Oh gosh this song makes me feel so nostalgic 🍂Bob Dylan had so many hits and took us all through some of the darkest times. A true legend. Thanks so much guys for reacting to this great legend🧡
Bob "Robert Zimmerman" Dylan has a HUGE catalog, he is the greatest songwriter of the generation of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. From "The Times They Are A Changin' ", "Subterannean Homesick Blues", "My Back Pages", "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35", "Like A Rolling Stone", "Visions Of Johanna", "Serve Somebody", "Leopardskin Pillbox Hat" to "Hurricane" it is nonstop musical genius on display.
Great comment. I can see your a Huge Bob fan as well am I. It amazes me more of these reactors don't do more Bob. The best Reactor for Bob is Cmdy, African Lady but she has done So many reactions to Bob. She's Great. Peace. 🥴🤔👍✌️💯
Love this song. I printed the lyrics, framed them, hung them on my daughter's wall when she was just a child. She now has all of the attributes described in the song. This month she graduated with a Master's in Science degree from a major college. One overlooked line is 'May you always do for others, and let others do for you' Some of us have difficulty letting people help us.
I used to sing this to my boys when they were babies. Brings a smile to my face and a fluttering to my heart when I'm reminded of those years. Thank you for reminding me.
You need to check out the live version of Dylan and The Band doing this song. You will get so much more out of it. Staying forever young is a mental thing, NOT a physical thing. You can't stop time or GO BACK, but you can keep that young energy live in your mind. What a combination; youthful thoughts AND wisdom.
When this song comes up when my son is with me, he gives me crap for crying. 😂 he hasn’t figured out that it’s because this song reminds me how much I love him.
So true what you were saying. Live every day to the fullest and take time to smile and wish others a good morning hold a door for others. It take a second just to be kind to others .everyone enjoy day
Eight years ago my daughter and her husband made me so proud when they decorated a room for my first grandchild. A sweet baby girl we cherished then and now (along with 4 other grandkids we have) as she grows older. The colors and furnishings were done as many are; children’s books lined the walls. But hanging on the wall above her crib was a scroll with beautiful penmanship displaying the lyrics for “Forever Young.” I know you know. I’m blessed to know too. This reaction was beautifully done. Thank you both. #foreveryoung
The following songs are a few of his overlooked gems: Brownsville Girl, Dark Eyes, Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie, and Where Are You Tonight? (Journey Through Dark Heat).
I've always loved this song. The lyrics tug at my heart. When my sister was pregnant with twins, I had the lyrics engraved on picture frames for her. 💜 I always think about my siblings and their babies whenever I hear this song. My first time getting to see Dylan live was in the parking lot of a brewery, which caught everyone in town by surprise. Before I go to any show, I always ask my friends what is 1 song they want to hear... Forever Young was the 1 song I wanted to hear. Everyone laughed and said that he didn't play it live very often anymore. Dylan played a mammoth set, then played an encore, left the stage, and came back out for a second encore and left again. My friends and I were walking towards our vehicle, about to exit by the stage, and Dylan comes back out for a 3rd encore and plays Forever Young. I'd like to think my friends and I help manifest that moment. LOL! It is one of my favorite concert memories... everyone was so happy and excited. 🤗 Dylan is playing guitar, singing, and playing harmonica. The same set up that you've seen Neil Young play before. Hope that helps give you a visual.
His whole album Blonde On Blonde is one of the greatest albums ever. You guys should check out a song by him that Mike Ness of Social Distortion did called "Don't Think Twice". Dylans version is laid back like a lot of his stuff but Mike's version rocks out. The song was also used in an episode of The Walking Dead.
Great reaction to a great song. And I am 55 years old and the last 20 plus years were like yesterday. They go faster the older you get. It is absolutely right. Greetings from Norway. 😀
Y’all should check out Hurricane by bob dylan. He was a Huge defender for civil rights before most ppl joined in. Idk if u know who hurricane was but the song tells the whole story & he wrote it so ppl would know the injustice
Beautuful🤘❤️i sent this vid to my 4 grandkids a few years ago. Maybe you guys notice that the band behind dylan, is THE BAND that went on to put out a lot of hits including one of your favorite. The weight featuring the staples. Lol the BAND do have a few songs with the acordian
absolutely ♥ this song! SO many Dylan suggestions: Tangled Up In Blue, Visions of Johanna, Shelter From The Storm, Things Have Changed, Hurricane & Positively 4th St I also encourage you to stick to the studio versions! Alas his live versions aren't always the best sound wise
Bob Dylan for me, is one of those artists that has gotten better and message more impactful as I've "matured". Dylan as he's gotten older is hit or miss with his vocal delivery but he is a very clear example (like Tom Waits) who's impact is not so much in the delivery but in the words he's imparting upon us and the vocals are a bit harsh but sometimes it's not the polish of the delivery - it's the gravel of age & experience that pushes a song over the top...(shrugs) i dunno....
I recommend watching 92 year old Pete Seeger's version of Forever Young recorded for Amnesty International's Dylan tribute album Chimes of Freedom. Very touching. Available on youtube.
Thank you! I was looking for a cover of the song when I requested this, because so many people don't like his voice and I thought it would be received a little better. However, every cover I listened to didn't have the same soul to it. I just checked out Pete Seger's version, and I love the composition of it!
Yes, Stewart wrote his song with the same title. He says he didn't consciously borrow from Dylan's song, but when the similarity was pointed out to him, they contacted Dylan and agreed to share writing credits and royalties on Rod's song.
Maybe by birth, but he'll always be know for breaking in Greenwich Village. Same as Hendrix is known for breaking in London, rather than Seattle. Be happy with Prince.
BJ, you completely missed the whole point of the song. You said that we all want to stay forever young "even though it's not possible.". Of course it's possible! You can stay young no matter how old your body gets. Listen to the song again... or read the lyrics. And may you and Asia stay Forever Young! 🙂
Rod Stewart didn't cover this song, he wrote his own with different lyrics and a different melody. After he wrote it and recorded it, it was pointed out to him that it was very similar to Dylan's song of the same name.. Before releasing it he and his manager called Dylan and they ended up splitting the royalties and writing credit. Even though the words and music were different, there were some strong similarities in the theme, the lyrical framework and the refrain. Stewart said he didn't consciously borrow from the Dylan song, which is entirely possible.

