  • This video will be on a helmet i acquired in fairly rough shape but decided to have restored to what is probably better then the condition it was issued in. The helmet shell is an original 1944 produced from seam swivel bale with the OD7 webbing chinstrap with brass hardware. The liner is a Korean War pattern Westinghouse liner which could have originated in wwii but was assembled or updated in the Korean War. I had these sent off to be restored to use as a helmet given as aid to Canadian soldiers during the last year of the Korean War. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment with any questions, additional information, user experiences, or suggestions for future videos and I will do my best to answer them. As always thanks for watching.

JMurray has always done amazing work. I was able to convert a 80s set up to a Vietnam era USMC setup with all original parts I bought from him.

Now got my hands on a Korean War helmet with original paint and chinstraps. Finally have a helmet to represent my grandfathers service during Korea.

I have a Korean war helmet I'm going to restore as well it is a 1951 dated McCord Heatlot number M 128D. I will remove the remainder of the paint on it then prime it with Red oxide primer use glue to adhere the sand and spray it OD in two coats.

M1s are very interesting. With my sets I can see how they changed from 1941 till the last issue. I also have a Brodie and a 2nd Gen USMC padded lwh. So in a sense I have the entire history of US armored helmets. The Army will issue me my ach soon so will have that for a bit too.

Anyone else have a hard time fitting a Vietnam era type liner? It's almost like the shape of my head won't let it stay on my head without tipping over immediately with moving
