I studied animation at uni for three years and no 'motion graphics' lesson was ever so informative or easy to follow as this! Thank you so much! Definitely going to check out the rest of your tutorials!
6 Years ago in ran into this video. Had zero experience in After Effects or any design tools. Fast forward to today, I just signed my first contract as an allround Filmmaker and 2D animator. Thanks Evan! 🤙
This is so great! After taking basic classes, I have been self-teaching, and Abrams has the best online tutorials! He is so familiar with the inner workings of the program, and is easy to follow, even though he goes fast. Thanks so much!
Exactly. One of the reasons I love your tutorials is that you don't shy away from mixing it up with supposedly "advanced" features like the Graph Editor. In fact, you taught me that these features needed to become second nature, not feared and avoided. IMO, giving yourself permission to do things "the hard way" is half the battle in motion graphics. The idea that there are always easy answers can quickly become a self-limiting belief, one that a lot of other tutorials perpetuate.
I just realized something....Your voice is so soothing that it helps me sleep. Not as an insult but actually...I want to listen to you just bc of your voice
Hi! Tks for your tutorial! A question: why "create shape from vector layer" for me doesn't work if I select multiple layers or it works by selecting a single layer but I can't see the shape?
Your tutorial is very good, love it, but your voice is so soothing, I almost fell asleep twice while watching, although I care what I see on the screen :D
You should do a tutorial on your creative process for mographics. How do you come up with an idea? Do you usually make stuff with effects you already know how to use or do you experiment and learn something new for projects? Thanks
Thanks for the video! I know how to use trim paths, but I wasn't sure how people plan out the animation for trim paths. This was so helpful! I will share my animation bit when I'm done.
Don't confuse yourself with fills. Phil's a very confusing person. Very clever. Very helpful tutorial too. I've become a better person because after watching this.
This is very exciting and at the same time very complicated tutorial for me to forget even if I practice it more than once (so many steps). I really enjoyed how you explained it though. any suggestions to a newbie in after effects?
I suggest focussing on the basics and understanding the fundamentals. The purpose of the tutorial isn't really the steps, it's the technique those steps make as a whole.
Great tutorial! Definitely learnt a lot here; mostly than planning here definitely makes life easier later on, and working backwards is the way forwards ;D I love seeing how you approach each effect - motion graphics is slowly starting to make sense to me know, thanks EC Abrams!

Glad to hear it! If you have any troubles reach out any time.

Out of every other videos on TH-cam only yours was good. Straight to the topic and no bullshit.
I love the way you say certain words like "out"... Canadian voices get me every time.
Thanks for the tutorial.
I feel intimidated by the difficulty of your tutorials !
Everyone is new to something once. Even me.
you're a f*cking professional man! hands down

interesting, what does it create instead? if you twirl into the shape layer what's in the contents?
Hello from Taiwan. :)
Really appreciate your sharing. And I so love your teaching style that has so much fun.
Looks stylish as hell :D
"The power of magic"
I love the way you explain things! You change my bad days :D
You are an amazing commentator... The commentating itself makes the task at hand a lot less intimidating and for a very entertaining video!
Bro it’s very intimidating! I’ve been slacking on it for a month now. The symbols are very confusing. You have to train your mind to
1. Draw any path in Illustrator with pen (don't use fill, stroke only)
2. Open in After Effects, animate using trim path.
а в чем плюс использования Иллюстратора?

Thank you ECAbrams! I will try to learn the fundamentals first. Could you recommend a book or a resource for that please?