Great songwriter, horrible singer( just my personal opinion). Best version of this song I've ever heard was an accappella version done by Audra Mae for the TV show Sons of Anarchy...totally mind blowing- her voice.

Bob Dylan will always be remembered for his music but especially for song writing. Legend.

Some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. May you stay forever young, Bob.
His back catalogue is immense. Had a major Dylan phase when I was younger.
Can’t hear this without thinking about my mom. Lost her in 2009 and this song still brings tears to my eyes. I’m still singing your song Mom. ❤
Forever Young (at heart) - such a beautiful wish for anyone. Something I wish for myself without a doubt. ~ peace ~
Great, would like to see you both doing a deep dive on Bob, I think you'd get a lot out of it and end up true Bobcats.

It's in my will for this song to be played at my funeral.

His singing and voice are as important as his lyrics.
Dylan wrote this song for his children, when they were little.

Covered wonderfully by The Pretenders ( Chrissy Hines vocalist) And Rod Stewart

Bob Dylan wrote this song as a tribute to Muhammad Ali. He's a great Boxing fan that's also why He wrote Hurricane, for Rubin Carter.
I thought he wrote this for his first son as a lullaby.
@@scapito nope he wrote it for Ali after he was diagnosed with parkersons
@@rickpetersen1745Dylan released this in 1974. Ali was first diagnosed with Parkison's in 1984.

The thing about Bob Dylan is that people think he's either great, or that he's absolutely terrible. I believe the later.
Not a fan of Bob Dylan's voice...love his songs...Rod Stewart really did this song justice.
Stewart's song is similar in sentiment, but different lyrics and Melody... not the same song.
This is the best song ever
