Burnie is correct about failure. I have completely failed so many times that I am completely surprised even when I succeed at a little thing, like not coming in last at an online Halo or COD game, or when I actually make a friend.
Failure is so hard to teach other people about. my students are obsessed with trying not to fail so showing them that it is ok to try and fail is really difficult. they would rather not make the attempt.
I love how even when RoosterTeeth knows something is going to be a failure but was promised, they will still release it to keep their word. I know really want to see that drunk read of RvB Season 1 Episode 2.
Technically Burnie wanted to sweep it under the rug, but that was before we knew about it. Miles, to spite Burnie for not listening to him and not holding his promise to make the video before RvB S14 ended, revealed on the RT podcast the whole story. This caused the community to demand the video. Burnie made it the farthest stretch goal on the first week goals to appease us and hopefully have a reason not to release it. Unfortunately for Burnie we reached the goal so he's going to hold true to that promise to the fans.
Alpha0727 have you heard of any new info on it after the first week stretch goal made it? I haven't seen any mention of it being out yet on the site or TH-cam.
Burnie Burns is a genius! These vlogs are amazing. This alone is reason enough to become a first member. Not that you have to because they are released for free on youtube, but to show support. I'm loving every single vlog, and the second I've watched it, I start to wait for the next. This man is a huge inspiration to soo many people, me included. Everything he says and does really show pure dedication. Burnie Burns is 100% real, and it shows. Best regards from Norway Burnie! Keep up the great work you and all the others at Rooster Teeth do every single day.
This is good advice. Everybody tells you 'just follow your dreams!' and 'everything will fall in to place if you just hope it will!' but nobody talks about working hard and failing the first couple times. This is what I like about Burnie, is that he seems to know where the company's success has come from and why it happened. I find these kinds of vlogs intriguing!
Can't deny that this vlog made me feel some feels; especially the Monty moment and seeing you stimulate your son's curiosity/interest in science! Also love the talk about failure. I've had the fear of failure in the past and although I'm pretty good at dealing with it now, talks like these help me stay disciplined on the goals I want to achieve!
This was a really great vlog, glad I clicked on it! I'm currently doing something that has a high chance of failure, and I've been scared of making those jumps to get to the end goal. but this has really helped me to just jump into into it.
These vlogs are the best :). I love the topics that Burnie has been talking about lately. They really are coming out at times in my life when I really need to hear stuff like this. I've been debating applying to this amazing field school for impact cratering studies and I really can't be afraid to just apply for it. If I get it then it's amazing and if I don't, there's always another time. Though my takeaway is that my fear of applying shouldn't keep me out of trying for this amazing experience. Thank you Burnie for your vlogs and your wisdom, they're much appreciated here
I love these vlogs. Just watching these makes me inspired to make my own entertainment company which I'm trying to start this summer. Keep the vlogs going!!
I know you were answering questions Burnie, but I don't have questions or even expectations for you to read this. I just wanted to say thanks for making your vlogs, they're amazingly made.
Holy... Even though I've been there since almost the start, and been following ever since despite not 100% committed, I remember seeing a lot of the different things from back in the day, remembering how Monty, the one time I talked to him before he started at RT, that if I ever wanted to do anything within motion gfx that I should just keep at it (and switch from PaintShopPro XD), that skiil comes with experience. Remembering all of these moments though their lives and how it's touched me by knowing that there are like minded people out there that all share this great community is just... dude. Burnie, I'm sheding tears here man... Thank you
If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L means "First Attempt In Learning." End is not the end, because E.N.D means "Effort Never Dies." If you get no for an answer, just remember that N.O means "Next Opportunity." Nothing's impossible!
