here last year. Will definetely try to complete if I ever get to go again.
