Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial!
I have a brand new HP Elitebook 850 G1 with Windows 8.1. Due to an incompatibility issue I got "Error: 0xc0000225" and this rebuild bcd trick worked.
Luckily I had made a recovery flash drive on a memory stick. By inserting it, turning on the notebook, and tapping on f9 the LED of the stick flashed for about 2 minutes. Then I could get to the command prompt via Troubleshoot > Advanced options.
All I did was right away type in:bootrec /rebuildbcd
After that I typed in: exit
Then clicked on the top right corner X so the command prompt closed. Now I was back on the light blue screen with and chose the Shut down computer option.
To my very glad surprise my familiar desktop screen appeared in a few seconds!
Cool! Because I had followed some other tutorials but none worked for me.
I'll post a link to this video on the HP forum in a thread I called: "Error code 0xc0000225."

Sir, you are a lifesaver. Your video on booting Windows to USB using WinToFlash, and especially this video helped me a lot. I really thought my old laptop was a goner when it showed 'bootmgr is compressed'. I'm no IT, but following this instructions, I was able to open up my laptop again. I can't express how much I appreciate this video of yours. So THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Keep it up, sir.:)

bootrec commands both are great. Startup still didn't fix it and my system didn't come with a backup disc. I finally got an operating system to show, but forgot to highlight/choose it. It now bypasses and goes directly to Advanced Recovery Options. How can I get this "Choosing Operating System" window up again? This would help tremendously.

Thanks for the nice illustration, just want to ask you, my windows 7 DVD does not show the option "repair", it starts with (I think) second screen containing loading windows files, and then proceed to install new version and keep the old windows files in the folder, old windows. I do not want to go through this new installation, I just want to repair my system files, sfc scan cannot repair them, resulting in many problems, such as dinotify.exe error, jscript.dll, just in time debugging, Thanks

USB bootable flsah drive couldn't detect though every function is alright but HDD won't shows up, then removing that USB FD and restarting that HDD shows up the freeze screen, sometime couldn't detect....

after startup, I get recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly of damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. try the recovery disc option.
OTHERWISE press f8 for advanced boot options and select last known good. if you understand why it cannot be verified temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.
    >>>> HOW DO I Get to "disable driver signature enforcement" ?? So i can start up and put my product key in??

Is it possible this issue can get fixed without inserting some disk or whatever it is we would need? may sound like a stupid question but with these solutions there is nothing i can do about it when it comes to inside out of you're own PC. I'm not all that professional at computers or repairing things, i could take this to someone if i run out of option to this BS error or whatever video i go to that isn't helping. I hope you give me some better solutions please so i can hit back to my Windows 7.

well if you can get on command promt with the boot cd, you should try scanning your hard drive, type "chkdsk" without quotes other than that just rebuild the bootmanager orr reinstall windows and yes i know you would lose all data likethat but only way honestly
