A player sales profit of 400mil is insane. It wouldn't seem like it initially but Marina is the sole reason Chelsea is surviving financially among PLs elite.
She's kind of a mini Ed Woodward. Shouldn't be anywhere near the player recruitment process but she's a fearless negotiator with the best of them, the days of us making 200-300% losses on players are over. How she managed to turn a tiny profit on Morata (as an example) is incredible, in the Emenalo days we'd have cut our losses in half on that deal at least.
The best example (IMO) was the Higuain deal. We got the option of a 12 month loan extension + two separate buyout clauses one of which was 15mil. Gave us all the power. Didn't work out but phenomenal negotiating.
The player sales profits also come from the academy system and the loan army which can be credited to emenelo but Marina made the sales. She’s good

Sure big money moves could be big busts like Pepe to Arsenal (so far), for example, but signing average players on the cheap could end up costing Chelsea more; Zappacosta, Barkley, Drinkwater, Emerson, Batshuayi. That's just money thrown away. If you take a gamble on a good player, you could get your reward, but if you sign players because they're the cheaper option they'll contribute nothing and drain you with their wage bill.
If it wasn’t for United being so bad, Chelsea would struggle to make even top 6 thanks to Kepa
Godot That alone is going to be tough with all the surprises taking place this year. Lecister City is in the top 4 and Wolverhampton Wanders have recovered from a rough start to the season. If they got off to a better start the season, Wolverhampton would be Champions League Contenders right now.
Even a team like Sheffield United have been playing quite well and are giving teams major issues (especially at home).

Not really. Most of the video was devoted to the ways financial fair play regulations restrict the means by which they can expand. The video was about the avenues of making a profit OTHER than Roman dumping money in.
I mean... top 4 is also necessary to sign better players like Havertz, Tagliafico, Upa, Onana, etc...

The two keys for Chelsea to be successful long term is to make sure every player they sign is genuinely a good player. They’ve wasted a lot on average players that didn’t compliment the team ( eg Kepa ) and secondly get the new stadium built to take us to the next level as a club, these are the two main issues at the club rn

Everyone knows this is a rebuild season and nobody expected Chelsea to get top 4 in the first place. The video was all about how they're in a tough spot financially, yet I don't see why it's a 'must' that it needs to be resolved this season with a top 4 finish. Another year really won't be much of a difference.
besides our next end of the year accounts would be much more stable due to the sales of hazard and a bunch of other would be sales like giroud. But i also belive that the year after that we MUST have cl football otherwise we will be in trouble.

They will better that figure for 2018/19 (accounts aren't out yet) and in 2019/20, they have literally bought only Minamino while shifting big earners like Sturridge and getting decent sales like Ings for 20 million. All that is because of their wage bill which is 5th highest in UK less than even Arsenal. So, put that success on the pitch in context in comparison to City and their dodgy dealings is even more impressive.

Based on this season and 2018-19, Kepa, Christensen, Tomori, Reece James, Jorginho, Kovacic Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount (hoping he will improve), Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham are the only ones that are worth keeping. Fortunately there's still pretty much of a spine to build a team around. Although would love to see Azpi stay.
If Marina can get good value for the players, then that's atleast another 100 mil+ to make "QUALITY SMART" additions.

Christensen is the best defender at the club.
Most of the goals Kepa has conceded were deflected ones, free headers, unmarked runs, etc. Due to bad defending, especially on set pieces. Against Arsenal, an injured Tammy Abraham who could barely move was the one taking on Bellerin, with Emerson watching the whole thing. Could've saved it, but still it shouldn't even be a shooting opportunity.
Also of all the premier league keepers, shots Kepa faced, are higher in the xG charts.
@@vishnubalakrishnanp275 No he isn't. He is completely over-hyped by our fanbase because he is from the academy. Error-prone, weak in the air, not physically imposing, mid ball playing skills, average defender. Christensen doesn't improve any Top 6 side (bar maybe Arsenal) + Leicester.

Let's bring in these statistics too; 127th best save percentage in Europe's top 5 leagues out of 132 goalkeepers. Worst save percentage of any premier league goalkeeper this season. Most goals conceded outside the box in the prem. Ranked as the 27th best PL goalkeeper this season out of 35 by WhoScored. Forget these statistics because the eye test also warrants criticism for Kepa. Weak wrists, he's "ball playing" ability isn't to that of Ederson, Allison or ter Stegen, he doesn't do the basic thing a goalkeeper is required to do well - shot stopping. Courtois was a way better keeper than this bum. One thing I will give Kepa is that he makes saves he shouldn't be saving but doesn't save easier shots.
