Honestly I’m most shocked about the background on the Wolfcat’s card being a shutterstock photo, it just seems… Off-putting to me that a well-known brand rebuilding a cherished franchise that’s been operating n in the works for quite some time, is using a publicly available stock image. Kinda gives me a sense of carelessness? The fact you can still clearly see the watermark is telling too- I think it would’ve been better if they just made a quick doodle, maybe even patterned. Heck even a plain colored background would feel more authentic than that! Giving me bad vibes..

@@lpsvillas using stock photos is actually pretty common in commercial works. Some examples being the LPS cards, product mock-ups, & video game textures. still think it's funny they somehow used a watermarked image & didn't catch it this far into production 😂😂😂

The advent calendars came over to us just a couple days ago, I really don’t like that I have to say this but I’m REALLY worried about how their quality is gonna turn out based on everything else we’ve seen Also the different versions of codes have melted my brainn 😭❤️

Wave 2 brings up sooooo many questions for me honestly... I really wish we could get more insight into what is actually happening at the factories where these are being produced, because these pets are so strange and inconsistent that I can't help but wonder, yknow? Some of my pets are absurdly squishy, while others are g2 quality. Some have nice paint jobs, others have misprints, smudges or both. Especially with how prevalent eye misprints are with Wave 2, I wonder if they have any quality control at all? I have no idea. I just really, really hope all of this critical feedback makes them take a step back and work on the EXTREMELY OBVIOUS PROBLEMS with these toys, otherwise I really don't know how much longer adult collectors are going to keep giving them second chances.
Exactly!! And man I wish I knew. Even as an ambassador for the brand im still in the dark since we’re really only involved in the marketing side and not the actual creation process. But from speculation I’ve heard, I guess there’s 2 factories producing them and that’s why there’s such a big gap in consistency. When we finally have our next meeting with BasicFun I’ll definitely inquire more🤞
i’m so close to giving up on g7 tbh :( it’s sad because i waited half my life for the return of lps, but it feels like they gdaf about us or the brand 😭
i was able to get the advent callender, and the quality of the panda in it was AWFUL. the absolute worst i've ever seen. ALL of the printing was incredibly grainy, not just the eyes. the quality of the other pets was also not the best for most of them
Hey Cobalt! 💙 So I’m in Australia and series 2 JUST got put on our shelves, I bought a whole bunch of sets and a few blind boxes, and I can very thankfully say that most of them look amazing! I do however have the same situation with that spaniel, but on the new Pomeranian, although it’s just one bubble and very small. A few paint jobs are ever so slightly misplaced and the heads are definitely super squishy but I’m honestly really happy with all my pets! I hope you guys in America can start getting pets that look like mine :’)

ugh i have a total of 4 of the same blindbox pet bc of having to keep rebuying them in order to find one without misprints 😢 im wondering if they overproduced & expected a better turn out? hence all the blindbox pets being reused in collector sets
The pixelated printing is called DIJ and it’s a resin printing method that Mattel has also started using on Barbie faces in recent years. If you go to the Barbie aisle, you’ll see that their faces are all shiny and pixelated unlike the tampograph stamps or the color spray masks they used to use. Us collectors hate it, but it must be cheaper to print the faces on this way instead of the old method. Unfortunately this seems to be becoming more and more common amongst toy brands targeted at kids and it’s not going away. I wonder if the faces on these new LPS are as tough to remove with acetone as the new Barbie face paint is?
For my G7 lps the airbrush and paint job is horrendous which is so disappointing. Living outside of the us is extremely difficult to find the G7 lps and for them being this bad of a quality is a a shame in my opinion. My biggest fear is that basic fun thinks that they are getting profit with the G7 pets just because they are G2 molds and so they don’t need to be worrying about the quality because either way we are buying it but quality is so important I dont want a pet where the eye is not even on the eye mold

