Just reading your post Rio. I hope things are better for you today. Brillant song this from Bowie. Music has a way of bringing our emotions out and has a way taking us to a time of when things were special in our life. Be strong tho it's not easy. But, we will all meet again one day after we have departed this life. For sure!!!
What an amazing song. Those lyrics cut deep like surgeons, you really feel what he's saying about being naive and not knowing what the proper next step is. David Bowie's music was a transcending element of beauty, art, feelings and pure balls that no singer has today!!!!!
"AS LONG AS WE ARE TOGETHER AND THE REST CAN GO TO HELL." One of the most romantic yet rebellious lyrics of all. I listened to it since my childhood but never understood the meaning of it. Today I just looked at the words and suddenly I cried.
I'm 53. We share birth date in different years: 1947 and 1966, January 8th. I bought this LP in Málaga ,my hometown, in 1984 and still conserve it. And still I play it in a real vinyl player.
How do you bring back the 80s? The decade wasn't that good anyway - we just romanticise the time when we were young. This, and Bowie in general is great, of course.
Loved it, love it, and still love it! Was 15 when I first listened to it, am 52 now, and David Bowie is very much present in my heart and soul...❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for posting this great song!
@@mwaddo71 hello from Paris ! Glad to hear that someone born in 1971 loved and still loves those now even more beautiful songs and videos! Ever saw him in concert? Love Tina Turner,Elton John and Pink Floyd. Also, best shows in history. Best regards from Paris, France !👍🙏❤️🙏🤩Eternal legacy!
David Bowie!!! What can Ii say~~~ He is the single most powerful influence upon me as a musician. Ii was looking for a single song of his to express my feelings at this time; to my amazement, there were just too, too many among his "21 Albums" in my iTunes!!!! Yet this one: 'Absolute Beginners' is a perfect Torch Song for today. All my Love to you David~~~ It's Absolutely True! "If our love song Could fly over mountains Sail over heartaches Just like the films There's no reason To feel all the hard times To lay down the hard lines It's absolutely true" ~BOWIE 💗💔💓
His voice is so beautiful. I wish I listened to him more when he was alive. Thank God we have his amazing voice forever with us. He looked so happy during this concert. That's what real love does to a person and he had it with his wife and children. May God bless and keep them.
This song is a masterpiece, the strings, keys, sax, David's vocals, the lyrics, top notch 💯. Listen through headphones - bellisimo! 💖 Giving Me Goosebumps!! 🔥❤️💯👏
Love how he smiles so much while singing through this, the love shines through. That bounce of his fist at 2:55 in rhythm also reflect his enthusiasm for this song. Always been one of my personal favorites. Garson always brings so much to the table with his ivory skills. Such a great piece. Leaves me smiling, that's all I really need.
What a band this was.🔥 Garson's piano and Earl Slick's guitar elevate this way beyond the studio version IMO. The more I listen, the more it becomes apparent how great a song this is. In a period where his work was at its most patchy, he comes up with something beautiful and very moving.❤️
My dear little sister wanted this to be played in her funeral. So we listened this on her grave 26.8.23. Rest in peace Kaisu, my lovely, wild and intelligent sister. Nothing compares to you. May God bless you.

The very best.
I've nothing much to offer
There's nothing much to take
I'm an absolute beginner
But I'm absolutely sane
As long as we're together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Could laugh at the ocean
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true
Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can't shake
Oh, we're absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you're still smiling
There's nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We're certain to succeed
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
If there's reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true

Music has a way of bringing our emotions out and has a way taking us to a time of when things were special in our life. Be strong tho it's not easy. But, we will all meet again one day after we have departed this life. For sure!!!
Beautiful words my friend, as long as you still smiling!
This song with the absolute is absolutely incredible, Bowie is a God
What an amazing song. Those lyrics cut deep like surgeons, you really feel what he's saying about being naive and not knowing what the proper next step is. David Bowie's music was a transcending element of beauty, art, feelings and pure balls that no singer has today!!!!!
No one can ever take his place. He is a one-off. And we should be grateful for that. ✌
based on novel of same name by colin mcinness..