Related to the travel delays that are presenting this opportunity for a Q&A, have you been finding the going back and forth between LA and Austin easier or harder than compared to your travel schedule previously (like when you would travel to a farther place but for a longer time) Love your work!!
It's not really a question but I would really like to see you discuss more of your strategies in life.. the motto , be nice and work hard together with your blog about forcing yourself to work were really inspiring to me. I'd really appreciate hearing more about it, sounds like a really good way of becoming prominent in whatever field or anything you're interested in.
I have to agree with The Gauntlet. Wasn't into season 1 and then season 2 came along and I loved it so much. I was literally thinking back about it the other day and it's weird that it came up immediately after. And I'm always confused why it doesn't have that many views. Miles in the halo suit with no one else doing it and the sonic run agggh some of my favourite RT moments on a show.
I've been using the streaks app he talked about in a previous vlog, already showing some progress with writing and keeping up with a workout regimen. I strongly recommend it
Aww, I loved Gauntlet season 1 because it was exactly what it set out to be: a gaming tournament. I really disliked season 2 because it was no longer that.
7:18 I'm the opposite. I have a fear of failure because I HAVE failed a lot of different times. Baseball, school competitions, tae-kwon-do tournaments, film projects in high school, film projects in college...yeah. Lots of failures. Can't really think of many successes, really...at least not one within a decade or so. :(
"It's only a failure until you stop trying." Can't remember if I heard that from somewhere or someone but it's something I always say to myself when I'm feeling down about a specific thing I'm doing and It's something I'll tell my children if I have any.
There was a similar quote in the first episode of season 2 of attack on titan, something along the lines of, "as long as we keep fighting we haven't lost."
Hey Burnie, saw your tweet. I was wondering what qualifications you consider for an entry level position at RT in video production. Are you looking at a degree form a film school? Experience in the field? Both? More? Loved the vlog. Keep the content coming!
Great video about "Failure" because I feel the same way about it. If you do not try then how can you fear failure? So I put my best foot forward and try. If I fail, well then I say F it and learn from it. Move to the next project or situation. Because my plan is to take over as Site Manager at my location for NASA. But I also need a little bit more experience before I make that step.
Freakonomics had a great podcast about quitting and failing and how quitting a project can be necessary for your happiness. idk your blog just reminded me of that episode
I just wish more corporate executives we're like this. Open, sincere, imperfect, simple. Just human and easy to relate to. Or maybe it's that they don't share their lives, at least not over the internet.
when i was i school i was also a cadet and a teacher who helped me in both mostly in English told me "how can you know what success is if you have never experienced failure"
Is the drunk RvB reading gonna be available on TH-cam as well? I don't think I can wait until I have a job to get a First membership and hope I can find it *sobbing*
Do you know of any info about Steven Suptic and his Sugar Pine 7 crew joining Roosterteeth? Any chance they'll be featured in RT content or projects in the near future?!
I could literally spend the rest of my life listening to Burnie talk about stuff.
MiMiLock butts butts butts
Burnie is correct about failure. I have completely failed so many times that I am completely surprised even when I succeed at a little thing, like not coming in last at an online Halo or COD game, or when I actually make a friend.
+Burnie Burns - Such words of wisdom from the founder of Rooster Teeth Productions, Burnie Burns everyone.
Failure is so hard to teach other people about. my students are obsessed with trying not to fail so showing them that it is ok to try and fail is really difficult. they would rather not make the attempt.
Podcast!
Burnie getting choked up talking about Montie was a very real moment. I'm glad he is so open to his audience as well and giving solid life advice.
I love how even when RoosterTeeth knows something is going to be a failure but was promised, they will still release it to keep their word. I know really want to see that drunk read of RvB Season 1 Episode 2.