I’m so upset about the repeats this early into the series too, like I spent so much money hunting down and getting wave one (still can’t find the wolf and fish pair) but now to get the new ones I have to pay so much… for one pet because so many of them are repeats :(
I have a story on my behalf of one of the wave 2 blind box pets, I got every pet well some that I wanted the most in the right code of the box except for one, I was lucky to get the Wolfcat because she and the Pomeranian are one of the ones I wanted the most, but the Wolfcat was placed in the box meant for the Seagull and she didn't have her fish bone either. I got a packaging problem with an Lps placed in the wrong blind box, it was lucky that it was the wolfcat but getting her without her accessory in the wrong box is making me worried for others getting these blind boxes hoping for the purple cat or the donkey but end up with the package problem I had. Basic Fun you better not be going Mr. Krabs on us, and by that I mean let's just hope they're not starting to be cheap
with all the news about the quality (or lack thereof) with series 2 and some of series one I was so nervous about the winter set I got 😭thankfully though it arrived and everyone actually looks great! nice shiny eyes and not too pixelated paint and everything printed on correctly fdhsfg so at least there's some hope?

I’ve gotten a couple of doubles in Wave 2 but that has more to do with the fact that we got the ones I have at multiple different stores. I have to check but all of my pets looks fine, no misprints! I also got that German shepherd from the display so I definitely need a double so I get the card and accessory!
I got a similar misprint on the series 1 pet pair wolf cat (difference being the other eye was slightly printed too high but not enough to notice unless you were looking) which genuinely upset me to the point of crying. The wolf cat mold has been one of my dream pets since i was little, so the huge burst of excitement that I finally found a wolf cat in stores only for it to be misprinted felt like a big hit. I do think LPS is dropping in quality. Just picking up the series 1 pet pairs, I can tell the quality difference. I got all of the series 1 blind boxes + a few tubes and one playset (with the monkey) between December and January and NONE of them had any noticeable flaws that ruined the pet for me. A few weeks ago, I finally found pet pairs! So, I got the grey wolf dog, the german shepherd and the tiger pet pairs. The grey wolf dog + the fish seemed perfect! The german shepherd's eye looks smudged/blurred around the edges (not "ruined", but definitely a shame). The cat looked perfect. The purple kiwi looked perfect. The tiger had two completely different shades of orange on the head and body. The wolf cat, as i said, had misprinted eyes. The axolotl looked fine minus a dirty smudge on the side of its body. That means THREE out of the four pet pairs I got just recently had AT LEAST one faulty pet. Also got three blind boxes from wave 2, the llama, the purple cat, and the fish. The llama and fish look perfect to me, but the cat's eye is misprinted as the lashes aren't lined up with the rest of the eye (including the mold's eye sculpt + eye print).
I’m so sorry to hear that😭 but ya it’s extremely disappointing when the pet is from a blind box so you have no clue what the pet will look like until after you pay for it
At this point I'm seriously considering just buying fake LPS. Idk if it's worth it if they have squishy heads, misprints and fungal infection in the ears like I literally have a fake LPS that cost me 50 cents and its eyes are printed better than that wolf cat 😭😭😭

I've seen a lot of errors and mistakes with G7, i do hope it'll get better in the future (i love the Jack stauber background music you always choose lol)
My pink wolf cat has the same printing error! Except both eyes are slightly lower, so it just looks like she’s sleepy. Obviously I don’t like the quality control issue but it’s kinda cute in this case haha
In my opinion I think that they should start painting the eyes by hand again.I know it is a lot of work but seeing this happen just makes me sad.I remember when we were all so exited for the new lps to come but this is just disappointing.I really hope to see an improvement in the printing later and hopefully basic fun will fix all of this mess.(including the squishy heads.) :(.
I recently picked up my first two wave 2 sets and there is definitely a quality difference. It took me longer to find one of the sets with well lined up eyes and even then the pets feel dusty and have dirt like smudges on them that I never experienced with any of my wave 1 pets. The paint not being aligned properly also seems to be a much bigger issue than with wave 1. I am hoping they take their time with the rest of wave 2 and future waves going forward as wave 1 was very promising with a few quirks like some grainy eye printing (although that seems to be becoming the normal with play line kids toys) and lack of painted details.
Oh man! My first G7 LPS was the greenish blue shark and he had a popped airbubble on his fin :( luckily it's not that noticeable but you can see the quality drop, guess he wanted to cosplay a dolphin
i've recently picked up the purple panda from wave 1 and it had the same issue as the wolfcat, i really love this panda but eye is so misprinted that it looks like poor guy has a stroke or something, it's pretty sad seeing how all over the place the quality is rn
They cheaped out on the quality as well,which makes them harder to customize, and the fact that the eyelashes are part of the plastic and then paint on,I really miss the old lps so much
My complaint is that if you look at the card for the german shepard, the eyes in the picture aren't how the eyes look on the actual pet. To me, the irl version looks derpy. I'm definitely gonna customise mine to fix that because other than the iris shape being completely different in the picture compared to what we actually got, it's still such a pretty lps
Honestly every lps I got from the first gen7 blind boxes were grainy and not glossy, I never even realized they were making the eyes glossy on the gen7 lps :(
I have been getting Littlest Pet Shops lately and they have been hand painted from Wave 2 they used to be printed but I think they're switching to hand painted:)

