I've been wondering for years why nobody had snapped him up. Especially after the 2018 WC, the man is quality, I think Chelsea have smashed it for that price.
That’s what I thought as well. He must have an underlying flaw if so many clubs decided not to get him at a price that low
He and the Morrocan team were terrible at that WC which is why no one bought him at that time but yes I think he's one one of the best playmakers at the moment.

@@syazwansaleh8814 they all are, honestly they are all brilliant in their own way, but when we had De Ligt I thought it was refreshing to see a teenager take on the role as a captain and successfully but unfortunately had a rough season at Juve now. De Jong is such a hard working player and pleasing player to watch too, but Ziyech is one of the top 5 passers in the world for me!🔥👌

Chelsea got a steal in Ziyech if he can be the playmaker Chelsea needed. He's good on the ball and creative player a good replacement for William if we decide to not resign him. Lampard will really utilize it by playing in the right-wing or in the number 10 position. I can see him being top 5 in assist in prem when he plays

As an Ajax fan I have to say I am sorry to see him leave but I am not sure he'll be able to handle the more physically demanding Premier league. It's not that his stamina is the issue (quite the opposite, the guy can go for 120 minutes if he has to) but rather that he's a skinny dude who could be overwhelmed by big strong defenders. Other than that, he is fast, has supreme passing technique and high football intelligence. I hope he fares well in Britain.

Ziyech is a true warrior, his first year and a half at Ajax were not considered a success, his shots were off target more than often and he did not take criticism well.
He almost got booed out of Amsterdam the crowd hated him but instead of giving up Ziyech changed his mentality and gave his all every single game and started performing better every single game.
We love Ziyech in Amsterdam he turned from the most hated player to (one of the) most loved players at the club.
You'll better treath him good in London cause he's an absolute gem a true sportsman.
Watching this in September, this video is unbelievable accurate. Some may say it was pretty obvious.

@@sietsedegroot5198 He did in the system of Peter Bosz. Played in midfield next to Klaassen when Ajax reached the Europa League final. That is several years ago now though, and Bosz was the only coach to use him in that role.

He is madly inconsistent, no wonder many clubs would think twice about signing him. Even in Ajax's incredible 2019 CL run he missed sitters against Real Madrid, Juventus and Tottenham; his contribution couldn't be relied upon as much as that of Tagliafico, de Ligt, de Jong, van de Beek or Tadic to name a few. This season Ajax's level sank and he was one of those who sank the deepest.
Pulisic and Werner on the other hand have already achieved a lot and delivered fairly consistent seasons, despite being respectively 5 and 3 years younger than Ziyech.
At 5:09 , we have done more than what was needed. Can't wait for the season to start with all our new players.

After the whole Ajax run of the UCL in 2019, I saw this man with DVDB, MDL, and FDJ and knew that somebody would have their pick at one of the most in form CAMs in the whole world at that time. The summer window closed and nobody snapped him up. I was incredibly confused as Ziyech was a midfield engine that controlled the game in multiple positions like I could see Coutinho and Erikson could. It’s finally time to see Ziyech in action in a top 5 league and I can’t wait to see DVDB to shine at whatever club they go to. It’s honestly astonishing why Ziyech was never seen by any other club who could have used him. Barcelona instead of Greizman, MANU, Atletico, Real Madrid, Lyon, Arsenal, Dortmund, and Juventus could have used him properly and got amazing work and results out of him. Being a fan of Atletico and not having the greasiest season, I really wish we could have had Ziyech as a creative presence on the field but cheers to Chelsea for getting Werner, Pulisic, Ziyech, Abraham, Kante, and Kovicic running the show.

He's hit or miss, very inconsistent and the PL might be too tough to try and be consistent for him but we'll see, one thing is for sure though he's gonna score some bangers.

Simple answer the top teams just didnt need him.
Ziyech only wanted to go to a European Elite, he refused to go to Roma last year. Ziyech is an fantastic forward but most top clubs are already covered in that position. Alternatively he could also play as an attacking midfielder, but he loses possession too much in that regard. Now for a dominant side like Ajax in the Eredivisie that isnt a big problem, but at a top club it will be punished.
At a club like Chelsea with many great players he’s gonna be able to get the ball out quickly without losing possession or he’ll be sitting down.