DoctorWhoGenius Productions
Its hard losing all your sprouts..

Ryan Dando Damn ninjas cutting onions near me..
Those ninjas and their onion cutting! I couldn't handle it.. :(
I know, it hit me hard!
May he live on in RWBY.
Am I the only one who gets a chill when he hears the song coming on at the end? Don't ever change that.
Jean-Charles Miron you love the outro song. Got it.
Nope, I feel the exact same way.
it looks like burnie is about to cry, its ok burnie dont cry
Krumble Ironhide Nooo, it's ok to cry
CRY FOR ME BURNIE
TEARS ARE JUST ANOTHER FORM OF LUBRICATION BURNIE
Burnie don't cry
Burnie cries fire. Then he cries even more because it hurts. It's a perfect circle.
Wow, JD is growing up fast.
Alpha0727 He's in that gangly phase that everyone goes through. Still pretty shocking to see how old he looks.
I'm not familiar, since I haven't followed RT content for long. Who's JD?
viviansytsui that's Burnie's son (:
Oh, awesome! With Ashley? And I heard someone called Teddy mentioned. Is he also?
viviansytsui JD is Burnie's older son and Teddy is the younger son
I feel like I've seen everything in Austin thanks to Burnie's Vlogs
MyW0 You've seen what in me now?
Remember, Burnie: Your home is where people love you.
my computer got aids now. thanks a bunch
But what if someone lives in the streets? Does that mean that everyone outside loves them or that no one loves them?

I like the mirror glasses, lol, not sure why, but I couldn't stop focusing on them as he was walking.
I love blogs where Burnie just chats. It's simple and easy and personal.
i really love burnie vlogs. we don't get to see him enough anymore, so i like these little check-ins. thanks for doing this, burnie!
The moments of nostalgia were amazing, so lovely to hear burnies stories. Especially that one about monty! These vlogs are so great

Burnie I LOVE YOU! You are such an inspiration and you motivate me to reach for my goals more and more with everything you do. Thank you.
I love listening to Burnie talk because he's funny but everything he says makes so much sense and I don't know it just makes me happy
Man I love these vlogs so much, get to see Burnie in a totally different light and it's pretty chill.
I saw those tears burnie. I may have shared them momentarily. ;(
I honestly love Burnie. Even though I will never meet him, he truly is a hero of mine.
These video logs are so fantastic. Keep them coming Burnie!
Burnie has such a passion for everything, its such a wholesome break from everything going on around us!
I love the style of these. Music is awesome. Drone shots are great. Great job Burnie, love it.

I love listening to Burnie talk
Don't have a question, just wanted to say thanks for all you do, and travel safe
😊
I really enjoy your take on more philosophical subjects like motivation & failure. I think more of those in the future would be great.
This was a really great vlog, glad I clicked on it! I'm currently doing something that has a high chance of failure, and I've been scared of making those jumps to get to the end goal. but this has really helped me to just jump into into it.
Keep up the Vlogs Burnie, they're my favorite content from you!

It is said that if you type "Burnie is a legend" early enough, he will reply.
john Pain probably not though
Aw man.
If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L means "First Attempt In Learning." End is not the end, because E.N.D means "Effort Never Dies." If you get no for an answer, just remember that N.O means "Next Opportunity." Nothing's impossible!

That's really awesome that you and your kids like to do experiments.
I love burine vlogs so good😭

When Burnie Talks about Monty doing something funny, smiles into the camera, bright red face... I didn't ask for water to drip down my face man...
Aww, I loved Gauntlet season 1 because it was exactly what it set out to be: a gaming tournament. I really disliked season 2 because it was no longer that.

burns you better be writting a book because your way of thinking and expressing your self is beyond most
I spot Arryn! :D Haven't seen her in ages.
"It's only a failure until you stop trying."

Seeing JD was abrasive, I felt like one of those old people, wanting to say "I remember when you were thiiisss big."
I just wish more corporate executives we're like this. Open, sincere, imperfect, simple. Just human and easy to relate to. Or maybe it's that they don't share their lives, at least not over the internet.
Any chance you'll come to Grand Rapids? Great beer city and I think you'd enjoy some of the sights for drone footage.
I really like the intro and outro music
when i was i school i was also a cadet and a teacher who helped me in both mostly in English told me "how can you know what success is if you have never experienced failure"
Can't wait for that red vs blue read off
Burnie's a great dad.
I can't wait for drunk rvb it looks hilarious