I love G7 LPS, especially the new snow leopard, bear, and husky, but it's a shame that the quality is dropping. I'm lucky, given my LPS are perfect or almost perfect condition, but I've seen what other people's LPS look like. I hope Basic Fun ups the quality! As well as giving us more variety in pets. I'd love bees, seahorses, pigs, dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs, bull terriers, angora cats, dragons that AREN'T exclusive and new types of pets as well, like griffons! While I'd also love to see the Main 5 [especially daschunds] come back, I would prefer if they were not blind box pets but instead either two pack or three pack sets, so that people won't buy out all the blind boxes before others can get any [this is already a problem sometimes, but having Main 5 Pets in blind boxes would make it so much worse].
Not to mention on top of the poor quality and paint.. I also HATE the rerelease of like every single wave 1 pet for wave 2 what’s going on with that?? 💀
I think it is to get a people a chance to get a pet they couldn't get in a blind boxs but they could just do a single packet for those 😭 it really irritating

I hope wave 3 will be better but seeing how awful wave 2 has been I highly doubt it. I really wish they would make main 5 pets and step up the quality of the pets. Also, I noticed that there really isn’t much of a selection to choose from with this new generation. All we have is the blind boxes at most stores and then the three pack tube sets and that’s it. Back when generation two was still being sold we had a variety of different things to choose from. They even had the mommy and baby sets and the teensies and the jumbo deco pets. I don’t know it just feels like they’re not putting in any effort into making the new gen fun for people.
Most of my series 2 G7 LPS have misprinted eyes. Some aren’t that bad but like my little yellow bird has half of both of her eyes on her forehead. I’m not pleased with the quality I’ve been getting. 😭🙏

Shutter stock is crazy lol you’d think they could pay for an image or just send somebody to walk through the Joann’s yarn isle for photos
Using shutter stock images is pretty common. The watermark being in there was probably a mistake
The most issue is when the bad quality are in blind boxes you wont know if you will end up with a miss print

I got all of the series 1 blind boxes + a few tubes and one playset (with the monkey) between December and January and NONE of them had any noticeable flaws that ruined the pet for me. A few weeks ago, I finally found pet pairs! So, I got the grey wolf dog, the german shepherd and the tiger pet pairs. The grey wolf dog + the fish seemed perfect! The german shepherd's eye looks smudged/blurred around the edges (not "ruined", but definitely a shame). The cat looked perfect. The purple kiwi looked perfect. The tiger had two completely different shades of orange on the head and body. The wolf cat, as i said, had misprinted eyes. The axolotl looked fine minus a dirty smudge on the side of its body.
That means THREE out of the four pet pairs I got just recently had AT LEAST one faulty pet.
Also got three blind boxes from wave 2, the llama, the purple cat, and the fish. The llama and fish look perfect to me, but the cat's eye is misprinted as the lashes aren't lined up with the rest of the eye (including the mold's eye sculpt + eye print).
I’m so sorry to hear that😭 but ya it’s extremely disappointing when the pet is from a blind box so you have no clue what the pet will look like until after you pay for it

At this point I'm seriously considering just buying fake LPS. Idk if it's worth it if they have squishy heads, misprints and fungal infection in the ears like I literally have a fake LPS that cost me 50 cents and its eyes are printed better than that wolf cat 😭😭😭
Dude what is up with the numbers on the boxes with wave 2😭 i had like 3 lists when trying to find the axolotl, but I think they were wrong because I got the panda :,(

