A wonderful Fantastic video capturing the steam in the U.K. as I remembered it from the fifties. One really bright spot is that ALL the Locomotives are clean and at their BEST.
What a lovely treat mesmerizing video alan..a railfan`s dream.i cannot take my eyes of those lovely beauties chugging away nicely..nostalgia at its best
A long day for the engine men! But just as I remember the workings as a GWR fireman 60 years ago. ( but we didn't start the fire or clean out at the end of the day)
A Lovely Compilation you have Made Alan, Some great shots of the Locomotives working hard and the " Windcutter " always put a smile on my face ! seasons greetings Graham
Thank you Graham. it's good to hear from you. I must admit that goods workings of any kind are special to me as I saw so much of it as a boy in West Lancashire. The clanking of loose coupled buffers brings back so many memories. Happy Christmas and 2019, Alan.
Does any other nation have steam engines that make such a revolting squeal when you pull the whistle? I know its not all british engines that sound terrible.
Every scene of the Railways is a paradise for artists and painters!! Such nostalgic and lovely scenes of a time bygone!!