Ora è di nuovo nel cosmo.

Still ABSOLUTELY loving this in 2022!!! As long as you're still smiling, that's all I really need!
My baby doll Jason from england sent me this wonderful song. I love you baby.
"AS LONG AS WE ARE TOGETHER AND THE REST CAN GO TO HELL." One of the most romantic yet rebellious lyrics of all.
I listened to it since my childhood but never understood the meaning of it. Today I just looked at the words and suddenly I cried.
THIS PERFORMANCE HAS ME IN TEARS, MISS U BOWIE
This is a wonderful version. I am so happy i discovered it.
I love this song
Послевоенные годы Великобритания дала миру выдающихся. замечательных. непревзойденных певцов.
Простота в одежде. манерах. исполнении просто потрясают.
Ни один голос не спутаешь с другим. Одно наслаждение слушать такую музыку.

Me desculpe, saia desse país e viva em liberdade
breathtaking performance
I'm 52 and this song crried me to work in my car to many textile factories in the 80's.....BRING BACk the 80's
No, life is now ! but I sure did enjoy myself, still do.
Rick Ogden at least you lived the 80s
David Bowie nos dejó, pero seguro que volverá algún día....... mientras seguiremos disfrutando de sus canciones.
The thing about Bowie is that, just when you think he's peaked and can do no better, off he goes again.
Totally fabulous. 😎😊👏👏👏
I really really love this song and this performance.
Nobody remembers the movie "Absolute Beginners" but the theme song will last forever.
Some of us do... ;)
RIP. Great singer. Great voice. Great Bowie. Now sing with the angels. Love you forever.

I love listening Bowie's music ever since I was a kid, always have and always will. I'm 71 now.
Loved it, love it, and still love it! Was 15 when I first listened to it, am 52 now, and David Bowie is very much present in my heart and soul...❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for posting this great song!
Same..❤❤❤❤
@@mwaddo71 hello from Paris !

Bonita Tucker Clark though this version of absolute begginers is better than the one on glastonbury 2000, I own it on vinyl - amazing recording.
agree the best version
I'm agree with you, the best ever
David Bowie!!! What can Ii say~~~ He is the single most powerful influence upon me as a musician. Ii was looking for a single song of his to express my feelings at this time; to my amazement, there were just too, too many among his "21 Albums" in my iTunes!!!! Yet this one: 'Absolute Beginners' is a perfect Torch Song for today. All my Love to you David~~~ It's Absolutely True!
"If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true" ~BOWIE 💗💔💓
One of the best - and absolutely best looking - performers
Love you mate. Just that. Great, unexpected, unfixable lost
How many people were here? 100?200? They were very lucky to enjoy this intimate concerts of >
That’s exactly what I was thinking...and how about his band members? Surrounded by loveliness every time they got together! What experience ❤️
I was there and front row :) 15 years later this song was first dance at my wedding...
I absolutely love you .. RIP David ..
"As long as you still smiling thats all I really need, I absolutely love you" what a man....
The way he looks up at his wife and says ‘I do’ at 4’20’’ is so beautiful ❤

I miss David Bowie! Italian Fan in Italian Summer 2021
The late great David Bowie at the top of his game. What a magnificent live performance!
Perfect.............
Every time I listen to this I'm blown away with emotions. It's magical and his lyrics are timeless.
I lost, the world lost an epic giant. XX
His voice is so beautiful. I wish I listened to him more when he was alive. Thank God we have his amazing voice forever with us. He looked so happy during this concert. That's what real love does to a person and he had it with his wife and children. May God bless and keep them.
What a performance.
Bowie surrounded himself with the best musicians, he demanded perfection and he delivered
This song is a masterpiece, the strings, keys, sax, David's vocals, the lyrics, top notch 💯. Listen through headphones - bellisimo! 💖 Giving Me Goosebumps!! 🔥❤️💯👏
😊❤🎉
I think this whole BBC performance was perfection - the band, the vibe from the audience and Bowie is in perfect voice
I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY!
