I Love how Strange is always the guy , besides Tony of course, who is willing to sacrifice one life for the great or good of the Universe, He knows he can't save everyone always, makes him more Realistic unless the other heroes of MCU... That's why he is one of my favorites.

This Strange literally gets framed as in the wrong for needlessly trying to kill her, and Strange's whole arc in the movie related to having faith in America, yet you think this trolley obsessed mess was in the right? The whole point of those storylines was that one shouldn't go for the easy answer straight away, and that life's solutions are more complicated than what a single person could ever envision.
The fact that this strange was able to conjure his magic to say Chavez even after suffering two blows, one being through his literal heart shows that Strange is one of the strongest characters in Marvel. We can hear his final breath towards the end,
I love how defender strange decides to use elemental spells such as ice and gravity and rocks to battle the monster when he could have just used his sling ring to teleport him and America to the book. That is what I call taking the hard way.

The writer ignored this so he could have his scene. He couldve had a throwaway line and scene where Defender Strange attempts to portal and it fails and he says to America “damnit. The sling ring won’t work here. Run!” But he didn’t do that either. Part of it is because the script was written as they filmed thanks to Covid-19’s outbreak. That may be true, but I'm sure they don't complain about the money they're making from the movies either. There are lots of scenes in each Marvel movie that are much more subtle and showcase how great they are as actors, it just isn't the entire movie. Amazing opening regardless. This "space junction between universes" as they call it, beautiful. Definitely fits the aesthetics you would expect in a Doctor Strange film.
On tje furst point, my guess is that it was taking all of Defender Strange's will and power to contain the demon, so he had nothing left to throw the minster with. Basically, it's like lifting your maximum weight directly over your head: you can't throw it, and any shift by your part could result in you simoly dropping it on yourself. As for the portals, America's are unique and multiversal, which is probably why they worked even inside the junction, plus this is Defender Strange, not our Strange, so maybe he didn't have a Sling Ring, or maybe portal magic isn't even known of in his universe.

Maybe that's why Doctor Strange didn't try to kill America in his timeline: because a part of him knows how Spider-Man sacrificed his identity to save the multiverse after curing the villains.
What I like is that it seems to imply that MCU Strange would've been just as corruptible and sinful as the rest had he not gone through that journey with Spider-Man. The whole movie he's confronting the fact that he's not happy, and he can't help but compare himself to the other Stranges he meets. Doing this he finds out that every other Doctor Strange makes the same mistakes that he did and then actually end up way worse, as if across the multiverse every version of him sucks and he's just doomed to turn into a utilitarian monster. From this he's able to realize that although he's depressed and regretful, he's not as terrible as he thinks that he is and he can make the right decision, even if it's letting someone else save the day. It's as if the reason this is the "best" universe is because it's the one where all of these heroes exist in relationship with one another and help each other grow in the specific way that they do. Strange was able to have his personal growth in this movie because of what he went through in NWH.
A thing I've always been frustrated with when soul-sucking things happen is it's never clear what happens after it's interrupted. Is a certain percentage of her magic gone? Or did it all zip back into her?
I assume it's probably like a rechargable battery, it'll naturally build back up to its maxiumum if it's only partly drained, but if you siphon 100% of the power off you risk doing serious damage.

After a long sequence of running away from the monster to the book of asahntheee or whatever, they are finally in reaching distance to the book, AND, have the monster temporarily prisoned. What does she do? She kinda just... waits for the monster to break free... Some of that qu-a-li-ty writing

Amazing opening regardless. This "space junction between universes" as they call it, beautiful. Definitely fits the aesthetics you would expect in a Doctor Strange film.
On tje furst point, my guess is that it was taking all of Defender Strange's will and power to contain the demon, so he had nothing left to throw the minster with. Basically, it's like lifting your maximum weight directly over your head: you can't throw it, and any shift by your part could result in you simoly dropping it on yourself. As for the portals, America's are unique and multiversal, which is probably why they worked even inside the junction, plus this is Defender Strange, not our Strange, so maybe he didn't have a Sling Ring, or maybe portal magic isn't even known of in his universe.

Maybe that's why Doctor Strange didn't try to kill America in his timeline: because a part of him knows how Spider-Man sacrificed his identity to save the multiverse after curing the villains.
What I like is that it seems to imply that MCU Strange would've been just as corruptible and sinful as the rest had he not gone through that journey with Spider-Man. The whole movie he's confronting the fact that he's not happy, and he can't help but compare himself to the other Stranges he meets. Doing this he finds out that every other Doctor Strange makes the same mistakes that he did and then actually end up way worse, as if across the multiverse every version of him sucks and he's just doomed to turn into a utilitarian monster. From this he's able to realize that although he's depressed and regretful, he's not as terrible as he thinks that he is and he can make the right decision, even if it's letting someone else save the day. It's as if the reason this is the "best" universe is because it's the one where all of these heroes exist in relationship with one another and help each other grow in the specific way that they do. Strange was able to have his personal growth in this movie because of what he went through in NWH.

I assume it's probably like a rechargable battery, it'll naturally build back up to its maxiumum if it's only partly drained, but if you siphon 100% of the power off you risk doing serious damage.

All versions of Doctor strange are powerful and fight for cause, but only Stephen Strange of earth had the real potential and focus for right goal. That made him unique among them all.
People think they nerfed doctor strange, They have no idea how powerful Scarlet witch and doctor strange has became, they are basically (ivory kings beyonders) in MCU, doctor strange or scarlet witch any of them can create incursion using darkhold & they can Kill everyone. not to mention doctor strange already destroyed infinity stones, Odin, Thanos, Thor, captain marvel, iron Man,ghost Rider and surtur almost everyone that exist in different universe. In multiverse of madness christine said to doctor strange that trillion people lost there life
well, marvel did kinda nerf him.
because there were no awesome scenes of him. the whole movie, he was just running/in defending mode.
(gargantos scene was kinda weird, seeing doctor strange with so many new powers, and not everyone, including me, like the weird fight between doctor strange and sinister strange)
even despite him getting 2 solo movies, the best scene of him lies in the movie where he was sharing screen with a billion other heroes (strange vs thanos in infinity war)
@Anagh I mean they didn't nerf him I would say the issue is that they give him too op villains for him like all his opponents are literally Dormammu an inter dimensional being Infinity Gauntlet Thanos with Six Gems and Wanda who mastered her powers and given more by a anicent demon book before the beginng the time lol like it's too much he's has to handle alone

I know he’s supposed to be cast as evil here, but, what *was* he supposed to do? The easy answer is ‘not kill her’, but then the monster gets her powers, And she dies, so what did people want him to do?
After a long sequence of running away from the monster to the book of asahntheee or whatever, they are finally in reaching distance to the book, AND, have the monster temporarily prisoned. What does she do? She kinda just... waits for the monster to break free... Some of that qu-a-li-ty writing

Hardly an A+ story / arc for a titular character. This film would've been the proper time to introduce Clea and get their romance started. It's a sin his WIFE only gets to be in his last film while an ex he never ends up with got 2/3 films, plus 2 What If episodes wasted on her.
Clea and Donna, 2 very important ladies to Strange's character & development got shafted in favor of pushing Olsen & McAdams, whom Raimi and Waldron have hard-ons for.
This film was Wanda's and Christine's more than Strange's.

this was one of the stupidity of the film. same was repeated when a strange with the darkhold got defeated by strange without the darkhold. like that's not possible. darkhold corrupts you and gives you knowledge which is dangerous. you can't just defeat anyone with darkhold that easily w/o even breaking a sweat