I've seen a lot of errors and mistakes with G7, i do hope it'll get better in the future (i love the Jack stauber background music you always choose lol)
My pink wolf cat has the same printing error! Except both eyes are slightly lower, so it just looks like she’s sleepy. Obviously I don’t like the quality control issue but it’s kinda cute in this case haha

In my opinion I think that they should start painting the eyes by hand again.I know it is a lot of work but seeing this happen just makes me sad.I remember when we were all so exited for the new lps to come but this is just disappointing.I really hope to see an improvement in the printing later and hopefully basic fun will fix all of this mess.(including the squishy heads.) :(.
I recently picked up my first two wave 2 sets and there is definitely a quality difference. It took me longer to find one of the sets with well lined up eyes and even then the pets feel dusty and have dirt like smudges on them that I never experienced with any of my wave 1 pets. The paint not being aligned properly also seems to be a much bigger issue than with wave 1. I am hoping they take their time with the rest of wave 2 and future waves going forward as wave 1 was very promising with a few quirks like some grainy eye printing (although that seems to be becoming the normal with play line kids toys) and lack of painted details.
I absolutely agree. The differences between wave 1 and 2 is honestly a little jarring
Oh man! My first G7 LPS was the greenish blue shark and he had a popped airbubble on his fin :( luckily it's not that noticeable but you can see the quality drop, guess he wanted to cosplay a dolphin

i've recently picked up the purple panda from wave 1 and it had the same issue as the wolfcat, i really love this panda but eye is so misprinted that it looks like poor guy has a stroke or something, it's pretty sad seeing how all over the place the quality is rn

They cheaped out on the quality as well,which makes them harder to customize, and the fact that the eyelashes are part of the plastic and then paint on,I really miss the old lps so much

My complaint is that if you look at the card for the german shepard, the eyes in the picture aren't how the eyes look on the actual pet. To me, the irl version looks derpy. I'm definitely gonna customise mine to fix that because other than the iris shape being completely different in the picture compared to what we actually got, it's still such a pretty lps

Honestly every lps I got from the first gen7 blind boxes were grainy and not glossy, I never even realized they were making the eyes glossy on the gen7 lps :(

I have been getting Littlest Pet Shops lately and they have been hand painted from Wave 2 they used to be printed but I think they're switching to hand painted:)

I love G7 LPS, especially the new snow leopard, bear, and husky, but it's a shame that the quality is dropping. I'm lucky, given my LPS are perfect or almost perfect condition, but I've seen what other people's LPS look like. I hope Basic Fun ups the quality! As well as giving us more variety in pets. I'd love bees, seahorses, pigs, dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs, bull terriers, angora cats, dragons that AREN'T exclusive and new types of pets as well, like griffons! While I'd also love to see the Main 5 [especially daschunds] come back, I would prefer if they were not blind box pets but instead either two pack or three pack sets, so that people won't buy out all the blind boxes before others can get any [this is already a problem sometimes, but having Main 5 Pets in blind boxes would make it so much worse].

I think it is to get a people a chance to get a pet they couldn't get in a blind boxs but they could just do a single packet for those 😭 it really irritating

I hope wave 3 will be better but seeing how awful wave 2 has been I highly doubt it. I really wish they would make main 5 pets and step up the quality of the pets. Also, I noticed that there really isn’t much of a selection to choose from with this new generation. All we have is the blind boxes at most stores and then the three pack tube sets and that’s it. Back when generation two was still being sold we had a variety of different things to choose from. They even had the mommy and baby sets and the teensies and the jumbo deco pets. I don’t know it just feels like they’re not putting in any effort into making the new gen fun for people.
Most of my series 2 G7 LPS have misprinted eyes. Some aren’t that bad but like my little yellow bird has half of both of her eyes on her forehead. I’m not pleased with the quality I’ve been getting. 😭🙏

Some of gen 7 season 2 from Australia are disgusting, worse than some of these. Idk what basic fun is doing but they need to PULL there heads in. these are not cheap and i feel like they are ripping us off. plus it seems to be just the blind bag pets due to buyers not ebing able to see them befor purchasing which is so messed p...
